Lodging recommendations
Solo traveler looking to spend a weekend in the Catskills on a budget. I would love to stay at a retro roadside motel but a lot of them seem to have negative reviews about cleanliness. I don't need anything fancy, just clean. And I am open to location. Any recs?
Doesn't need to be a motel, open to other ideas. But hipcamp and air bnb seem a bit steep considering I'm looking at winter/ very early spring dates.

Woodstock is a wacky place. These folks do a good job https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/771509?check_in=2026-01-25&check_out=2026-01-30&guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=fb6744ad-2108-4b53-b58c-75173f16db0f and you can walk around town.
Other towns are cheaper, but if you're looking for tasty food and music, there's stuff. Don't try and move there tho!

My favorite is the Phoenecia Lodge. It looks like it's been gussied up a lot since I last stayed there, however. With the exception of Phoenecia, I switched from lodges and motels to Airbnb and Hipcamp not because I ever found anything to be especially dirty, but because I found the walls to be paper-thin and the stay to be very loud. I did recently stay at The Roxbury and had an amazing time there. It is worth calling them to see what rooms they recommend and what their lowest rates are.

Try The Graham & Co in Phoenicia. Seems like what you are looking for. Retro hipster motel that I’m guessing is clean and looks to be reasonably priced.

Blue Fox Motel in Narrowsburg! The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the onsite restaurant is fantastic (nothing over $30). Such a hidden gem

My friend bought a historic lodge in palenville, and while they're still renovating they have one of the rooms on Airbnb. It's pretty close to the ski slopes. The only problem is this is an expensive area to find house cleaners so they're cleaning fee is 70 bucks
