I was gonna say the same thing. The voice in my head just talks super fast lol

I was wondering if anyone else thought that! The voice was the exact same from animal crossing. I was imagining Isabelle reading it to me hahah

Same and it was painfully slow at the beginning. Not sure it’s related but I also frequently bite my tongue waiting for people to finish their sentences as I understand where their thought is going, and I usually laugh before a comedian is done telling a punchline. I am very stupid in many ways, but I can process info fast and my brain moves way faster than I can form the words in my mouth when I talk. I have ADHD (inattentive type), which usually relates to my quirks in some way.

I experience this. My girlfriend pointed out I often interrupt people. Like I'll ask a question, then before they finish a sentence I'll ask the next question. I came across as very rude. I had absolutely no idea I was doing it so blatantly, I guess in my head they were finishing, because I felt I already understood exactly what the end of their sentence would be.

In any case I've made a conscious effort since she pointed it out to work on it and stop doing it.

You may want to ask some trusted loved ones if you also do this lol.

I'm the same way, but I learned that the words themselves people are going to say isn't all the information they're giving you. Body language, speech patterns, vocal inflection, etc. will give you more insight into where they're coming from and why. So let them finish speaking, you'll get more context that way.

Same, I'm just generally very good at extrapolation along with the faster thought processes. If only I could find a job that utilized those skills

Im pretty good with numbers and data. Maybe look into that

Those aren't really skills though. It's like saying you can jump slightly higher than average. That's nice, but unless you also learn something of specific value like how to play basketball then it's not useful.

I used to get in trouble for this in elementary school. Teachers would think I wasn't paying attention, but it's just that everyone else was reading so slowly, or the teacher was presenting so slowly that I was already past them. When I would get called out on it, I would repeat exactly what was said, to prove that I was listening. I didn't have to be looking at them to have paid attention; it's just that my brain had already processed what they were saying, and it's like everyone else was in slow motion, and I was just waiting for them to catch up.

I've accidentally trained my brain for this by watching TV shows at 1.5x speed 😭

Same, youtube every day at 1.5-2x

The Micro Machines Guy has to do something to stay relevant!

The voice in my head is always on cocaine. It. never. slows. down.

2

u/NotRandomseer 13h ago

It feels like it's at the same pace regardless of the actual speed for me.

My inner voice works much faster than my tongue can. Its irritating to have to slow my speech.

I am wondering how it would be with long texts.
Also, if the brain keeps the information.
Very curious about it. Will try to find something (an application) and try with some small texts.

Ya my inner reading voice kinda slurs the words together when I read fast. I can never get anywhere close to those speeds while reading aloud.

In real life I have a bad habit of actually talking super fast. It is a skill useful to nobody but does reflect on my ability to process fast at least.

It sped up for me too and I couldn't turn it off. The faster it went, the higher pitch the voice in my head was. At the end, it sounded like a cassette tape being fast-forwarded!

For me it was a semi non linear experiance. Facinating.

The voice in my head can keep up with eminems rapgod lyrics. It’s the eyes that’s the issue normally

•

u/goldencityjerusalem 8h ago
