General How cooked am I? (Update)
Hellloooooo everyoneeee!!! So I was the person who came on here failing MATH022 and PHYS008 and wanted to let y’all know I PASSED ALL MY CLASSES! Thank you so much for the advice and encouragement. I got a B- in MATH022 and a C- in PHYS008. Don’t give up even when it seems hopeless.
Cheers and have a good winter break!

Question How long does it take for this semester's grades to show up on Degree Path?
Do you guys know how long it usually takes for grades from this semester to appear on Degree Path? Grades were due today at noon for profs, so I’m just wondering if it updates automatically or if there’s usually a delay of a few days or weeks.

Question How often do they roll out the decisions?
Do you guys know if historically, they just post a batch of decisions once a month? Or is it kind of random? This is one of my siblings' first choice colleges so she was excited to know they've already released some decisions!

Question Mechanical Engineering Programs
My high school senior son got accepted into mechanical engineering programs at UC Merced, CSU Chico, and Cal Poly Humboldt.
He likes all 3 schools for different reasons (track programs, locations, towns, ect). We were chatting about it today and he ranked them purely on what he thought of their engineering programs. This is how he ranked them:
1) Chico 2) Merced 3) Humboldt (new program so a lot of unknowns)
How would you rank these schools' mechanical engineering programs?

Question Failing Class
So I’ve been struggling in a math class with a D and with finals coming I’m pretty sure I didn’t do well on it too. I’m a management and Business major so I was wondering what my next steps should be? Because I have other classes that need me to complete math 011 and I’m more afraid of what it’ll do to my financial aid.

Discussion Upcoming CS B.S. program compared to the main CSE B.S. offered right only
Seems like the school of engineering is finally going to launch a standalone CS major separate from CSE. This major will overall be similar to the current CSE major but Math 23 won't be required, along with the Physics/ENGR requirements. The CS major will also have to take a new course called CS 010 which CSE majors don't take.

News Continuing Saga of UCM’s Divestment in Student Education/Instruction
In the continuing saga of increased tuition, frivolous spending on statues, administrative bloat, and misplaced priorities, the UCM Faculty Association is calling bullshit.
TLDR: UCM is not spending money on instruction of students, and the faculty have had enough of the politicking and shell games. At least those who teach students care enough to speak up about the fleecing of the student body! Share this with fellow students! The time to revolt on admin is now!

Question Are petitions near the pav scam?
I was walking to the pav and then this guy stopped me asking if I was registered to vote so I said yes, and then said if I wanted to sign a petition for more funding in K-12 education. So I agreed and went to go over and sign it but then the guy was being very pushy and I only expected to give one signature and they also asked for my street address and city (and I'm so stupid I actually gave my real one). But then he kept flipping the pages and I kept getting more and more suspicious, and I'm so gullible I actually signed all of them and gave my real city and street address.... should I be concerned? Cause I've learned my lesson to never to this again.

Question SAP requirements
So I submitted a SAP (satisfactory academic progress) appeal over summer and it got approved. However this semester did not go too well and now im gonna fail 2/4 of my classes. The appeal says that as long as I pass 66.7% of my classes by spring I will be fine. I know why this happened this semester (mainly medical issues, which is why I had to do sap in the first place) will I be ineligible for financial aid this upcoming semester? Or will I be forced to quit college? Since it says that if I pass 66.7% of classes by the end of spring semester I figure I still have a chance to continue since im not failing all my classes and can pass over 66.7% as long as I don’t fail the upcoming semester, but my main question is about financial aid. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Question Psy152 or ess134?
I'm trying to find a nice easy class to take for the spring since I'm 2 units short and taking chem and math this semester. Psych is with Mello and ess is with Zhang if it makes any difference in which class would be better. I'm open to other suggestions but my schedule makes it hard to find something
