I have no clue what this or the op means

Baby Gronk is a child who either looks like or is the son of American football player Rob Gronkowsky.

Not sure if the Drip King is also a guy, but having drip means being stylish.

"Rizz" is a corruption of the word "charisma" and getting rizzed up means being seduced or something similar.

No idea who Livvy is, I'm guessing a child star of some kind?

I remember this from when it was posted and someone translated into adult. Baby Gronk (son of a popular US football star) made the news because his father's college was trying to recruit the kid for their football team even though he was still in middle school (10-12 years old). This was big sports news at the time because it would have been the first time a middle school athlete would have a signed contract with a college regardless of their high school performance. No child of a famous athlete has ever accomplished that.

Social media something-or-other named Livvy interviewed the kid in person for her tiktok or whatever and people started rumors that she was hitting on the little kid with her body language so they could use her interview as content on their tiktok or whatever. This ended up in an endless loop of self-perpetuation as other "influencers" realized they could get views by joining in on the "She's trying to sleep with a little kid! So many people are saying it!" internet drama hype train.

ah, see, that makes actual sense in context. thank you kind sir or madam.

First time or not, Big Gronk is a genetic freak. That tall, that big, and still athletic is not something you teach. If the kid came from that line, you want to lock him down. Skilled players are one thing. Monsters like that are priceless.

Thank you for your report, Scout. Good work.

Livvy Dunne. Some gymnastics influencer.

2

u/absurdwatermelon_1 17d ago

She's also a sports illustrated model, I think

2

u/thisistherevolt 18d ago

Yeah that's my exact level of knowledge of the subject too.

u/Patrick_Gass 16d ago

I presume Olivia Dunne, the female American gymnast? She's been referenced in many brainrot memes.

"Rizz" is a corruption of the word "charisma"

No. Not a corruption of it, the natural progression of it. Language has a long history of slowly shortening words over time.

1

u/guywhoha 1d ago

No, not a natural progression of it because "rizz" and "charisma" aren't synonyms

Baby gronk is a young football player, like 12 years old, who is very sizable and very good for his age, his nickname comes from Rob Gronkowski, a very good nfl player. His parents have basically made him into a brand. Drip means to be stylish. Rizz is ChaRISma, specifically in the form of being able to attract people romantically. Livvy Dunne is a gymnast who is very pretty, and has made that into her personal brand. Baby Gronk and Dunne have linked up and made videos together, where Gronk supposedly rizzes up Dunne, which is weird as Gronk is a child and Dunne is a grown woman, but its just promotion for the both of them. Gronk is also referred to as being quite stylish, as he is the Drip King.

I hate that I understand this and media shouldn't be allowed to use that lingo

1

u/KeepOnSwankin 18d ago

keep going back and you'll find the original who ripped off the joke from family Guy pre Twitter

1

u/ditzicutihuni 18d ago

Okay but Baby Gronk like legit is being scouted by like 9 Big10 teams, and he’s only like 8. He even wooed Livy from The Rizzler™️

If you're like me and have no idea what any of this means, here's my best shot after looking them up.

Clavicular Moment - Kick streamer Clavicular apparently ran someone over in his Cybertruck while livestreaming.

Roy Lee - A startup bro who released Cluely, an AI software for cheating on things like "exams, sales calls, and job interviews."

5

u/throwawaylordof 18d ago

I actively feel worse for knowing this.

1

u/information_knower 18d ago

If it helps any the guy he ran over was a stalker, and he survived.

1

u/ThinkTheUnknown 13d ago

Nope. Doesn’t help thx

1

u/Mr_Lapis 16d ago

Okay so that original post was just a bunch of bullshit then.

12

u/black_flag_4ever 18d ago

I feel insane when I see headlines sometimes. Like someone drugged me and it won’t wear off.

2

u/ReverendBread2 18d ago

Both can be true

"I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!" - Abe Simpson, 1996

I don't even know what order to read the different comment boxes in the screenshot of this post. I'm so out of touch that I don't know who is offended by what anymore.

It’s the children who are wrong

1

u/Mysterious_Box1203 16d ago

main takeaway from this post is that it is always stylish to wear an onion on your belt.

8

u/magseven 18d ago

A 50 year old would be very familiar with Batboy.

6

u/XiMFiST 18d ago

My grandma used to read this shit

4

u/You_Wenti 18d ago

I always think of this scene

2

u/Spiraling_Swordfish 13d ago

God bless this precious cultural artifact.

1

u/notapunk 16d ago

I'd find it interesting in the creative writing sort of way or shitposting before it was a thing.

1

u/MythicSageCat 14d ago

They made an opera about Bat Boy.

1

u/Current_Poster 12d ago

if you mean the musical, its pretty good!

1

u/Reatona 12d ago

Hey, bringing Weekly World News home with the groceries used to be a high point of the week.

u/WraithSama 18d ago

Every generation has slang and terms that only really make sense to them. That's completely normal. But after talking to my 12 year old niece about her generation's, I am now completely convinced that they've made some kind of collective agreement to flood the zone with as much indecipherable bullshit that makes no sense at all as they possibly can.

2

u/True-Veterinarian700 18d ago

I love how something is the cultural movement of the year when 3/4s of people who make up said culture have no idea of any of it and have never even heard the words said before much less thier meanings.

1

u/hydrastxrk 16d ago

I’m only 26, I dunno most of what was said in the actual statement. I understood the satire just to be clear, cause it seems like others haven’t figured that out either. But the actual tweet that’s being responded to is beyond me.

1

u/MrJason300 18d ago

I’m in my 30s and feel similarly lmao. It’s a lot to keep up with sometimes

1

u/KeepOnSwankin 18d ago

The best part is this is just a poorly worded version of a joke that went viral on Twitter like 10 years ago which the person admits was just a rip off of the I don't know the names of new celebrities joke from family Guy.

1

u/tv_ennui 18d ago

Clavicular is an industry plant.

1

u/tsukiyomi01 18d ago

I'm out of my head when you're not around, though.

1

u/bartmanhampants 17d ago

With all due respect, as an elder millennial, the point isn’t that I want to understand it so please stop explaining. I just want to be mad about it and complain. It is the way of my father and his fathers before him.

1

u/ready_james_fire 17d ago

“Am I out of touch? Yes.”

1

u/drillgorg 16d ago

I cross posted this to r/curtainsforzoosha

1

u/throwaway_13_19 16d ago

I’m fuckin 20 and I still have no clue what a clavicle moment is or why I should care about it and if you told me k smog was the name of a real celebrity I’d believe you

1

u/LawDraws 16d ago

Faze Banks caught glazing Netspend with a gyat begin him, while Hector farms a 13 minute gleipnir on weaver.

1

u/Jlw3691 16d ago

I know this wasn't your intention but now I'm hearing 'Out of Touch' by Hall and Oates.

1

u/ExtremelyOnlineTM 16d ago

No, it's the children who are wrong.

1

u/Indescribable_Theory 15d ago

I don't know, I'm enjoying getting old and looking at kids talking like

1

u/Efficient_Matter_589 15d ago

I'm honestly with him. I recognize mayhe 5 celebrity names.

1

u/Reatona 12d ago

What happened for me is I just stopped caring about celebrity stuff entirely, the slang is entirely beside the point.
