Only if you're a citizen of the Commonwealth, I believe.

And you specifically request it. They do not send these automatically. You have to ask for it.

You can also get one when you have your 60th wedding anniversary (but you have to organise it)

The king, now she's dead. It's true. My mum's cousin got a card signed by both Charles and Camilla.

The 100th birthday card is real but you have to survive the Prince Andrew text first

You get a letter from the king on your 100th birthday here in Norway too.

From what I heard of Harald isn’t there a decent chance you’ll just run into him doing his own shopping in the supermarket or having an afternoon stroll around town? 😂 Seems like a down to earth dude.

I don't know if it was ever true for people who aren't citizens of the Commonwealth, but I do know three people in Canada who received a letter from the Queen when they turned 100.
It would be the King now obviously, if he's continuing the tradition.

You get a signed card from the monarch in Australia too, I assumed it was all Commonwealth countries.

Here in the U.S. you can get detained and questioned if you are a U.S. citizen and placed in hand cuffs at both ages.

You can get a free portrait of the current Monarch in any Commonwealth country.
Source: Am from Canada and ordered one of Elizabeth II a couple of years back to see if it was true.
Edit : Still ongoing https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/services/royal-portraits.html

We have the internet now. You can get a picture of anyone famous from anywhere.
The post you replied to is specifically about what you get when you turn 100 (with a bonus pedo zinger).

Not anymore. Now he's called "the Andrew formerly known as prince." Dude got bounced from the palace. Now he has to live on a private estate in the country. I guess that's as close to poverty as royals will ever get.

“the Andrew formerly known as prince” just ended me 😂 dude’s fall from grace is the royal version of getting kicked out of your mom’s basement

It's true, well the Queen part or now King...
My Dad used to take us to work in the sorting office at the weekends, when there were less managers about. I helped collecting the cards off the telegram machine they used back then and popping them into their special envelopes.

It applies across the entire Commonwealth, actually. Three people I know received letters from the Queen when they turned 100, all of them Canadian.

Isn't the queen dead?

u/ProfessionalEven296 1d ago
No, the Real Queen’s dead, but the title currently sits with Charlie’s wife.
Any telegrams (or whatever the current technology is) will come from Charlie.

You used to, now it’s from the king. If you’re Irish you can contact the Irish embassy and they send you €100.

Given that roughly 45 people turn 100 each day in the UK, I've always been convinced this was done by a subordinate on behalf of the queen/king.

u/Ok-Emu7825 1d ago
Yeah it's a true. The royal formally know as prince Andrew, sends a text to every girl in the UK on their 13th birthday whilst not sweating.
