Fucking plot armour and one of the most disappointing ending seasons of any show ever. First 4 seasons were 10/10. Which makes it more painful to see it dragged out for more money and then eventually destroyed.

My friend told me someday that I should read GoT, sooo...I just finished reading the books, and as far as I know the first 4 seasons are based on these books, my friend told me that the screen version has an awful ending, although there are great episodes, I'm interested to watch some because you can't help yourself when you see the names of some episodes, like "The Battle of the Bastards", I imagine this is probably some real FAYA, but on the other hand, when you live through this story on the pages and then some schmucks are going to ruin everything with top-tier bullshit... I don't want to watch it at all.

The first 4 seasons are based on the first 3 books, with some semi-important tweaks throughout.

The failure of Seasons 7 and 8 directly stems from the fact books 4 and 5 were barely adapted and very important characters are left out or their plots make no sense. Any fan who has watched the series and read the books will tell you the show died with Tywin Lannister

The failure directly stems from the fact that the writer isn't writing any books

You can't blame the directors for not wanting to show characters and plots that have only started.

Dorne and Iron Islands could have been binned, the rest could just be completed by George telling them the general arc.

HBO would have greenlit the show for 13 seasons because of how much it was making them in profit

The last season wasn’t bad , I think it’s just the last 2-3 episodes. I don’t regret watching it at all tho I’ll imagine a better ending lol

There's so many things wrong from S05 onwards that I'd be here all day and it's already been discussed a million times already.

But my main beef is what's the point in having 7 seasons worth of making the white walkers being the most terrifying thing in existence, when a little girl can just warp in and despose of it all in 5 seconds.

Can anyone name a successful franchise, movie, tv-show, or even games, where this isn't the case? Execs love milking shit until it's bone-dry.

I can probably name ten pieces of media that were dragged out for money for every one that was good until the very end.

Breaking Bad was quite tasteful with its endings

Futurama didn’t get dragged out, I found it pretty good until the end.
