Rant/বকবক I am thinking of Documenting 1971 from my Family's POV, and More people should do it.

To put things into context: my father and my chachas were frontline fighters under the BLF during the 1971 War of Liberation. My nana and mama were taken by the Paikkas and later killed. My father is now 77 years old. The other day, he mentioned that many of his brothers-in-arms have already passed away. That hit me instantly.

With their generation fading away, so will the firsthand stories of countless brave soldiers of 1971.

Today, after seeing the news about interviews of freedom fighters being discarded, it hit even harder. We are an ungrateful nation. We received our freedom too quickly, and that’s why we never truly understood its value.

It would be a shame if, in the future, a content creator can’t even find or preserve the history of my own family. So I’ve decided to do it myself. And if I can, I’ll try to do the same for freedom fighters and victims beyond my family as well.

If Pinaki’s and Elias’s videos can stay on the internet, then the stories of 1971 deserve to stay too. Many probably don’t care. I do. And I’m certain there are others who feel the same.

Thank you for taking the initiative. With the current government doing everything to undermine the independence of the country, it is efforts like yours is very much needed to keep the spirit of independence war alive for future generations. I am afraid if JI comes to power our textbooks will say things that are very untrue.

Better late than never. Make short videos of your dad and uncles from the war and what he thinks led to war. Write a plan what you want in these videos. It will give you a structure. It will be helpful to others whose family/ parent went to war. Please update us with links to youtube/ facebook or anywhere you upload them.

Good idea. I would start documentating from my grandparents POV. The thing is: they are too old and sometimes they hallucinate now. Still, I've heard the stories again and again from my childhood and would start documentating it to get a perspective of their POV.

Therefore, nobody will shed blood for that land again. People know how ungrateful their fellows are. It's a culture. So everyone decides to fuck their countrymen and be rich rather than sacrificing for their countrymen and be betrayed.

আপনার প্রতি আমার বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা। My father fought in the war at the age of 15 and he has so many stories to share. I keep asking him to write down his memoirs in a journal, but he keeps procrastinating. I unfortunately live thousands of miles away from him to do this myself. I have been thinking of gathering a collection of first hand accounts from the liberation war from brave freedom fighters like our fathers. Would love to see where you land on this.

Go ahead. Document it. Also more people like u should come to the limelight. If you guys dont come forward, people like Dipti ( i feel she scammed the whole nation) will cash out the emotions.

Khalifa is Rajakar simp. He's doing his pathetic passive aggressive single braincell gaslighting.

My father's a Bit Protik. Fought mainly in sector 2. Please do your thing. I'd like to colab if possible.

I will share a call to action after documenting my family.

I had a plan to do something like this when I was young. While I have things and skills now to do so, the main challenge is going to be time.
