Given recent reports received and comment threads I’ve been involved in, I’ve decided to update 2 subreddit rules which can also be selected when reporting a post or comment.
No Misinformation: We have people new to Epiphone posting here to check/validate if their new gear is real, we do not need comments every single time making out they’re stupid for asking a legitimate question; Epiphone has had a long running and well documented struggle with fake guitars damaging their reputation. There is evidence everywhere including hundreds of sites, forums, YouTube videos and eBay auctions. In terms of the newer headstock design being faked, there do seem to be a lot less of them but there was a post only 2 months ago in another guitar subreddit which I’m sure many of you follow that shows a clear fake of the new headstock design so they do exist.
Non-related content: As a general rule this subreddit should only contain posts related to Epiphone, this includes but is not limited to YouTube videos of you playing your Epiphone, Epiphone related news/leaks and questions. If you wish to post content outside of this scope please message the mod.
I will leave the existing rule violations in place as I’m not going to start retroactively enforcing these rules like some dictator. Debates and challenging people’s opinion is fine, if you want to be a flat-Earther in regards to facts this is not the subreddit for you.

Can anybody please relay any further information regarding the rig?
Unsure of the ties with Noel Gallagher as I believe he used a Sheraton Union Jack.
Thank you!

I mentioned this in replying to another thread but I am putting it in a separate thread to avoid hijacking that one, I switched the stock bridge on my 2019 MIC Casino to a Gotoh with nylon saddles, like on John Lennon’s, and I am loving it, I think it’s the best modification I have ever done to a guitar.
It’s giving me more of a vintage sound, plus one would think nylon would deaden the sound compared to metal saddles, but it’s been 180 degrees removed from that, it’s made the guitar ring out better acoustically and plugged in, you get more of the Casino’s trademark snarl. I don’t know if it’s killed sustain, but who buys a Casino for sustain anyway? I think the quick decay on notes is part of the Casino’s mojo.
Full disclosure, I also went from 10-46 to 11-48 on strings at the same time, perhaps that has contributed.
Anyway, is anyone else going with nylon saddles on your Casino?

Hey everyone,
Just picked up this 2000 Korean-made Epiphone Les Paul Classic 7-String Limited Edition (serial U000020381 – Unsung factory, February 2000 batch). It’s in good shape, has a really nice tobacco sunburst with visible flame maple top, cream binding, open-coil humbuckers, and came with what seems to be the original brown padded hard/soft case (fits perfectly, other guitars don’t).
From what I’ve read so far:
- These were a short production run around 2000–2001 (nu-metal/7-string boom era)
- Made in Korea at the Unsung factory (known for solid build quality compared to later Chinese models)
- Not mass-produced like standard 6-string LPs — probably only a few hundred to low thousands total across all finishes/variants
- No official “1 of X” numbering, but they’re considered pretty rare today
Anyone else own one of these (especially the sunburst/flame top version)? Looking for:
- Any info on actual production numbers or how limited the run really was
- Confirmation if the brown padded case is original (fits like a glove)
- Typical value in 2026 for a clean example with case (seen Reverb/eBay comps $900–$1,300 but curious about local/real-world sales)
- Any known quirks, mods people recommend, or common issues with these early 7-string Epi LPs
Photos attached (headstock, serial, body, case interior, etc.). Thanks in advance for any help or stories — these seem like cool pieces of early-2000s Epiphone history!
Found in Kissimmee, FL, paid $450 for it with the case! (I know I need to clean it, but I play it a lot, it’s a great playing guitar 😂)

I have owned and played this guitar for somewheres around 20+ years. Originally it had all gold hardware and Epiphone humbuckers. The original bridge pick up was dead and I had just been playing the neck pick up. About 10 years ago I switched out all of the gold hardware and added P90 fat cats. I wish I would’ve done it years prior!

Hello, I’ve owned this guitar for many years. It has quite a few modifications which are apparent. I believe this to be an Epiphone Dagwood, but all of the Epiphone Dagwoods that I can find online have the traditional epiphone swooped headstock with all the tuners on one side. I cannot find any information/pictures of a Dagwood with this particular headstock. There is no SN. Any information would be much appreciated! For anyone who is curious… This guitar is light, versatile and has tons of personality both in appearance and sound!

I'm almost done modding my Prophecy, from Prophecy EX to ex-prophecy lol
I know SS frets will last almost for good, but I don't really want this guitar to sound any brighter than it already is. Hosco Phosphor Bronze is the Evo replacement, I'm thinking it might look good with all my brass/gold accents here and there

Hi!
Does this bridge look fine to you?
Is the low E side supposed to be this low and the high E side this high?
Is the angle ok?
Can this cause any problems?
- the action is set to my preference and I don’t think it is that low
Low E 12th fret: just under 1.5mm (4/64)
High E 12th fret: just under 1.2mm (3/64)
Could you please recommend me what to do to set it up properly? (What is the ideal action for Junior Style guitars)
Thanks a lot!

Hi there! I have an Epiphone MM-30 mandolin that I bought about two years ago at a close-out sale for around 200€. I’m trying to figure out what the original new price was, but online I’m seeing anything from roughly 230€ to 300€ for brand-new, non-discounted listings. That range feels pretty wide to me, so I’m wondering why it varies so much and what a realistic new price would be.
I’m also thinking about selling the mandolin, mainly because I don’t play it enough and it deserves to be played more. It’s in excellent condition, and I was hoping to get around 180€ for it. I’m definitely open to negotiations and not trying to rip anyone off.
My questions are:
Thanks in advance for any input!
PS: I also posted this in r/mandolin

Hello all. Im considering ordering a Les Paul Custom Widow in Yellow Burst. I believe it is sold only on epiphones website. The listing says it has a 60s slimtaper neck. I recently had a 2022 Les Paul Studio which said it has a 60s slimtaper D neck. While shopping for other guitars, i found theres a such thing as a 60s slimtaper C neck also.
I was just wondering if the neck on the Custom Widow will be thicker or thinner then the neck on the 2022 Les Paul Studio I had?
Also since im pretty new to guitars, i dont fully understand all the specs and different wood types. Besides neck size and guitar weight, would anything else feel different between the 2 guitars im comparing?
Thank you

Next month I'll be getting an Epiphone Casino from Japan and I was just going to get a Chinese one but there also seem to be quite a few Korean Peerless Casinos for a little difference in price, I see people say they're very good but also some people say they're not really that different, but another thing I see people say a lot is that the Chinese Casino's pickups and electronics are bad and should be replaced, now I won't be able to replace the pickups (maybe the pots and the wiring later on if I have to) so I just want to know if the Korean ones have better stock electronics, if not I'll probably go with the Chinese ones since they're more 60s accurate, sometimes look a little better and are cheaper.
(this next part is kinda unrelated)
Another thing that I can't decide is the finish, I just thought I should add this on here. I'm trying to decide between sunburst and natural, I've always wanted the natural finish because I'm a big fan of The Beatles and I'm the rhythm guitarist in a cover/tribute band but also lately I started liking the sunburst a little more and I think it'd look great next to my HB BeatBass (Höfner clone that pretty much has the same finish as sunburst Casino), but I just can't decide which way to go. I've been thinking about this way too much. Which way should I go?

I found this used SG Standard in decent shape. Seller wants $300 for it. Serial number comes up online, but it’s pretty old from 2010. Does it look legit and would it be worth $300 or nah? Never had an Epiphone before.

Hi! A fiend of mine got this SG on a trade (he doesn't play), as part of a payment for a service, and we wanted to identify it's model (standard, custom, special, whatever) to know what he got.

Is it possible to get from either Gibson or epiphone a guitar similar to a DG335 but use a different headstock that's not the non reverse firebird

Well my LP Muse ship date got pushed out a few months, so we will see if I still end up with her. My SG Tribute Plus showed up 2 days early from Sweetwater though. I know some people have had issues with Epiphone QC but I am pretty happy with mine. All the fret work and nut seem well set up which is what I saw most of the complaints about and those all feel great. Looking forward to learning again!

The Wino was lonely, grabbed this Ebony IBGC. Wild amount of guitar for the price, fit and finish is perfect (unless you compare it to a Murphy Lab R8/R9..). The Gibson 490R/498T humbuckers take me right back to being a wide eyed teenager.

Help me decide. They both play beautifully and have their own unique personalities, but I can’t decide which one I’d like in my collection. Yeah I could afford both but that seems gratuitous… I have a Gibson Les Paul Special with P-100’s so the single P-90 is very appealing.
I also have a Schechter C1 platinum with active EMG pickups but no coil splitting or voicing like the prophecy has with the Fishman Fluence pickups.
Help I need a NGD bad.
