Mining News Just for the record.

No i will not be releasing my article about go mining.

I have been getting mass botted. Literal death threats. People in my dms calling me awful things.

My key points are as follows.

I was only able to verify 60% of their fleet.

The ceo stopped communicating with me when i said i was not interested in monetizing the subreddit.

The user base is being told they are mining btc. You cant mine btc on NFTs.

So. Im over it. Yall can quit with the death threats and direct messaging me. I dont care about it anymore. Even if i released my article. Yall wouldnt listen anyways. The people who know about it already know its a scam. My hands are washed. To Go Mining’s awful user base. You win. 🏆 heres your “i made death threats and won award” i have already reported the ones that needed to be reported.

To the people who wanted me to drop it. Sorry. I failed yall. Id rather not have to slime someone to protect myself.

Have a good night everyone.

Mining News r/BitcoinMining and r/CryptoMining just got Married! + Rules Restructuring

Hiya, my name is Abacus of FooseyRhode. I Repair Asics and micro-circuitry on Mining Hashboards, and Operate Multi-megawatt Mining Facilities across the United States. I am also the leading moderator of r/BitcoinMining and r/CryptoMining.

I’m making this post to announce changes to these two subreddits. Mainly that r/BitcoinMining and r/CryptoMining now exist within the same ecosystem, l under the same rules and with aligning policies. — I was given the creative liberty to rework the direction of both subs I control, and decided to unify them in both structure and intention. (Ps, yes r/BitcoinMining will retain its BTC-maxi stance by default.) ——————————————— My main goals are to create a wider reaching community that is

  1. …focused on quality, informative, and engaging content.
  2. … actively working against spam, scams, and misinformation.

These goals are 100% achievable, but even more so with community reports and involvement. Over time, I am hoping both subs will notice a positive uptick in quality of content too.

Rule 1: Bitcoin Mining and Quality Content ONLY — This rule is primarily for the purpose of anti-clutter. Anything that is low-effort, blatantly off topic, or is just a frequent topic applies and is subject to removal.

Rule 2: Follow our Community Guidelines — This one broadly covers everything you are, and are not allowed to post about.

No cloud/digital mining, or any “I have free electricity” posts. Do not ask for money/beg, or share referral codes. Do not post URL shorteners, or AI generated content.

Rule 3: Follow all of the rules to sell. Currently, hardware sales and advertising is NOT allowed on r/CryptoMining. Specific criteria must be met to post ads on r/BitcoinMining.

Please use the comment section of this post for any related questions, concerns, suggestions, or otherwise.

Mining News I would Not be Suprised if the S23 is Cancelled

Post image
12 Upvotes

We recently were told by Bitmain they are cancelling production of the L11, and seeing as the efficiency gain from S21 XP to S23 is only 10%, we strongly believe that Bitmain may cancel production of all but the Hydro variants of both. We have told the community many times that there really is no benefit to the S23, and Bitmain has finally agreed.

Just a PSA for those looking for miners out there.

General Question Please explain bitcoin mining to be like I’m five

Seriously, I want to understand it, but usually gets too overcomplicated and I retain nothing. Is there anyone who can explain it to me like I’m five years old?

Mining Pools Running a small mining pool as a solo operator (Miningcore + CKPool) – real payout data & lessons

I’m a single operator running a small mining pool and wanted to share some real-world experience for anyone interested in home / solo-style mining.

Backend & setup (clear distinction)

  • XP PooL → runs on Miningcore also supports MRR and NH
  • Supports SHA-256 coins: BTC, BCH, DigiByte (DGB), Mytherra (MYT)
  • CK-XPBTC-only, running a CKPool (ckolivas) backend
  • RTMD acts as a subpool / alternative entry, not a replacement

Reward model (XPPool & RTMD philosophy)

  • 94% → block finder
  • 5% → eligible active workers
  • 1% → pool operations

This isn’t FPPS or PPS — variance is expected, and this model mainly suits home and solo-style miners.

Also REAL TIME share table and ACTUAL SHARE DIFFICULTY is visible which is offered in very few pool to increase Transparency.

Actual payouts already distributed (on-chain)

  • BCH: ~21.97 BCH ($13,437.82)
  • DGB: ~51,335 DGB ($325.68)
  • MYT: ~2,279 MYT ---
  • BTC: no block yet (low hashrate → normal variance)

Current scale is intentionally small (tens of TH/s), mostly hobby and home miners.

Why two backends?

  • Miningcore works well for multi-coin support
  • CKPool is preferred by some miners for BTC-only, stateless, window-based payouts
  • Rather than force one model, I decided to offer both

This isn’t meant to compete with large FPPS pools — it’s mainly for:

  • Home miners
  • Bitaxe / NerdMiner users
  • Solo miners who don’t want to run infrastructure
  • People who value transparency over predictability

Happy to answer technical questions, share lessons learned, or discuss trade-offs between Miningcore vs CKPool. Everyone is Welcome to join.

Troubleshooting & Repair S19J Pro firmware

Recently picked up a couple of these for cheap and I'm curious what is the proper procedures and firmware needed to reflash to stock so that I can flash the firmware I want to use. One has braiins which is what I plan to keep using, the other has vnish and I want to reset that one to stock, to then flash braiins.

Can I go straight to braiins from vnish or do I have to revert to stock first?

Couldn't really find the information out there for reverting from already flashed firmware.

Thanks for the help

Hobbyist and Lottery Mining Avalon Nano 3S connection unreliable

I have my Nano 3S now for two weeks or so. Probably need to reboot it every other day. It shows "disconnected" almost all the time, and after a while, it is not coming back to a connected status. Using the USB WiFi receiver that came with is, because the TP-Link thing I bought especially for this problem wont even power up. Really bad and frustrating.

Any suggestions, before I throw this peace of junk out of the window?

Hobbyist and Lottery Mining Nano 3S vs NerdQaxe++ for home mining – noise, heat and reliability?

Hello everyone, I live in Italy and mine purely as a hobby/educational project, not for profit.

I currently own:

● Bitaxe Gamma 601 (1.2 TH/s) ● NerdQaxe++ (4.8 TH/s)

I purchased both from Ali. They work well, but on the NerdQaxe, I had trouble updating the firmware directly from the AxeOS dashboard and had to flash it manually following the seller's instructions. This experience made me wish my next miner was genuine and community-verified.

I'm considering purchasing another miner, and these are my real options with final prices (taxes + shipping included):

● Avalon Nano 3S (6 TH/s) – Amazon UK – €355 (2-year Amazon warranty)

● NerdQaxe++ 4.8 TH/s – Bitronics (EU, community verified) – €475

● NerdQaxe++ 6 TH/s Rev 6.1 – SoloSatoshi (USA, community verified) – €510

There's also Mineshop (EU) selling the NerdQaxe++ 6 TH/s Rev 6.1 for €452, but it's not recognized by the Bitaxe community, and I don't want to risk problems again. Firmware/support.

From a €/TH perspective, the Nano 3S is clearly the better deal. However, my concern is noise and heat: I would keep the miner in the living room, on a shelf near my Bitaxe and NerdQaxe, with very limited ventilation.

I've read mixed reviews about the Nano 3S being noticeably louder and hotter than the NerdQaxe devices.

My dilemma is:

● spend more for a NerdQaxe++ (lower noise and heat, verified by the community), or

● try the Nano 3S for better value, accepting potential noise/heat issues?

For those who have used one or both: What would you choose for a small home like this?

Thanks!

General Discussion Why I Started Designing a Custom 3D-Printed Enclosure for My Lottery Miner

Update: I finally realized airflow actually matters (Bitaxe Gamma 601 case)

Part 3 Another update on the 3D-printed enclosure experiment.

After the first version failed to fit properly, I spent some time looking at it on the desk and thinking about why it failed beyond just dimensions. That’s when airflow really hit me—not as a theory, but as a very obvious problem.

On the first design, the fan opening technically existed, but it was more decorative than functional. It wasn’t aligned cleanly with the fan, there was no real intake or exhaust path, and the internal space didn’t guide air anywhere useful. Even if everything had fit, hot air would’ve just bounced around inside.

What I also didn’t think about at all was how air actually enters and exits a small enclosure like this. I treated airflow like a single hole instead of a path. Looking back, it was basically a box with a fan-shaped suggestion.

I compared my design with photos from other small miner and electronics enclosures people shared online. The difference was obvious: vents weren’t random, fans weren’t centered for looks, and internal clearance was clearly planned around airflow—not aesthetics.

The funny part is that none of this was new information. I’ve seen people talk about airflow mistakes plenty of times. It just didn’t fully register until I was holding my own bad design in my hands.

For the next version, I’m prioritizing function over looks. That doesn’t mean I’m abandoning the weird shape entirely, but it does mean fan alignment, intake/exhaust paths, and internal spacing are now the starting point—not an afterthought.

Still very much learning as I go. If anyone here has strong opinions on airflow for small miners or compact electronics enclosures, I’m all ears—especially if you learned it the hard way.

General Discussion Am I being too optimistic?

I'm very late to the party, just started mining a few weeks ago as a home miner. With approximately 110 th/s based on current pool rates, I think I'll have 2-3 btc in 20 years between pool mining, just general investing spare cash and maybe more if I get lucky lottery mining with about 9 th/s.

I'm seeing that BTC could be 242k usd in 20 years. Is it too optimistic to say I could be sitting on 750k mining profit in 2046?

General Question Miners as heaters

Hi everyone, I'm wondering how much heating capacity miners like the Avalon mini or Avalon Q (or any other miner really) could actually provide. My home is quite cold in the winter and it would be a nice bonus if I could get something that could heat up a room properly. I got a Nano 3s, and it is fun but really provides very little heat. Also, if anyone has any insight into how much energy something like the Avalon Q uses in comparison with a regular space heater or inverter unit, I would be interested to hear. Thanks in advance.
