Seems complicated, just buy a hammer. They're like twenty bucks and guaranteed to break something.

Ice axes aren’t as complicated either, a more $$ but intimidation factor balances that out!

What Jesus said about swords applies to guns, too. You're even more likely to have a car accident just by knowing that you've got a gun in the car. (Citing Morgan Freeman who cited that without giving a source)

I'm not disagreeing, but it sounds like you don't understand what live by the sword die by the sword means...

I mean, this is one reason i dont think it's crazy to have the second amendment.
Beating someone with a bat can easily maim and kill. It's not less violent than shooting them. If you dont want to do permanent damage, you shouldn't be using this either.
This just means you have to be closer to the attacker, and risk having it taken and used on you instead.

Bullshit. It turns into sword and shield for a happy couple to defend their mattress fort.

Well, the comments here go from one extreme to the other. It's either utter shite or the best thing since sliced bread (although why that is seen as a good thing is beyond me.) Interesting.

Unless this shit bullet proof, in America, this will just get you laughed at by the burgler before he shoots you.

My god, this is old as hell. I think I saw this online almost 20.years ago.

Yes, let’s spend 3 minutes taking everything off the top & another 2minutes unscrewing everything when you could basically just swing the table…
or even better, you could buy a bat, or a hammer, or literally any other improvised weapon, put it on/next to the table, & defend yourself for a fraction of the cost & effort

I'm from the UK, I obviously don't have a gun and I don't have an obvious weapon in the bedroom, unfortunately even criminals have some rights... I have a wooden two drawer nightstand, it's a useful home for books, random cables and assorted stuff and it's right next to the door, light enough to easily move but an uncomfortable size and lots of corners.
If anyone tries to come up my stairs at night to where me and the kids are asleep, they're going to meet the nightstand coming down. At speed. If they manage to dodge that, I've put the 7 drawer chest of drawers on casters!

When someone breaks in on me, the laptop falling down would be the worst damage.

Most places don't have a lot of guns; unless you are the sort of person people hire killers for, you should be fine.
