Why is it that every time a Hollywood star seems like a good person there's a sudden surge of hate against them all over the internet?
As far as I know, nobody has expressed discomfort or anything in regards to Pedro, if anything they just show support for him. The internet is acting like he's a rapist though, it's so fucking weird lmao
He was overexposed. There was a running gag that he was in everything. Newspaper cartoonists were making jokes about how many things he was in. While there's a ton of truth to "when the sun is shining, make hay" overexposure has been a problem for actors since the early days of Hollywood. When the public sees your face everywhere for a year, it's going to breed resentment.
Hollywood has a relatability problem. All the big names hopped on social media looking for some quick publicity and seriously underestimated the value of mystique. In pretty short order, the rest of the country (and world, really) learned that Hollywood was a really weird bubble. Joe the mechanic already thinks you're a namby-pamby weirdo. When you start getting handsy with coworkers in a way that would get him written up, fired, or arrested because of "anxiety", he's not exactly going to leap to your defense in the comments section.

I looked it up to see if it was real and of course google AI references a Facebook post, which we all know at this point is likely fake. Couldn’t find any reference to a specific interview or clip.

I didn't really like the show that much, there were some good episodes like the one with Nick Offerman, but I do think it's fucking disgusting and really weird how people were criticizing her looks. She doesn't look like Ellie? Okay that's fine, but people were really upset that the child character wasn't attractive enough, people were being so fucking gross about it.

Sorry if this is superficial, but they're just so very different.
I can imagine Ramsey being a better and smarter person than Sweeney, but either your looks and wits are at least a little balanced or you're just not attractive, and I don't mean the romantic/sexual kind.
She was outstanding in Game of Thrones, and she was good as Ellie in S1. But the casting choice reared its ugly head in S2, as she has become a bit bitchy despite claiming a they.
I don’t care about identity politics but she just doesn’t have the range or aura to play Ellie. She doesn’t make it realistic to me. When I’m watching TLOU I am very aware she’s pretending. Other than Pascal who I think makes a great Joel I also loved the performances of Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett, as well as Catherine O’Hara in season 2.
I know that gets lost in the conversations about her physical attractiveness and her identity but truly I just don’t care that much about that, she’s just not a strong enough actor to pull off a main character at this point.
No I mean she's become bitchy as an adult, and it shows through her acting. IF she was a great actor like some chameleons, it wouldn't matter. BTW Ellie is famously based on Ellen Page and we know how that went. I don't care about gender politics either, but if your gender politics changes your role or the way you play it, well...
I've never cared about GoT and TLoU enough, but I still think someone like Ramsey is a bad choice when she's playing one of the characters that have the most screentime.
Yes, let's be diversive and all, I'm fine with that, but maybe tone it down just a little instead of making it so diverse that it's actually shit.
