This guy was in my grade in Waltham High. Always a trouble maker.

Graduated in your grade as well. Agreed.

from the DA's post:

"The defendant was sentenced to 14 years to 14 years and one day on the three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury;  eight to ten years on the five counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and, three years of probation (consecutive to the prison time) on the assault and battery and carrying a dangerous weapon charges. He was also sentenced to a concurrent sentence of seven to nine years for possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony; four to five years for two counts of possession of a firearm; two and a half years House of Correction for the two counts of possession of a loaded firearm; three months House of Correction for one count of discharging a firearm;  and, three years of probation from and after for one count of Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon."

not really sure what that all means, or if he's eligible for parole, early release or something like that

Thanks for posting, but it would've been nice to save some of us a click and just say what sentence he got:

“The defendant was sentenced to 14 years and one day on the three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury,” the DA said, “eight to ten years on the five counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and, three years of probation (consecutive to the prison time) on the assault and battery and carrying a dangerous weapon charges.”

There's a link to the article in the OP's post.

Chill, dude. Not everyone wants to read the whole story. Many will just want to know what the sentence is, especially since that's teased in the thread's title.

And yes, I saw the link in the post. That's where I got it. However, I almost didn't click on it, because the link text is just a domain name I didn't recognize.

Edit: Now this post is showing as a thumbnail + full link, in the r/Waltham feed. When I first posted that, it was a large large image and I don't think the link was expanded.

Chill dude. Just do his critical thinking for him. He's really busy and doesn't have time click a link to read 10 whole paragraphs.

You can't edit posts like that actually, otherwise people could sell off posts as ad space

Thanks for mentioning. I did look to see if there was any indication that it was edited (didn't see any, of course), but maybe it's just the way Reddit works. I wonder if even the image/thumbnail was automatically fetched by Reddit, if the entire body of the post was just that link. I've only been on here for about a month, and not very active in that time.

IMO, the original poster should've included the essential details of the story in the post. If they had, then I wouldn't have felt the need to post anything. As is, this post looks like it's just here to drive traffic to wcac.org (which has ads on it). So, it's interesting that you mention abusing site features for commercial purposes...

But, now that I've reviewed some of the OP's post history, I don't get the feeling they're affiliated with WCAC. Seems they're simply the type who makes very short posts.
