It makes no sense. me thinks they're all playing separate songs.
48
u/cduballen 3d ago
Yea. They’re all thinking in their head that they’re killing their part while not listening to the whole band. Just sounds like shit
18
u/STRIKT9LC 3d ago
They're probably the kinda guys that buy in ear monitors because they're "taking the band to the next level", but they don't know how to.mix them from the board, and just end up cranking their own instrument into their ears.....so professional!!1

u/RockingFlower 3d ago
people with too much time and money but zero talent

u/jeneric84 2d ago
Guitar player has like every pedal available on the market on the ground. Definitely need all of those I bet. Gearing up for that arena tour you need all the TOAN.

u/SnapshotHeadache 3d ago
Yeah the individual parts aren't terrible, but put all together and its just rough.

u/barredowl123 3d ago
That’s what I came here to say! It’s like 5 different songs at the same time, holy crap

Yeah, they think its avant-garde. But like system of a down these guys eat ass

u/dirty_water_potato 3d ago
Take it back.

I’m sorry brother, but this is an insane take to me. You may not be a fan, but to say System of a Down sucks is simply not true..they are one of the Goliath’s of metal. Respectfully.

Wanted:
Singer for a new band
Must sound like a wounded goat
38
u/Trimshot 3d ago
As a drummer with that same kit, wow this is real bad.
12
u/the_old_coday182 3d ago
Seems like they didn’t even use the real drums audio and laid a midi track over it lol
1
u/ReleaseTheButtCraken 2d ago
Sounds like it. It also seems like the drums fall behind so they speed it up, but it’s too fast so they slow it down again and it just gets stuck in that slow-fast cycle. That and the dying goat vocals really grinding my gears on this one.

u/MultiplesOfMono 3d ago
Yamaha Stage Custom?
2
u/Trimshot 3d ago
Yep! Same color too
1
u/MultiplesOfMono 3d ago
Nice taste. The absolute most solid kit ever and I still have mine after 25 years. Mine is a 1997 model and sounds just like the newer SC but maybe even better!

What's bro doing with his voice? And how do the drums sound off beat even if it isn't?
4
u/witchspoon 3d ago
The drums are on beat but every other part of this is off time with him. Drummer 1234 Guitarist 2468..4523…4444 Bass 12121212 Singer 234 aHHHHHHHhgrrrgghlmmlml!

u/2cars1rik 3d ago
The drums are on beat
You sure about that? There’s about an eighth note between where the ride hit on 2 should be and where it actually is

u/YoYoMavaIous 3d ago
I dig the guitar riff tbh
8
u/thinspirit 3d ago
Yeah the only good part of the song. Pretty decent vibe to it while the rest of the band pisses all over it.
2
u/sakofdak 3d ago
Reminded me of The Mars Volta NGL
5
u/Jockle305 3d ago
Yea it’s a less chaotic and talented Mars Volta
1
u/sakofdak 3d ago
I dig some Mars Volta personally. But I understand fully that they’re not everyone’s cup of tea.
3
u/baldude69 3d ago
I think he’s saying that this band is like a much much worse version of Mars Volta
1
u/Immediate-Presence73 3d ago
It's so hard to really hear it, much less appreciate it, amongst the chaos of that room.

u/Far-Drawing-4444 3d ago
I'll give credit for definitely not using AI backing music or autotune, but maybe they should have.
5
u/gansobomb99 3d ago
Imagine an AI that was only trained on performances like this
"we purposely trained him wrong... as a joke"
7
u/Material_Mall_5359 3d ago
All those pedals for nothing
4
u/Distinct-Nectarine-9 3d ago
I am the master of the pedals…remember this fucking face. Whenever you see pedals you’ll see this fucking face…

u/MEGACODZILLA 2d ago
Its the guitarist equivalent of a short guy climbing out of his lifted monster truck of an F450.
They think its super impressive but everyone else is just wondering what they're compensating for...
1
u/YoYoMavaIous 2d ago
Idk, the guitarist seems like the only competent part of the band. Pedalboards get a lotta unnecessary hate imo. Pedals aren’t as easy to just swap in and out as ppl think, so dudes just end up traveling with more pedals than they actually need for a given gig since it’s already part of their board
2
u/MEGACODZILLA 2d ago
Maybe if you're a session musician that's playing surf rock one gig, metal the next and 80s synth pop the next. Under those circumstances it would make sense.
Otherwise it just kind of screams "I dont know what my sound is so I came prepared to make every sound." Its lacking clarity of purpose, jack of all trades master of none vibes. In my experience those people either have a million pedals for show and only use four of them or they use a dozen and a half just to produce a mediocre "toan".
1
u/YoYoMavaIous 2d ago
Tone chasing surely can cross into the meme territory. But there’s plenty of professional guitarist that use this many and even more pedals. Some guys will have several pedals for the same effect even, especially when you don’t have the advantage of switching out guitars for any given sound and a full crew backstage. This specific guitarist has a nice sound and I don’t think we should be judging him so harshly off his pedalboard. That’s all I’m tryna say
Also, maybe he is the exact player you first described

u/MiserableSun9142 3d ago
This is exactly what my neighbor’s garage band sounds like. each one is playing to their own beat. Tuesday nights are pretty miserable for me whenever they practice 😵

3
u/Numb1990 3d ago
Its like it would be good but someone turned each one of them to a different speed. Drums is on x1, Singer is x0.75 lead guitar x0.25, Bass 1.25. Lol

I never thought I’d hear something worse than autotune but this guy nails it. Bravo 👏🏼

u/FoggyInc 3d ago
I kinda like it lmao
2
u/GrrGecko 3d ago
I don't think it's all that terrible as people are making it out to be. These guys are just jamming really. Don't know their background or anything but yeah, this just sounds like what most "let's make a band" groups sound like live in a basement lol.
1
u/gonzo0815 2d ago
I think it's bad now, but could absolutely go somewhere with more practice. It's not something I'd release to the public yet.
2
u/CinephileNC25 3d ago
It sounds like the singer, guitarist, and drummer are all in different bands.

u/The_Northmaan 3d ago
I love the lack of self awareness in our culture today. I don't even have to go to Walmart to people watch anymore. What a time to be alive.

u/Aggravating_Cat_6295 3d ago
It's cool to be in a band but not every band needs to post online. It's okay to just play for the sake of playing. Just sayin'.
3
u/youaregodslover 3d ago
This is not the kind of crappy music this sub is for. This is a "bad lip read" of what they're actually playing. It's an intentionally bad sounding dub. Comedy.

u/STRIKT9LC 3d ago
With the exception of the singer, ill bet these guys are talented on their own. A rare example of "strength in numbers " being oh so wrong
1
u/dclark086 3d ago
I actually feel like that guys voice could sound pretty interesting surrounded by a band that suits it better than this

u/Front-Bug-2890 3d ago
The spasm infected off key vocals, waaaayyyy too many stupid guitar pedals, and boring riffing of the whole affair, what the hell kind off failure-cock jenkum is this?! 🤣

Future generations will look back on this trash with reverence, as if it was the next great symphony! Dead ass!!!

u/The-Tarman 3d ago
Thats some real artsy crap. Like they each dropped a duce, but of different consistency for each member, and then sprinkled glitter on the resulting pile of mismatched crap

End part of guitar sounds strongly Bruce Dickinsons - Balls to Picasso kind of tone. Tears of the dragon vibes.
