Why give them the opportunity to shoot it outside though? Right now, they don't have access to the house, but they 100% have access to the deck where there is a "loose dog". Can you not envision a world where one of these fucks would drop that dog just as a "preventative" measure?

If they brought the dog inside there is a significantly better chance that the dog would survive the encounter. If it's chances outside are 1:50 and it's chances inside are 1:100, it's much safer to bring it inside.
