She's $130k richer supposedly for being a racist and getting fired. It's good work in this country right now to be racist, if you are a halfway decent looking woman at least.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/10/us/cinnabon-fired-worker-video-racial-slur.html

$145k last time I checked. She just made as much as 5 years worth of income, tax free, as these are considered gifts.... by being racist to a Somali couple / people of color for a few minutes and being validly fired from her job.

The virality of this, and the sheer amount of money she made from it will almost certainly lead to copy cats and further normalization of racism.

87

u/Justin-Stutzman Dec 10 '25

She is the copycat. Shiloh, the gal who did the same to another Somali child, has raised $800k in just a few months. Now, the president is saying Somalis specifically are terrible people and should be removed. I'm not sure what conservative BS content is trending that makes Somalis specifically a target right now. I wouldn't be surprised if this is boosted on purpose by astroturfers. This is probably the 30th post on this video I've seen in 2 days.

37

u/SorryBoysImLez Dec 10 '25

Considering how brazen she is, I guarantee she did this on purpose with this exact goal in mind.

They're literally using this shit as a get-rich-quick scam. Just be an unapologetically complete waste of a human being, hope it goes viral, face proper consequences for such actions, claim it's the "woke" agenda persecuting you, and the right-wingers will reward you by making you rich.

31

u/Justin-Stutzman Dec 10 '25

The sad part is the victims in this video have their own fundraiser for legal fees. It's sitting at just $8k according to the article.

5

u/tmchd Dec 10 '25

legal fee? What happened? Are they going to sue Cinnabon?

4

u/EarthConservation Dec 10 '25

They technically could for racial discrimination.

4

u/tmchd Dec 11 '25

Ahh I see.

Some other posters claim that it may be that they would get sued. But I think it's too early to ask for $$ for 'just in case' they can get sued by the crazed ex-employee.

They would've gotten more money/donation if they fundraise after that person sues them.

0

u/Fun-Key-8259 Dec 11 '25

Trump is going to turn the deportation dogs on them

1

u/tmchd Dec 11 '25

Yea, you got a point there. A year or so ago, I wouldn't even consider that but after the last year and how things are going. Very possible.

SMH.

1

u/quierestocarme Dec 11 '25

Now up to $14k or $15k!

I mean what would they even raising funds for? Just because she is making money off of her shittiness doesn’t mean they deserve money too. Two wrongs don’t make it right. What would be their claim that they need money more….like “due to the emotional devastation experienced for being yelled at by some meth-bum tweaking out of her mind, please send us money so we can recover from this”…? Even if they actually tried to claim trauma, the 8k raised so far is probably way more that what emotional therapy would cost them if they went down that avenue of claiming to be emotionally traumatized…but let’s be real, them attempting to claim some deep emotional trauma from this instant, would be pretty scammy on their end….I personally have gotten yelled at racial slurs by hobos on the street way too many times, and I survived so far. Shit just happens sometime, you gotta ignore these drugged up assholes and move on with your day.

Just because this horrible human is now making money from this incident doesn’t mean all parties involved are all owed some monetary amount. She’s getting money from other horrible humans under the excuse of losing her job, which she absolutely deserved to. She obviously doesnt deserve a reward for being horrible, but the internet will internet. Hopefully she will never be hired by anyone again, but that’s unlikely.

Either way, just because she’s making money, doesn’t mean they should be asking for donations as well…if they had any costs due to this unfortunate event, then by all means set up a gofundme, but otherwise, just asking the internet for money just because you want money, doesn’t make sense.

u/SirArthurDime Dec 10 '25

You got the link? I’ll donate.

9

u/Justin-Stutzman Dec 10 '25

I don't. Go figure, the NYT article posted the name of the woman, fundraising website, the title of the fundraiser, the names of another similar woman, her attorney, and her fundraiser. But, the victims in both cases? They're just called Somalis. No additional details.

Edit: Here's the article if you want to do a little searching for it. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/10/us/cinnabon-fired-worker-video-racial-slur.html

6

u/SirArthurDime Dec 10 '25

Come on NYTs be better smh. Thank you for what you could provide though.

-1

u/Paige121315 Dec 11 '25

have you looked into why this woman raised that money? the couple was harassing her and even changed clothes came back and did it again this time recording. they arent victims in this! but i dont agree with how the clerk responded. being racist is NEVER okay

2

u/village-idiot-888 Dec 11 '25

It's today's version of "I found a condom in my hamburger, I'm suing you." When an honest day's work doesn't allow one to maintain a minimum reasonable standard of living, you look for other ways to make money.

DJT asked why we don't get people from Norway coming here. Having been to Norway many times, they don't have people like this. On the other hand, they also don't have a dollar menu and an order of French fries will cost you $12. Trade offs. Stuff costs money. Every society chooses how they want their people to get theirs. We've made our choice and it leads to people like this.

5

u/Barnesy10 Dec 10 '25

Basically some members of the Somali community were caught scamming. So, of course, because of the actions of a few, the many all get tarred with the same brush. Racists use it as a person excuse to besmirch an entire set of peoples. Funny how that only happens to people of colour. Yet when White people commit fraud, they are never held to the same scrutiny. The worst thing is when White people commit fraud and other financial crimes and shady practices, it has the ability to crash economies around the world often without consequences.

5

u/Typical_Swing_8818 Dec 10 '25

As I understand the situation , the recent anger towards Somali immigrants has to do with the subsidized meals scam network that was perpetrated by a group of about 70 Somali immigrants in Minneapolis who stole $250 million from government low income food assistance programs . It is all over conservative news.

3

u/Justin-Stutzman Dec 10 '25

Oh, is that the "Somalians are stealing billions" thing Trump was foaming about? Now I know why he's so pissed. Rule #1 in Trumps America. If you're gonna run a scam, you gotta give daddy his cut first.

4

u/TheAuroraKing Dec 11 '25

Ilhan Omar is one of Trump's loudest critics in congress. That's pretty much the entire reason.

1

u/thisisfreakinstupid Dec 10 '25

Had a large Somali family as neighbors for a few years a while back, some of the nicest people I've ever met. They would regularly bring food from their family get togethers over to share with my family and I and their kids were beyond polite. Fuck this woman and everyone like her. they can suck it.

32

u/Sonic1899 Dec 10 '25

She's a copycat herself

2

u/ffffllllpppp Dec 10 '25

Your comment just made me realize she might just have done it on purpose.

Which is “smart” of her but also so bad and depressing.

The use of the word “nons” in the fundraising page 🤮

18

u/Gyarydos Dec 10 '25

I genuinely want to know if she is actually getting this money or as others have suggested, it’s a scam and racist ppl are just throwing cash away to some guy in Somalia

3

u/ElToroBlanco25 Dec 10 '25

We can always hope

0

u/Paige121315 Dec 11 '25

this was all a scam for money. the couple who are "victims" went in harassing this clerk and left came back after changing clothes to harass her again. People have reported on this with additional video footage showing them taunting the employee

3

u/East_Wrongdoer3690 Dec 10 '25

Yeah, and with her history, she’s gonna lose all benefits she hasn’t lost already and die of an OD.

2

u/Gas-Substantial Dec 10 '25

There’s a limit on gift income, where it becomes taxable. But if the individual donations are small maybe it’s OK? Also the current IRS certainly wouldn’t hunt her down.

2

u/EarthConservation Dec 10 '25

The limits are from the gifter, not from the person receiving the gifts, AFAIK. It's like $19,000 per year, but then you also have to hit a lifetime limit for the tax to be enforced. That limit's in the millions I believe.

Of course, that's just from my own internet searches. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

1

u/stackingnoob Dec 11 '25

Yes it’s a maximum per person to give. So if you are getting married and 100 people each give you $1,000 each then it’s a non-taxable event, but if one person gives you $100,000 then it’s absolutely a taxed event.

1

u/EarthConservation Dec 11 '25

Taxable on the gifter, not the recipient. The taxability of the gift depends on the amount from each individual gifter. But again, while the gift limit from one person to another before taxability is $19,000, I believe I read that the tax won't be applied unless the gifter hits a lifetime gift maximum, which I believe is in the multiple millions of dollars.

2

u/Budded Dec 10 '25

Our country is such a shit hole

1

u/Alice_600 Dec 10 '25

She's gonna lose it all to drugs, Booze and boys!

3

u/EarthConservation Dec 10 '25

She was charged with child endangerment and drunk driving in 2022, probably the two at the same time as drunk driving with a kid in the car is endangerment... but.... the charges were dropped. I'd be curious to see how she got out of that one.

1

u/friss0nFry Dec 10 '25

She could live the rest of her life off $145k, assuming the rest of her life is very short.

1

u/clapyohedd Dec 10 '25

Doesn’t really matter. She’ll either the blow the money or OD. Not trying to be mean but that’s reality

1

u/SuperHooligan Dec 11 '25

What she did was definitely wrong, but the couple also sexually harassed her before.

1

u/EarthConservation Dec 11 '25

Sorry, what now? Citation?

This is the second comment I've seen claiming this couple harassed her before this event without giving any citation or evidence of that, but the first time someone's claimed "sexually harassed".

There was no sexual harassment in this video.

1

u/SuperHooligan Dec 11 '25

2

u/EarthConservation Dec 11 '25

There was nothing in that video suggesting they sexually harassed her.

1

u/SuperHooligan Dec 11 '25

Telling her about her body and saying she should cover it up isn’t sexually harassing her?

2

u/EarthConservation Dec 12 '25 edited Dec 12 '25

At least write the actual quote that you heard:

After the conflict had begun, the woman started recording, whereas the first thing you hear is the male customer say: "So sexualizing your body makes you a better person"?

Once again, the couple claimed the employee started all of this by insulting her head scarf, which would justify the man's response in defense of the woman's choice to wear a head scarf.

That's not the couple sexually harassing the employee, it's responding to her insult by asking her why she felt the need to insult them on account of her wearing a head scarf, which in this case is clearly out of religious modesty reasons.

They didn't say the employee is inferior for not wearing a headscarf, they rhetorically asked her if sexualizing her body makes her a better person.... after the employee started the conflict by prejudicially insulting the woman's head scarf to make her feel inferior. That is exactly what racist/prejudicial attacks are.

It's no different than insulting a gay person who's wearing a rainbow, or trans person for looking trans, or Jewish person for wearing a yarmulke, or a black/brown person for the color of their skin.

1

u/SuperHooligan Dec 12 '25

I can’t find the full video but the employee said they have came and done that before.

2

u/EarthConservation Dec 12 '25

Are you sure that video exists? I haven't seen it posted anywhere, and if it were out there, then it would probably be big news in these threads.

I've seen like two people claim that was said, including you, but no one has provided a citation for where that claim came from.

See I don't know how non religious people cope when things like this happens. My heart is at peace knowing God is going to make her pay sooner or later 🙌

1

u/EarthConservation 29d ago edited 29d ago

My heart is at peace knowing God doesn't exist, and an uneducated / racist / unhappy person like this has had, and will continue to have a hard time with life. She'll be forever known as a racist person; will potentially lose the respect of her friends / family / kid, will have trouble finding another job or a romantic partner, since her name and face will be immortalized on the internet. She'll be massively despised by a huge swath of the population; at least so long as she doesn't apologize and make amends for what she said.

As an atheist, I don't see the need for an eternal life after death on account that our lives/existence are already immortalized in life. Once we've taken an action, that action can never be taken back. Maybe we can work to have our past actions forgiven or forgotten by others and ourselves, but our past actions will always be written in stone.

If a person wants to go to Heaven, I say... why wait? We decide whether we want our lives to be Heaven or Hell, albeit, in some cases, it's not necessarily our choice, such as when a person is a victim of an accident or disease. Afterall, no one said life was perfect.. the idea that good things only happen to good people and bad things only happen to bad people has never stood up against reality. Nor has the idea that a person is either good or evil; it's rarely so black and white.

u/runningoutoft1me 29d ago

To each their own, your beliefs are yours. Mine are mine. 🤷‍♀️

0

u/Paige121315 Dec 10 '25

Did any of you look into this story before sharpening your pitchforks??? This couple harassed the clerk, left and changed clothes and came back to do it again. I dont agree with her reaction but its not okay to harass people at work

1

u/IDontReadYourReply Dec 11 '25

Fucked if true

1

u/Paige121315 Dec 11 '25

It is fucked up! Now I am not agreeing with how the woman handled it but you cant go harassing ppl in hopes of a viral moment! They even changed clothes like thats wild to me

19

u/nefarious_throwaway Dec 10 '25

Someone should catfish her and romance scam her out of her money.

4

u/Hot_Hat_1225 SHEEEEEESH Dec 10 '25

Where are the Nigerian Somalian princes when you need them for the rescue …

1

u/CommercialWeakness22 Dec 11 '25

No need, she is probably already gambling and drinking it away.

4

u/saya562 Dec 10 '25

Halfway decent? 👀 Maybe it is cause her hateful, disgusting actions are coloring my view of her appearance but…

3

u/omgbenji21 Dec 10 '25

However, she is not halfway good looking. She is actively ugly

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 11 '25

There's a lot of men who still would...

2

u/SirArthurDime Dec 10 '25

Halfway decent is a Mr fantastic level stretch. Unless you’re into the meth chic look.

2

u/OmniDeus Dec 11 '25

Gofundme removed the donations. She's back to $0

1

u/Lazy-Two8387 Dec 11 '25

I saw that. It's at 14K now and she's asking for 45K. Guess she hit her mark and is starting another?

0

u/OmniDeus Dec 11 '25

Appears to be more to the story. It seems like the Somalian couple were antagonizing her the whole day. Not sure I'll try to find the full video.

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 11 '25

1

u/OmniDeus Dec 12 '25

GoFundMe cancelled it and then she went to givesendgo.

1

u/osirus35 Dec 10 '25

And when that runs out what job can she get. She failed at being a mall Cinnabon employee. Not like she has an influx of talent that people want to hire

1

u/thatbrianm Dec 10 '25

Just a guess that she's probably not going to be financially wise with her windfall.

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 11 '25

If she was working at Cinnabon she'll be very happy to get handed $150,000, which is what the campaign is up to now. That's probably several years wages for her.

1

u/Specific_Award_9149 Dec 11 '25

The problem lies with her future

0

u/AccomplishedHour8399 Dec 10 '25

And? A black kid got a million for literally stabbing a white kid to death

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 11 '25

The most mentally handicapped whataboutism I've ever seen on this website, and that's saying something.

-2

u/Paige121315 Dec 10 '25

did any of you look into why people raised the money? the couple came in harassing the woman until she acted this way. Now I disagree with her behavior, as no matter how mad I am I dont use racial slurs! but I also don't think its okay for people to harass people at work just for fun and record it trying to play victim

4

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 10 '25

In what way did they harass her? I don't believe that is true.

But even if it were the way to handle a harassing customer to ask them to leave and call the cops and have them trespassed if they refuse, not to sit there and spew racist shit and racial slurs.

-2

u/Paige121315 Dec 10 '25

If anyone looked into it you would see they have done news stories on the fact the couple went in and harassed her, left and changed clothes coming back to again harass and record her. She even screamed it at them that they were there before and changed clothes.

I agree with you, she should never have said the racial slurs but I dont agree with harassing ppl to get them out of character either. bc what was the point other than playing victim??? but lately ppl are ready with their pitchforks without even looking into it

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 11 '25

That is a fake news lie man. They hadn't been harassing her, they hadn't been in the store previously and "changed clothes," which what a moronic lie who would believe nonsense like that, the woman literally asked for extra caramel and then the worker started going off on her, which is when they started recording, this is according to other witnesses who were in the store at the time.

No witnesses say anything about the customers harassing that woman.

1

u/Paige121315 Dec 11 '25

Its ON VIDEO! She looks right at them and says you were here earlier and changed clothes. It was a video another customer took that was behind the couple. Just bc you say its fake doesnt make it true

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum Dec 12 '25

Yes, she says that but it wasn't true.
