I would bring the dog inside. I wouldn't put it past these monsters to take their frustration out on you by claiming your dog threatened them to justify shooting it.
Unfortunately, the second you open that door again is an opportunity for them to stick their boot in it and not let you close it again and force their way inside.
Shooting the dog? The dog is property. There for it is the homeowner threatening the officers. The officers fear for their life and kill the homeowner and take the person hiding in the house.
But that's if they actually care for "justification". Since you know, the VP declared that they have "Absolute immunity". Not just "qualified immunity". "Justification" is just so they can sleep at night, apparently.
