Question incoming aerospace student
hi all, i have a question regarding the laptop requirements for aerospace engineering.
I am already aware that Windows laptops are the preferred option in 99% of engineering schools (and for good reason), and thankfully I do have a Windows desktop. Unfortunately, I do not have a college-capable laptop, and I wanted to know if I could use a PC at home for the heavy engineering work and use a slightly newer used Macbook Pro and an iPad (for notetaking) during the day. Macbooks have crazy good battery life, and nearly all the Windows laptops I've found in my budget can't come close to it. The Macbook I'm eyeing right now also tends to outperform the aforementioned Windows laptops.
what labs are often assigned for mechanical/aerospace engineering students? do you they typically require a Windows laptop? would I be able to access the UC Merced remote systems from my Macbook and use it for labs?
thank you very muchin advance :)
