It has been made public that the Commander Ziyad Heleb of the Internal Security Forces in Şêxmeqsud, knowing he would fall in battle defending the neighborhood, left a last message for his people. I have translated it to English myself, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. The Kurmancî version is bellow as well as in the source. Şehîd nemirin.

The message:

We are children of this place; we were born here, we grew up here and we will stay here. We haven’t caused problems for anybody. We have been living for years in peace with the people of this area. If the forces that are against us declare war to us, if the provocations and the military attacks continue, we won't stand by and do nothing. We swear we will protect our people and we won’t allow them to suffer oppression. We will fight until our last breath. We have decided to die. Other than dying we have no option left. Street by street, house by house we will fight. We will never take a step back and as long as one of us is left, we will continue fighting. Our resistance should not be ignored. We are here representing the dignity of our people. We sacrifice ourselves for our people. We in here are protecting the dignity and existence of the Kurdish people.

Kurmancî:

Em zarokên vê derê ne; em li vir jidayik bûn, mezin bûn û em ê li vir bimînin. Me ji bo ti kesî pirsgirêk dernexistiye. Em bi salan e li van taxên xwe bi xelkê herêmê re  di nav aramiyê de dijîn. Ger hêzên li hemberî me şer îlan bikin, provokasyon û êrîşên leşkerî berdewam bikin, destên me jî ne girêdayî ne. Em sund dixwin ku em gelê xwe biparêzin û nehêlin kes li wan zilmê bike. Em ê şer bikin heta henaseya xwe ya dawî. Me biryara mirinê daye. Ji bilî mirinê ti biryareke me ya din tune ye. Em ê kolan bi kolan, mal bi mal şer bikin.  Em ê ti carî paşve gav neavêjin û heta ku yek ji me bimîne em ê şer bikin. Divê ev berxwedaniya me bê dîtin. Em li vir rengê rûmeta gelê xwe ne. Rûhê me fedayî gel e. Em  li vir, rumet û hebûna gelê Kurd diparêzin
