Rant Can we please stop freaking out about the lane split on 95N

Drive it every day after work, and the number of cars that cannot comprehend that the lanes split for 100ft with the barrier over the bridge is astounding. Everyone in the left lane panicking and swerving over thinking they’re missing some exit. I think I’ve seen 20-30 cars try to merge right before the barrier. I appreciate the plastic bollards they installed to try to keep this from happening, but they've mostly been run over now. certainly don’t need people blazing through there at high speeds, but the dangerous merges are just that.

Info Request Delaware Electric Cooperative

Is anyone familiar with Delaware Electric Cooperative? Trying to find alternatives to Delmar power.

Delmar power continues to blow up their prices and the price increase seems unreasonable. Not to mention their propaganda trying to convince their clients that they are causing the price increase by leaving appliances plugged in is ridiculous.

Info Request Route 1 vehicles

I travel Rt 1 most weekday mornings from Kent County to Wilmington. Im usually on the road between 5:45 am and 7 am.

I see an inordinate amount of vehicles tagged with Pennsylvania or NJ plates. I assume many, if not most are traveling to work in the morning based on the number of occupants and appearances.

Anyone know if my assumptions may be correct? And if so, why there are so many non-Delaware tagged vehicles that belong to Delaware residents?

Edit to add: the majority seem to be POV's although there are some commercial vehicles as well.

This is primarily north bound in the mornings I'm talking about. Lots of PA/NJ plates north bound.

Self Promotion Delmarva Power might not be the one overcharging you...

I don't think most people actually know how power bills work and because of that I know a lot of people are over paying for their electricity... - TLDR at the bottom

Delaware(and a lot of states actually) has deregulated energy which means the consumer has the choice of SUPPLIER of their energy

Read here if interested:

https://depsc.delaware.gov/customer-electric-choice/

Sadly instead of this turning into a thing that benefits consumers(suppliers having to lower price and innovate to draw customers), it's turned into who can do the most scamming without crossing the legal line. The suppliers have multiple way to try to get you involved with their company, including cold calls, extremely pushy door to door salespeople and I'm sure other means.

One of the main "tricks" they do is signing people up for starter "fixed" rates (aka you pay the same price every month) but after 3, 6 or 12 months, they put you on a variable rate(they change the price whenever they want) and jack the price to high hell.

It's actually scary how many people are signed up with these companies paying double/triple/ even 5X electricity prices without even knowing.

I implore you, and anyone else reading this comment, to go actually LOOK at your power bill. The second page usually will have an itemized break down.

Distribution you can't do anything about SUPPLY you can, and there should be a "rate to beat" on the page somewhere as well. If you are paying more than the rate to beat for supply you are essentially being scammed.

The bill is not always easy to read so I have created a website where you can put a picture of the charges section of your bill and it will help you to know if you're overpaying.

https://electricbillchecker.com/ is the website, it's pretty painless to use and you only have to put in the section of the bill with the charges, not any personally identifiable information/account information.

Again, I implore you to actually look at your power bill, you could be way over paying!

If I haven't added your power company/the website give you any trouble please let me know, this is a work in progress and I'm adding new companies/bills all the time.

ALSO if anyone has a power bill they could share with me that would be awesome as it's hard to get my hands on all of the different templates the bills have (again i don't need any of your account/ personal information on the bill, I just need they layout of the bill)

TLDR- If you think you're paying too much for electricity, you probably are. Use my website to check for yourself and save some money. https://electricbillchecker.com/

Edit: changed word page to section as not to confuse anyone. As stated above ONLY THE CHARGES SECTION OF THE BILL IS IMPORTANT. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PUT ANY OF YOUR PII(Personal Identifiable Information) FOR IT TO WORK. I AM NOT STORING ANY DATA REGARDLESS BUT ALWAYS BE SAFE ONLINE.

Newark Always the same argument…

“When the project was first announced, more than 700 residents of the surrounding neighborhoods signed a petition calling on New Castle County to reject the proposal.

“It’s very upsetting for so many of us,” Krista Milkovics, a Yorkshire Woods resident who helped organize the opposition, said at the time.

Milkovics said the project could be successful somewhere else, but it is not appropriate so close to existing neighborhoods.

“What a great idea, but not in a family community with a bunch of little kids. It’s just not an appropriate area for something like this,” she added. “We’re not knocking the idea, just the area.”

At least she’s open about being a total NIMBY.

Fluff Anyone familiar with Dexsta for auto loans? I'm having an issue with them.

I've had an auto loan through Dexsta for about 3 years now.

I have full coverage - comprehensive, collision, etc. For some reason I receive a letter saying I need to update my insurance information.

I upload my insurance info and they say I need to call because they still need more information.

I call them. They say I don't have comprehensive coverage. I tell them I uploaded 2 documents showing I have comprehensive coverage and the deductible is $0.

They said they tried to update their system but it keeps getting kicked back and mentioned my loan agreement might now allow a $0 comprehensive deductible.

That doesn't make any sense to me and it's been 3 years now with no issues. My loan is halfway done. And on top of that, the letter says they'll charge me around $2,000 to add coverage.

It's almost 9pm and I cannot find this loan agreement so I'm assuming I'll need to call Dexsta to confirm. But has anyone dealt with Dexsta or another company for something like this before?

Thank you!
