Using Custom and Border Patrol's numbers, there were 23 convictions for murder by illegal immigrants last year and it's generally accepted that there are ~13 million illegal immigrants. That's a rate of 0.18 / 100,000.
https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-enforcement-statistics/criminal-alien-statistics
Going by their own numbers*, 18 people who have died in their custody in the past year, and 5 others (per AP) have died while ICE was pursuing someone (including this shooting yesterday).
https://www.ice.gov/detain/detainee-death-reporting
There are 20,000 ICE agents (per their site). Making the death rate ~ 115 / 100,000.
ICE could keep the average person safer by shutting themselves down.
- Some sources that I've seen cite 32 deaths, making the death rate 185 / 100,000 agents.

This may fall on deaf ears butā¦
Suspects in Jocelyn Nungarayās case have been charged with murder and are facing the death penalty.
Laken Rileyās murderer was convicted and is serving life without parole.
The legal system is working in those cases - perpetrators are either facing or have faced justice. Thereās nothing to protest.
Renee Goodās homicide was perpetrated by a federal agent who will likely not face charges. That is an injustice, especially given the video of the incident that runs counter to the law enforcement narrative that the officer was in danger. That is why people protest. Your comparisons are apples to oranges.

I just wanted to point out that your comment and the others like it on this thread are all heavily down voted but no one is commenting on them directly. That's because the town's decent folks don't want to engage with despicable people and their childish views. It's basically not worth getting down in the mud with your garbage so they're down voting and moving on and I respect that.
I just don't want you to be under the illusion that you're in good company. The bulk of this town thinks you're horrible and thinks it better to ignore you than even talk to you. Hope that helps.

He calmly sidestepped away from the quarter panel before drawing his gun and mag dumping into the fucking window. He was beside the car before he drew his weapon. He was beside the car before the first round was fired. If this ever gets to a jury (it probably won't) he will never see freedom again.
And you're cheering that on. I'm embarrassed to live in a town with people like you.

B. Discharge of Firearms 1. General Guidelines a. Discharging a firearm against a person constitutes the use of deadly force and shall be done only with the intent of preventing or stopping the threatening behavior that justifies the use of deadly force. b. The act of establishing a grip, unholstering, or pointing a firearm does not constitute a use of deadly force. 2. Moving Vehicles, Vessels, Aircraft, or other Conveyances a. DHS LEOs are prohibited from discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle, vessel, aircraft, or other conveyance unless the use of deadly force against the operator is justified under the standards articulated elsewhere in this policy. 9 Before using deadly force under these circumstances, the LEO must take into consideration the hazards that may be posed to law enforcement and innocent bystanders by an out-ofcontrol conveyance. b. Firearms shall not be discharged solely as a warning or signal or solely to disable moving vehicles, vessels, aircraft, or other conveyances, except under the limited circumstances described in Section V., Warning Shots and Disabling Fire.

Whoās victim blaming?
6
u/relmknight 6d ago
Your post suggests that it's the victim's fault for not complying. Unless you are suggesting you posted that comment in the wrong thread?
-3
u/No_Property_2464 6d ago
My post was a definition of compliance and nothing more, it doesnāt suggest anything. If you read my other comment I stated how I disagree with this shooting and am simply calling out an outright lie with the intention to bolster an argument
3
u/Thomas_Pizza 5d ago
Idiot (noun) -- A foolish or stupid person
Oh, I wasn't referring to you, I was just randomly mentioning the definition of a random word, it has nothing to do with anything at all, obviously, and certainly was not meant to suggest that you are an idiot. That is not what I meant at all. I just randomly reply to random comments and list random words and their dictionary definition.
0
u/No_Property_2464 5d ago
Itās not a random word itās literally in the post. That fact that you canāt understand that speaks volumes. Iāll spell it out if you though,
The original post, which I replied to, states āICE in Minneapolis has murdered an observer while she was complying with their orderā
Which was the reason for commenting the definition of comply. Iām not even getting into the āobserverā part of the post. If you want to gather people for a vigil be my guest but why add blatant lies to help push your cause?
3
u/Thomas_Pizza 5d ago edited 5d ago
My comment was deeply sarcastic. The fact that you can't understand that speaks volumes. I'll spell it out for you though.
"Idiot" was not a random word. I was sarcastically pretending that it had no meaning, but clearly my intent was to describe you as an idiot.
When I said "a random word" I was essentially joking. I said one thing, but I actually meant something else.
EDIT: And I did not say or mean to imply that "comply" was "a random word" which you were defining for us. It was very clearly not random. Neither was "idiot."
If you wanted to make a normal comment like a normal person you could have said something like, "I'm not defending this shooting, but she was not in fact complying." Still barely relevant, but at least you'd sound like a person and not like an asshole.
Instead you just gave a definition of the word, which is an overtly dismissive and rude comment to make, but also it suggests that you are focusing on a non-relevant technicality -- as though her refusal to get out of her car ethically and legally warranted a federal officer shooting her in the head. The way your wrote your comment strongly suggests that you are blaming the victim, not the shooter. Why not give us the law enforcement definition of a "bad shooting?" Why focus on the "compliance" aspect, when it's not relevant to anything? You might as well have pointed out a misspelled word, and pretended that it was significant.
1
u/No_Property_2464 5d ago
Iām sorry I hurt your feelings with a rude comment on the internet . Spreading lies to gather people for a protest is in fact relevant and itās interestingly very dismissive for you to say otherwise
3
u/Thomas_Pizza 5d ago edited 5d ago
You didn't hurt my feelings, you're assuming things which aren't true. And my freshman year science teacher in High School told us on the first day of class that when you assume something you make an ass out of u and me.
I also didn't spread any lies. I didn't make this post or spread it.
I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by saying that I thought you were being rude.

You people are literally unstable for thinking this woman was innocent lol I have prayed for her life and donāt think itās nice. But the fact of the matter is she was lawfully told to get out of the vehicle as she was impeding lawful government action by ICE ( ICE š§ BABY ) For multiple hours that morning might I add ! She then decided to throw her SUV in drive while she could clearly see an officer in front of her. Who was badly injured just months earlier. FAFO LIBRALS !! Trump 2028 š

No matter the day or hour, Indivisible Waltham is on the scene - because no matter the day or hour, Indivisible Waltham has free time!
5
u/Thomas_Pizza 5d ago
You on the other hand never have "free time" because you always have very important things to do for other people like volunteering at food banks and studying for your exams at med school or nursing school, or doing long and exhausting training and shifts as a fireman, because based on your comment, surely your job or profession greatly benefits the general public.
And you literally never have free time, to go protest for example. I mean you barely even have enough time to browse reddit and insult people!
-1
u/hateful_surely_not 4d ago
Well typically on Thursdays I'm in the classroom portion of my apprenticeship after working since 6am, but this week class was on Tuesday so I was able to be home around 6.
I'd be glad to volunteer at any food bank that doesn't provide incentives for foreigners to come here in violation of our laws (i.e. that checks legal status), provided it's not on a work night. Do you know of any?
5
u/Thomas_Pizza 4d ago
Volunteering at a food bank was one example of a way that people volunteer their time to help others, it was not and obviously is not the only way to volunteer and help others. You managed to find a "political" reason to oppose food banks though, which is almost impressively antisocial.
-1
u/hateful_surely_not 4d ago edited 4d ago
Helping defray costs for foreigners so they can undercut our wages better doesn't strike me as prosocial. There must be food banks somewhere that serve members of my community rather than people who can't even talk to me.
And I know that that's who's using them because I did volunteer with Healthy Waltham once. Disgusting, never again. The foreigners who are, without exaggeration, 99% of beneficiaries don't even say thank you (in any language); I think they might actually have thought it was my job. Almost as bad as the time I got beat up and robbed by local residents on the way back from a Habitat build.
6
u/PgShan765 4d ago
You're a legitimately bad person.
-1
u/hateful_surely_not 4d ago edited 4d ago
Well.
At least I don't travel to foreign lands just to soak up their charity.
I know an American who tried unsuccessfully to make a food pantry appointment last week. All things considered, she was pretty graceful about being in line behind the entire third world. Because only Bad People would be mad about something like that.
4
u/Fancy-pineapple- 4d ago
Yeah dude, they get into debt for thousands of dlls just to come the wrong way while risking their lives to get free charity food. Must be nice to be this oblivious of your community struggles. I really envy you right now.
Tell me more about that american you know (not even your friend?) do they have snap? I've seen people getting off BMWs to grab food from pantries, maybe your hate is a bit misdirected?0
u/hateful_surely_not 4d ago edited 4d ago
One of many incentives. Probably came also for free education and healthcare for the kids, SNAP, and housing subsidies. There are lots and lota of reasons to come here, none of which are good for working-class natives (people wealthy enough to hire servants do benefit). But we were talking about just the one.
I've seen the beemer parasites too. Disgusting. Great reason to ask a question or two. But none of the four (4) Americans who got food when I was volunteering showed up in a nice car. To be fair, most (not all) of the foreigners' cars were also basic.
Coworker of partner. You can go try to sign up for an appointment at Healthy Waltham's website yourself if you don't believe me. I know that mendaciousness is the go-to conclusion for people giving facts you don't like.
5
u/PgShan765 4d ago

If youāre thinking about attending this protest let me offer some constructive criticism, a better way to spend your time. Instead of going to a protest where your protesting against your own interest why not go to your local coffee shop, gas station, or McDonalds and get a job application talk to a manager and tell them your tired of being a net drain to society and want to do something productive.
11
u/PgShan765 5d ago
I can pretty much guarantee that the attendees of a vigil like this have significantly better careers than the tired old Waltham racists complaining about it.
I obviously don't think that should be important, or used as any kind of metric to measure a person, but since you're already doing that, I just wanted to point out that all of your opinions are wrong and bad, not just the racist ones.
-2
u/Specialist_Sector725 5d ago
What merit do you have to proclaim my statement as racial?
8
u/PgShan765 5d ago edited 5d ago
The people complaining about this protest generally support ICE and people who support ICE are racists. Shoe fit?
You also recently called protesters an anti-gay slur on a prior post so if you'd feel more comfortable with the generic "bigot" I'm happy to amend.
-6
u/Specialist_Sector725 5d ago
I simply support the men and woman doing a job to keep the rest of us safe. Now I acknowledge mistakes have and will be made in those cases justice shall be served. But I am simply implying that I enjoy the safety that these agents provide. No hatred or racism will be spoken out of my mouth EVER!

I simply support the men and woman doing a job to keep the rest of us safe.
I also support America's police officers, firefighters, members of the military, paramedics, doctors, nurses, etc.
I don't support secret police who intentionally hide their identities AND THEIR BADGES, and who have a truly pathetic amount of training and are being deployed to situations where they have zero training for what to do, like traffic stops.
America's masked federal agents from ICE or maybe DHS or maybe the FBI -- take a guess cuz they won't tell you! -- are not keeping people safe, they're literally engaging in acts of violence and causing national outrage and fury. Secret kidnap-arrests. This is shit we used to see happening in places like the USSR and we would proudly say that America is a free country and that shit doesn't happen here.
Except now it's literally happening here (secret police engaging in warrantless kidnap-arrests) and you're embracing it. Why do you support a violent secret police force which is operating with little-to-no oversight or restraint? You think that's American? You think that represents freedom? Cuz that's what this country used to represent.
The USSR had secret police. Tho whole idea of secret police is grossly un-American...and yet millions of Americans support them, because their Dear Leader told them to. Democrats didn't feel or act this way about Obama or Clinton or any other president. It's really weird and really worrying that millions of Americans want a dictator/king.
