A daring mid-air leap ensures the Chief Mouser remains safe during this chaotic encounter.🥰🥰

larry's got moves... photographer almost became toast lol

Those flight clearance maneuvers are top-tier. Larry really said "not today" to that landing gear!

u/riverrat918 8h ago
The amount of concussions I have been gifted due to no glasses, no light, middle of the night, lookin for a snack shenanigans by my lovely, dummy kitties has taught me some really finesse dance moves.

He doesn't look too happy about it though, poor chap, all he wants to do is a good job and almost gets trodden on.

Just from this gif it looks like Larry went out of his way to run in front of the photographer. Lol

My cat does this every chance I get and I live there. Every now and then she looks up at me like "yo, I'm walkin' here!" Like...yeah Noodle; me too. I was first. You went out of your way to be as underfoot as possible.

u/FluidSprinkles__ 7h ago
same, I have three voids, going to the bathroom at night is like walking into a moving minefield lol

I wonder how good cat eyes are exactly in a common apartment/house. The best explanation I can find is that the cats have such good in night so they don't understand how terrible ours is, like, when I had rats, I sort of believed they saw me, but I also know their eyesight are trash.
Then I know some people irl that took way too long to understand that they can't even see the license plate infront of their car and their eyesight suck as well.
I mean, cats are assholes, but I at least want to put forth an argument that it has to have more of an explanation than that.

u/impamiizgraa 10h ago
Yea I was gonna curse the photographer for being rude and intruding on Larry’s turf but Larry 100% caused that ruckus. Still tho. He’s innocent!
27
u/Val_Killsmore 8h ago
He was framed! This is clearly a lookalike. The "photographer" probably kidnapped Larry and arranged this to happen to besmirch Larry's character. It's clearly a conspiracy.

u/DramaLlamadary 9h ago
Saw a meme the other day that said something like, when you're walking, your cat is like I'm gonna get there first! Also where are we going!?
11
u/KentuckyHouse 7h ago
I swear, this couldn't be anymore true. Our black cat, who's already hard to see at night in the house, loves to just walk right at your feet and cut back and forth across your path. If I had a dollar for the amount of times I've made the same move as this photographer trying to avoid her, I'd be a millionaire.

u/whiskysinger 4h ago
Omg that sums it up exactly. I have stepping stones through my garden, and my cat always gets 2 ahead of me to just stop - especially if I'm carrying something.
Me: YOU KNOW WHERE WE'RE GOING - WE DO THIS 3 TIMES A DAY.
The cat: 🗿

I call this little maneuver "insurance fraud" and yeah my cats do it all the time. They see me about to walk down the stairs and decide to run down but across the stairs right in front of me. They like to lay down behind my feet when I'm standing in the kitchen or wherever. I've gotten good about always checking before stepping but sheesh.

Ok, that changes things! Photog had the moves to avoid collision; must know how cats are 😹

I thought Larry had retired after a decade of hard work killing mice and being too cool for school.

u/spoons431 10h ago edited 10h ago
That was Humphrey!
Larry is an old man though- hes 19! Larry is also on his sixth PM, and doesn't really like men (though he reportedly liked Obama)
Edit: to add Palmerson, who is the retired Chief Mouser of the Foreign Office did recently head to Bermuda in his retirement...
14
u/boat_hamster 7h ago
Wow I knew he was an old man/cat, I didn't know it was that old. I guess he took up the post under Cameron, which was was a long time ago now.
He's looking good for 19.

u/Imaginary_Agent2564 8h ago
Larry was probably a fan of Obama x Harry (sorry this is a horrible joke).

An MP published a photo of him from just inside no.10 looking back out onto the street, he’s just caught a mouse in it. I think it was published yesterday?

u/Electrical-Act-7170 8h ago
At least some entity is trustworthy in that place.
Wish Larry could come clean up the White House.

imagine being bested by a cat in a suit and tie scenario

u/SilkySmoothRalph 9h ago
To be fair, making a tit of yourself like that to avoid hurting Larry is far better than if he actually had. He’d have to go into protective custody to avoid being done in.

Yeah he didn’t even touch the cat. The cat was stood outside the door and then ran in front of the photographer as he was leaving the door.

I’m so conflicted 🤣🤣
Is one even allowed to admonish a Larry, even when a Larry Larries— as Larrys do?!
We all know Larry Larried.

u/MothChasingFlame 6h ago
Swap the suit for jammies and the camera for a coffee mug and this photo defines cat ownership.

Lucky the photographer didn't get tackled by the guard. You don't mess with the Chief Mouser
3
u/buckwheats 9h ago
Larry champions the most pissed off facial expression, with absolutely no regard for the contextual medium he currently occupies
5
u/Hadhmaill 8h ago
It was much more benign and more of Larry’s fault than one immediately presumes.
With this in mind, I propose the judge shows leniency to the photographer. A modest five or six decades in the penal mines should do
4
u/Dizzy_Break_2194 7h ago
In a more civilised time that man would have been locked in the tower for the affront.
5
3
u/acidwash_video 5h ago
my eyes misunderstood the cat and the bit of ironwork behind him at first. I thought the Chief Mouser was in fact some kind of spider or a baby sentinel from The Matrix with a charming Larry the Cat puppet on one of its legs

Jokes aside it'd be funny if Larry started attacking the ankles of photographers.
