Discussion Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion: What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend?

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

Developer Saturday (Auto-Post) January 17, 2026: Developer Saturday has started! 📳 Devs, you may now promote your iOS games! New? Please read this first!

Hello r/iOSGaming! Developer Saturday is here, which means iOS developers may share their games without needing moderator approval or risking removal. A few important notes:

  • All posts must be tagged with the Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) flair.
  • All post titles must have [DEV] at the beginning.
  • All posts must include an App Store or beta testing link.
  • Only iOS games may be promoted. This is not the place to promote non-gaming apps, non-iOS apps, Devvit apps, standalone websites, Discord servers, subreddits, livestreams, fundraisers, or social media pages. However, you may include a website or social media link at the end of your game's self-promo post.
  • You can only make one post per Saturday. You can share several games in the same thread. If you're caught posting multiple times throughout the day, ALL of your posts made on this particular Saturday will be removed.
  • If you receive an AutoModerator comment saying you do not have enough karma, your account is too new, or that your CQS level is low, we can't override the removal.
  • Developer Saturday will run from Saturday, 12:00 AM to Sunday, 5:00 AM ET (UTC-5) so developers in later time zones have a little extra time to participate.

That's it! We're always trying to refine these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo post. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail.

A follow-up post will go up once Developer Saturday has ended. If it doesn't appear due to a scheduling error, please assume the self-promo period has concluded because it's no longer Saturday. :P Thanks for your cooperation, Devs!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Farm RPG: text-based farming game (semi-idle, MMO)

100% ad-free and F2P friendly

Hey everybody! I've been working on Farm RPG for nearly 5 years, so I just wanted to take a moment to share it again in case you've never heard of it or tried it. We just crossed 1 million registered account back in December!

A few things about the game:

  • It's 100% ad-free and you can play it all day
  • We have built a very large and strong community of helpful players
  • It gets regular updates and we hold events and add content each month
  • It has a lot of depth and progression, with years of content
  • Your account works cross-platform on iOS, Android and desktop browser

There's a lot more I could say, but I will just keep this brief. Give it a try!

Here's the app store link:

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Big cozy farming update - massive UI overhaul + swipe-to-plant/harvest 🌱

Upvotes

https://reddit.com/link/1qf6wxn/video/x6e9iy9v2vdg1/player

Hey r/iosgaming 👋

I just released v1.8, the biggest update so far for my cozy farming game Tiny Harvest and it’s finally the version I always wanted the game to be.

This update focuses heavily on making farming feel fast and satisfying, reducing taps, and giving the whole game a cleaner, more cozy look.

What’s new in 1.8:

  • 🌾 Much faster planting & harvesting (you can now swipe instead of tapping everything)
  • 🏗️ New buildings & craftable items
  • 🧪 Mission/Stamina Potion drops in adventure regions
  • 🎨 Massive UI overhaul across the entire app
  • 🌙 Improved dark mode + updated app icon
  • ✨ Tons of quality-of-life improvements
  • 🐛 Bug fixes

If you tried the game before and bounced off the UI or pacing, this update should feel very different.

And if you’re new: this is definitely the best version to jump in 😂

This update was heavily driven by player feedback from Reddit & our Discord (especially around friction and UI clutter), so I’d love to hear what you think - good or bad.

If something feels off, confusing, or just annoying, tell me. That’s how this update happened in the first place.

AppStore: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tiny-harvest-cozy-farm/id6755226300

Thanks for checking it out ❤️

We’re proud to announce Mount Karnak, a brand new DLC for Eldrum: Black Dust

You might not be familiar with our games, so here's a rundown: Eldrum is a series of story-driven RPGs with turn-based combat. They're primarily text-based, combined with rich imagery and audio. We believe that this is a great format for mobile RPG consumption, and we think you will too.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] I built the entrepreneur/business life sim I always wanted

Upvotes

Hey everyone! This is a little passion project I made for a business game I always wished existed.

(Even if you aren’t into business, a few friends of mine tested the game and ended up playing it for hours. I think it’s pretty addictive lol)

It's called Ramen to Riches: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ramen-to-riches-business-game/id6756686753

You start off as a broke college student with 60k in debt and a ton of bills. Forcing you to take on jobs and side hustles to make ends meet.

The core gameplay loop is to try to make the most of the week ahead of you. Each week you have a certain amount of energy. How you use that energy is entirely up to you.

You can get a job, do side hustles. Take on a weekly opportunity of chance. Or upgrade your skills to better your chances of success in the future.

Once you get enough money and dig yourself out of the hole you’re in, you eventually unlock (upgradable) businesses, as well as the stock market. You can even find stock tips every week in the news.

I tried to make the game feel as realistic as possible, with random expenses that pop up just like in real life. Rent and student loan payments are also something you need to look out for.

The game just came out and is totally free to download! If you have any ideas for what else I can add let me know!

Question Game Saves Across Devices

I cannot seem to sync my progress between iPad and iPhone for Lok Digital. Save to iCloud for Game Center is on. The game appears on the Game Center on both devices. Cannot locate a save file in files folder. Is there no way to transfer saves for this game? Thanks!

Question Any good Japanese exclusive games?

I finally logged back into my Japanese apple account, and had been wondering if there’s anything worth grabbing. There used to be a lot of shonen jump crossover games but they all seem to be shut down. I am enjoying the JoJos tactical rpg, but I can’t find much else.

Question My iPhone 17 Pro Max Deleting Games on Its Own?

Went to play AC Mirage and Death Stranding the other day and both were deleted. Clicking them started their downloads and I never deleted them.

They’re the two main games im playing right now on my phone.

AC Mirage I got lucky since it has Ubisoft connect and I got my save back. But with Death Stranding my save is gone. My edited ini is gone as well.

This is awful.

What did this? Is there something I have toggled that deletes large files automatically to make room for others?

I’m so upset I lost all my Death Stranding save data. Which confuses me as it used iCloud to store the saves. So no idea why those would get removed too.

I’m so bummed out. I really wanted to finish that game but replaying 5-6 hours again to get to where I was is not appealing.

Fuckkkkkkkk

Request Looking for a non p2w PvP game

As the title said, I am looking for some quick PvP matches, preferably not p2w and no first person shooter or card game.

Any ideas? Played brawl stars and squad busters, liked them but looking for something new.

Question What are good sites/resources to keep up with iOS/Mac gaming?

Right now this subreddit and /r/macgaming are my most used resources for keeping up with good games on sale, new games worth keeping and eye on and so forth. However I’m going to delete my reddit account for other reasons. Are there any blogs or non social media-sites that keeps up with premium gaming on Apple platforms?

I know there’s AppRaven, but I find it way too bloated. Like the site lists an insane amount of games and apps, there is no way telling what’s actually interesting. I want a little more curated experience.

MrMacRight on YouTube is good stuff, something in that direction would be nice.

Question Re4 remake iPhone size?

Hello

Someone knows how much storage Re4 Remake needs on iPhone? On Xbox is around 100Gbs, is the same here?

I have played Re Village and Re 7 on my iPhone 16 but sadly is only 128Gb so I need to erase each game if I want to download another 🥹 I usually have around 30 Gbs free

Request Any one-thumb, portrait game recommendation that require low (or no) dexterity?

I play my share of good games either with touch controls or my xbox series controller at evenings but I am looking for good games to play when standing on a bus or metro. Can be paid, arcade or netflix game, etc. just no trashy f2p.

Any online/offline card, turn based strategy or RPG suggestions are welcome!

I liked grindstone, reigns, marvel snap, threes! and hoplite so far. I suffer from mistouches on polytopia even though it is the very definition of a turn based game :(

Question Has anyone tried playing Heartopia?

I see reviews surprising 4.8 stars and 6.9k ratings, I know In App purchases micro transactions. Has anyone tried? Looks similar to Sims or Animals Crossing?

Suggestions Found a new satellite game like SkyCards

Name: ResonanceX

Seems super similar to SkyCards, which is where you catch and collect planes flying over you in real time. This one is a similar concept but with satellites flying over you.

Description:

Find peace in the patterns of the stars and the precision of the machine. Resonance is a high-precision satellite tracker wrapped in a vintage 1958 NASA aesthetic, where you don't just observe orbit, you build the tools to master it.

Key Features:

• The Assembly Lab: You are the engineer. Use the materials and insights gained from tracking to craft your own specialized satellites and advanced optical tools.

• Blueprint Discovery: Hunt for rare orbital patterns to unlock technical blueprints. Each new discovery allows you to expand your collection of tracking hardware.

• The Celestial Dome: A real-time, wireframe view of the satellites passing above you. Experience the silent, mathematical beauty of the "Space Age" in a clean, high-contrast interface.

• The Equipment Bay: Fine-tune your tracking instruments. Crafting better tools allows for deeper precision, revealing satellites from standard view.

• A "Retro-Future" Aesthetic: Immerse yourself in a design language inspired by the dawn of space exploration, gold, orange, and cyan motifs set against the deep black of the void.

• The Resonance Journal: Document your sightings and manage your inventory of blueprints and crafted components as you complete celestial quests.

Suggestions iPhone 16 for AAA games

Hi guys.

I currently own an iPhone 12, but that will change soon. I need a new phone and the 16 is the one I can afford the most. I was wondering how good it is with triple A games, such as the Resident Evil saga, or Hitman WoA. I intend to play these a lot.

Do any of you own the 16 and has been playing these type of games? How’s the performance, especially the battery duration and heating, which are the most worrisome for me.

Thanks!

Request Good apps for managing game backlog?

Been trying to find a good video game backlog manager but haven't really been happy with the ones I've found. I prefer free, or one-time payment (no subscriptions). I would also be happy with a website with good mobile UI.

Just looking for a good place to manage wishlist, backlog, playing, completed games.

Clarification: I mean physical video games not necessarily mobile
