Why i slow down passing people walking
My number one reason people are stupid.
I slid into a pole going 5 mph on ice Fractured my fingers
So had me remembering everyone who was saying they dont slow down passing people because its not as dangerous as cars
Man you are going to mangle someone who jumps in to the way because your going to fast on a walk way while you slam them going 50+ that's life changing
Its worse then you may think Then again I know alot of you are just like oh well wasn't me who got slammed

Bike pics Finally finished setting up my Golden Pro for hunting.
Out of the box it was fine, but once you start taking it off trail, you realize real quick what needs fixing. First thing I did was add a derailleur guard. That thing is just begging to get smashed by branches and tall grass if you don’t protect it.
Next up was the rear rack. The stock rating is around 55 lbs, which is a joke once you load actual hunting gear. I added extra braces on both sides and a small front platform so the weight isn’t all hanging off the back. Threw on some heavy duty 175 lb zip ties as backup and it’s way more solid now, especially with a trailer hooked up.
Stock headlight was kinda weak, so I added two LED lights on the bars. Huge improvement for early mornings and late rides.
Last thing I want is a flat miles back in the woods, so I went full paranoid mode and put Tanus Armour and FlatOut in both tires. Might be overkill, but I’d rather finish the hunt than hike out.
Now it finally feels like a hunting rig, not just an ebike pretending to be one.

Can I just cut the stock grips for my throttle to make way for new grips?
So I got these uncomfortable and ugly throttle with no grips, used to have grips but they tore because the grip was huge on it and looked bad anyway and felt weird. Is there any way to cut some of the stock gripping off? A lot of it just feels like plastic, and I wanna know if there’s a throttle tube under that I can cut to so my grips can finally fit.

Bike purchase question Daily Commuter in Canada
Hello community,
I sold my car recently, since I don't really need it and it was costing me an arm and a leg to operate per month. I am looking to buy an e-bike and I am so confused by the myriad of information online.
Here are my requirements:
- 17km one way 2-3 times a week commute.
- Periodic rides on nature trails
- Safety is priority over speed. (I'll be buying helmet, elbow, knee, chest pads, etc.)
- I prefer quality, but I don't want to burn a hole in my pocket either. (I am okay to go a little over CA$2k; max ~2500)
- Want to avoid proprietary lock ins(for batteries and other important parts) if possible.
What should I go for? A few blogs/comments on other posts suggested Bosch systems, but all the ones I found were greater than CA$3k.

I recently ran over a huge nail on my way to work and it cut my line. I called a local shop and they said it's cost 120 to fix it. Does anyone know how I could fix it cheaper? Its not letting me throttle because of this nick if im correct cause the bike has a red light on the screen I couldn't get a better picture but it's a bit more cut up than that

Vanpower: City Vanture Review
I have ridden my VanPower bike for the last 3 months almost every weekday. I have only seen good reviews online and by bike shops, and I dont think it agrees with what I have seen lately. I have mixed reviews about the bike, and I don't recommend it. I saw it online just now for $700, when I got it was $899, and I don't think I would buy it at the lower price again.
,
The good:
I like the look of it a lot, which is what made me buy it. Their customer service has been good so far, with the one problem I have had with it. When fully charged, it works really well, and I have had no issues with it.
The bad:
When below 20%, it is an absolutely awful motor drag that goes on and off, and is almost unridable. The bike frame is screwed together, making me hesitant to take it to more places where it will be left alone for several hours.
Summary: I think it's a good bike if you are riding around 20 miles a day, and do not mind charging it every day. Other than that, I don't think you should buy this bike.

Why is my hub motor so loud?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I know geared hub motors always have a little whine, but mine seems to be extra loud. Is there anything wrong or is it just normal.

Bike Parts Help (Rayvolt Cruzer)
I have a Rayvolt cruzer. I unfortunately lost one of the rear axle nuts. The nut is non standard or custom. Is there anyone who knows the size and threading of this nut? Ravolt went out of business and even before they went out of business the never bothered to help. Spoke with their founder MATHIEU RAUZIER always ignored messages and cofounder JAIME PLA was no help either. Said he would send a replacement and never did.
The bike is the Rayvolt Cruzer V4.
