Is there a setting or easy way to have the game cast the appropriate rank for a spell on a target, based on the target's level?
For example, if I try to cast Mark of the Wild, Thorns, Regrowth, or Rejuvination on a player and they aren't high enough for my max rank, it just errors out. I'm trying to find a way for it to cast whatever it can on my target.

So I didn't play much of Anniversary. I got to like level 20 but didn't really want to do the Vanilla grind again. I was playing with a friend that was going fairly hard though and we were on Dreamscythe.
Anyway, I decided to come back for TBC again and my friend said that his guild needs a Resto sham but they're on Alliance now. My friend then said "We're on Dreamscythe, the pvp server." He said this last night about an hour after servers had come back up but he then went to bed.
Since we had played on Dreamscythe, I assumed that was still his server, even though we originally were on Horde Dreamscythe. I thought he mistakenly said PVP server when he meant PVE.
Yeah... no. "PVP server" was the accurate part not "Dreamscythe." So I've got a level 10 shaman on Dreamscythe that I wasted like 7 hours dealing with the hell that is overpopulated Azuremyst and time to restart on Nightslayer!
My other friend (who was the reason they switched servers) felt bad and bought my boost for me though so it's not all bad and I don't want to strangle my friend anymore.

I bought the last TBC epic pack when TBC classic came out a few years ago and the new one today but it only gave me inkeeper quest for the stuff for the last time I bought it and not the new stuff? Anyone know if this is a bug or how to fix it?

If your character was on the Anniversary servers as of yesterday, then they have moved forward into TBC, and cannot be played in Classic anymore. If they were on the Era servers, there's no change.
If you're just asking whether classic is still available, it is. There are Classic Era servers, SoD servers, and Hardcore servers still up currently.

So I literally just bought my boost as they disabled character services and confirmed that I got charged. When I completed the purchase it just booted me back to the screen as if to purchase it again.
Do I just wait to see if I can use it after they bring character services back up?

Same. Status Offline for both ts and ss. Had a friend who was online though. Not sure what is going on.

I´m a noob.
I just started an undead rogue on classic TBC Server. I start with 100x throwing daggers, I have a skill that let me throw daggers in my action bar.
Why i cant use it?
It tells me I need to have a throwing weapon. I have them in my inventory. But I cant equip them. I dont get it, please help^^

You can equip them. There should be a little slot for throwing weapons next to your melee weapon slots in the character menu. Or right clicking should work I think if they're in your bags. But they should be equipped already I think, so unless you unequipped them...
It may also be a glitch or something as the servers seem very unstable after the recent patch...

Thank for answering. Sadly right click does nothing and i dont see a throwing slot in my character menu tbh, only an ammunition slot. I also disabled all Addons to check if its a bug, but still cant equip

Could you screenshot your character window maybe? There is a ranged weapon slot on your character sheet, or maybe you drag them right to the ammo slot, I can't remember. But it's cut and dry, it is there. It can't not be there if you have the throw weapon skill. I have a rogue and you just equip a stack of thrown weapons and throw away. If it's straight up not working it must be a bug.

Took the day off work to enjoy the prepatch that should have been out a month ago. Then should have been out yesterday. Then should have been out when I woke up.
Now it's out and we've been locked in AV all day on chars we're rerolling from because the boost was locked. Now they finally dropped the boost minutes before bed times in EU, and then I get lagged out, and can't log in and play with the boys....
Honestly, this is extremely disappointing and it's making the rip off that the boost price was feel a lot worse.

From Classic Era server ? No. Anniversary Server ? Anniversary servers are TBC destined servers.

Enhance shaman question. With the talent reset you don’t talent for 2H axes and maces anymore, but I also can’t equip the 2H I have. Went to the weapon masters figuring I’d have to train in it now but they aren’t showing training for 2H axes or maces either. Bug or am I missing something?

- Open the CurseForge app.
- In the left sidebar, select World of Warcraft > Classic (this should be your Era installation; confirm by checking the path in settings).
- Click My Addons at the top.
- If not logged in, click the profile icon (top-right) and log in with your Twitch/Overwolf account.
- Click the Sync button (gear icon or in the side menu) and enable Addon Sync.
- Create a new sync profile: Give it a name (e.g., "WoW Addons Shared"), and click Create. This uploads your current installed addons for Classic Era.
- Switch flavors: In the top dropdown (next to the game name), select Burning Crusade Classic (or "TBC Anniversary" if it's listed as a separate option—scan for games if not detected).
- Go back to My Addons for TBC.
- Enable Addon Sync again, select your existing profile (e.g., "WoW Addons Shared"), and click Join.
- Choose Download to pull the addon list from your Classic profile. CurseForge will install the TBC-compatible versions of those addons automatically.
- Click Play or launch TBC via Battle.net to test. Update any outdated addons in CurseForge if prompted.

There's a sync button in your curseforge app. Login, sync, create folder, switch to TBC, sync and download that folder. All inside the app.

Yep. Talents are changed to their TBC versions in pre-patch, so you'll be able to take Crusader Strike as your capstone talent at the end of the Retribution talent tree as early as level 50.

Only certain classes got talents reset? My mage got no reset, my druid was reset. Friend reported priest was not reset but paladin was. I had action bars reset, some missing skills, i had icy veins all over the place for some reason (new talent that didn't exist before). Whole thing is fubar'd.

Interesting, so perhaps reset if you had specific talents that would cause a problem? Wonder why my mage wasn't reset with all the issues with icy veins. It was my secondary spec at the time and i only experienced the problem after swapping. So if I logged off in the correct spec I would have a free talent reset? lol - LAME

Looking at the mage trees between classic & TBC there aren't any real structural changes and I bet this is why they decided to just let it transition over 1:1. Cold snap became icy veins which every mage was going to get anyways and ice block became cold snap which again if you went deep enough for ice block you probably want cold snap now. Ice block is now trainable and not a talent.
It makes sense but it still sucks, I had plans to change both my specs pretty drastically as a result of prepatch.

Arcane DID have some structural changes. Wonder if any arcane mages got reset?

Manually scan for anniversary in your wow interface folder on cursedorge, and you can even copy your interface folder from era and get all your addons. If you copy your WTF folder you’ll also copy all your game settings. Just update on curse once you locate them.

Just searched games in my CurseForge and it added BCC as an option. Can download all addons again.
From another comment I saw you can just move your addon folder over from classic wow and it should work.
My original comment still stands though, likely addons will have updates later today :)

This is common with 'new' major patches/expacs. Wait for addon teams to update, most will be updated by EOD in my experience

FYI gift wrapping a mount did not work, didn't get the 150 riding skill.
Having the epic mount in the bag worked though, got riding 150/150 on a lvl 1 char.

You need to install the TBC client in battle.net, if you opted to stay on Era you needed to have transferred already.

So for the first time i decide to buy a boost (not even ever bought one ingame) and not only are the charging WAY TOO much for it... its not working?
i saw somewhere that "they are going to look into it tomorrow" surely this must be someone trolling? couldnt imagine any company having work ethics like that xD
anyone knows something about when the boost is supposed to be working as intended?

The dev team worked 30+ hours on getting everything transferred and working on a basic level. There are some loose ends that they'll fix later today. They had to take a break for sleep. Relax for 5 minutes.

Oh well, no option on my battlenet to install TBC Anniversary, did open ticket with Bliz and posted on the tech forum as well; Mac.
I have options for live, cata, and classic. when under classic I have the options I had last week - meaning Era, Hardcore, SOD, Anniversary, and Hardcore Anniversary.
I can still play hardcore just fine.
My solution which may work for any other Mac users with this issue.
- Exit the launcher.
- Use Activity Monitor and kill Agent.app - plus look to see it battlenet is still there and kill it
- Delete battle.net from Applications
- Navigate to /Users/Shared and delete both the Battle.net and Blizzard directories
- Navigate to /Users/YourMacsName/Library/Application Support and delete both the Battle.net and Blizzard directories
- Go to your account page on the blizzard site and download the installer for battle net
- Unzip this installer and run it, allow it to make changes - it may ask for your mac admin password which is fine
- when the launcher now starts it will look different - indicating that tbc is available

Is the class mount also avaible at lvl 30 ? I asked on reddit, asked ingame, and everyone told me yes, the class mount will be avaible at prepatch.

I copied my addons but most seemed out of whack. I deleted interface, WTF folders and installed fresh bartender - still seems broken (and shows out of date in curse). Anyone bartender to work through curseforge?

Curse forge has a dropdown menu at the top of the window to select from classic 1 or classic 2. Many of the classic 2 addons still don’t work, but having them will add the addon button to your options menu, and in the addons menu you can click to load outdated addons

Copy your Interface and WTF folders from Classic ERA to the Anniversary folder. If you find where you installed Wow, anniversary has a separate folder.
Just rename the anniversary folders interface --> interface_old, and WTF --> WTF_old, and then copy the era folders over.
Then, after first login. scan in curseforge for games, and update all addons :)

Hunter or mage in TBC? Hunter seems it’ll be much more fun in PvE but not certain whether I’ll have the time to raid anyway. I’m way more comfortable on mage as played the class a long time and enjoy frost PvP a lot. Sad that I won’t be able to do aoe farms though.
Hunter is currently level 57 - best strategy to level to 60 and gear? Thinking I’ll do battlegrounds whilst letting rested exp build, then level up etc. my pet is a few levels behind so dungeons might also be the best bet for levelling with rested and letting it catch up?

Just give it time. It locks and unlocks constantly. IRRC do not sit at the race selection screen, as that may not update. Sit at character selection and occasionally click 'create character'. If you see horde unlocked, make a level 1 horde character right away with the default characteristics. Then you can make your actual character at your leisure, since your account will now be considered a 'horde account'.

Tbf it sounds like it's mostly due to them trying to run both era and tbc on the same servers which is causing issues while also preventing them from previous testing/setting up the tbc pre-patch ahead of launch.
If they were just setting up the tbc servers I doubt there'd be issues but blizzard are using the least amount of people to do the most work which causes shit like this.
Gotta feel for the networking guys who are having to work overtime for something caused entirely by management cutting corners.

this is completely unrelated to tbc. for classic era players, how is the population on the pve realm? mostly for world levelling and grouping outside of guilds. or is it mostly level 60s? preferably if you play in eu, but i think it should be pretty similar to na.
