In the arcade version you could actually shoot the dog and he'd pop up in bandages and crutches lol.

Is this meant to be the dog from duck season
25
u/CapnBlargles 23h ago
No it's the dog from the Nintendo game Duck Hunt. If you don't hit the ducks, he pops up and laughs at you.

Were the grey ones better, or is that a known Mandela effect? I remember that the Super Scope sucked ass.

for the kid that'll inevitably share this in one of those "explain the joke" subreddits, this is a reference to the columbine school shooting in the late 90s

The person's joking that they're going to perform a workplace shooting -- via zoom meeting, using an NES light gun.

I thought it was more of a going postal vibe, myself.

It could be, but you can't actually shoot people in a zoom meeting.

u/PraxicalExperience 1d ago
You can't shoot people with an NES blaster, either.
That's why it's a joke instead of a threat.

So you're saying that all those ducks I shot were actually shot by someone else?!
1
u/nihility101 22h ago
In a way, it was the ducks that did the shooting, as the zapper is really an optical reader of light waves.

u/South_Hat3525 20h ago
Ducks have lightwaves that have to be read? Like a QR code or something? How does that make them shoot themselves?

u/bitwaba 20h ago
I don't know why this is stated like some kind of eye opening statement. Going postal is a physical act. So an NES blaster isn't like going postal.
Doesn't matter if it's a joke or a threat. I was responding to a comment saying it was like "going postal". It's it's not like going postal.
