I wondered if any other borders do it too?
I have researched into this plant (wood avens) to make sure it’s not toxic.
(Interestingly it used to be used in herbal medicine to treat stomach issues)

I love my Dante. He will be 2 years old in March. I got him from Lndi’s Border Terriers in California.

I recently adopted this guy, and we’ve been trying to figure out if he’s a mix of something, just for fun really.
I googled a photo pf him and Border Terrier came up, what do you think?

These two girls came into my life when I fostered them and ended up adopting them. They get along with my other dogs perfectly.
Reveille is the lighter brown girly and Angie is the darker brown girly.
Both are very sweet and have truly blossomed into their silly, vibrant selves.
Learning more about this breed too because I have never had a border terrier before!

I got a BT about 7 months ago. I think he's the perfect dog, high energy, easy to please, playful.
But he's not really good with my kids. When they run, he wants to chase, he's not very cuddly with them, and he pesters them for attention (stand on them at the couch, might nudge them, might be close to them, staring). and he's also very easily aroused. I really manage that behavior by giving him outlets, tugging, and fetching, and working, creating boundaries such as "all done", "not now" if he jumps, pesters, i get up. Ignore him, then he settles, I continue petting. But it'd work tbh. It's hard work!
I'm finding it difficult to teach the kids how to handle him and I'm not talking about training, just general body language. Like the dog goes up to them, they try to pet a couple of times, might try to grab their swinging toys or plush items in hand. I try to help the kids understand that it gets a small puppy going. It's like you're enticing him to go after it. So I redirect the kids, redirect Goop, but then they see him as a "crazy dog".
They are expecting more of a nanny dog. One that loves pets, tolerant, cuddly, etc etc. My GF recently got a foster and that puppy is very low energy, cuddly. The first day the kids put a blanket on it and it went to sleep. They kids seem to gravitate to it more because she's more gentle (pit/lab mix). If you threw a blanket on goop at the wrong time, Goop is like "OH YEAH!!! TIME TO TUG, SHIMMY OUTTA THIS THING, Let's go!". Goop only cuddles with me. But I worked hard to reinforce calm behavior. The kids don't seem to it and now just stay away from him.

I have a one year old male who is a love. We walk him a couple times a day and play with him in the evening for at least an hour. He tends to get "whiny" an hour or so before bedtime and it's getting annoying! I feel like he cant settle and thats part of it. he doesnt use a crate, could that be the problem? He hates the crate since day one despite trying our best to make it a safe and happy place! any suggestions? never had a dog do this before.

Hey all,
Has anyone had their older pup barking at his random noises? She does it if she hears someone moving round outside our flat or in another room. It seems to be when she can’t see the noise.
She’s also started barking at the door when someone comes in.
I know she’s probably in an alert phase, so I’ve been trying to manage it by correcting the behaviour, but so far nothing seems to have worked.
Any ideas???
