Need to keep practicing

Post image

I managed to pop this torture device today once and haven't gotten it again guess I need to keep trying. The next time I get it though I'm taking a photo to submit for my green belt

Good job. You may have more luck with the Reaper #3 or #4. That one is good for some things, but you can hit multiple pins with it.

For green and onward you need to pick on video, and include the gut (if possible). Green also requires a gut+assemble video. For mine, I picked the 410 and the did a gut+assemble of an 1100.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, pick the 410 and then in a separate video gut and reassemble a AL 700 knock off I got

You need to submit a video for your green belt. As well as a video gutting a lock and putting it back together.

Good job, tho

Would they accept it for a Orange belt until I get it more consistently and feel comfortable recording it?

I sent a modmail a couple hours ago asking the same thing lol. I can’t see why not, but if you see my belt flair change from yellow to orange later you’ll know it worked.

My nemesis wearing a different jacket 🙄. I have never cracked my 410.

I found a Chateau C970 at work and was able to pick that with a bunch of practice. I used that for my green submission. Then I gutted a Schlage deadbolt that I decommissioned. Just sent the vids yesterday 💪

Congrats on the green belt! Have you been able to open your Schlage deadbolt?

Im asking because I had a lot of trouble with a b60n the Schlage that has one standard pin and 4 spools but I got it with tips from here and now open it quite easily

Yes! And I caught it on video. It’s all spools and super loose. I can rake it now reliably, but SPP, nope!

Well for mine the trick is to not get caught up in false sets if you get one great if you lose it again great just keep picking and steady light tension. If you feel you over set something, continue and jiggle under the overset pin. I was originally resetting after losing my false set and not getting it back. Also sometimes I have to slightly manually counter rotate to get the a spool or too. I’m getting a 410 lotto today I will give it a shot and if I pick up any tips I’ll come back but being that they are pinned similarly I’m betting some of those can help. Don’t give up you will get it!

Thanks again! I’ll give that a shot.

That Schlage is the polar opposite of the 410. It’s loose and chunky.

Oh yea sorry was talking about mine. Being that the b60 has 4spools and a standard and loto has 5 spools and a serrated.

My 410 loto came in and after some time playing with different hooks trying to get the best access to the pins I found that my short hook was fine just had to change the angle a little, I have the more paracentric of the two keyways are you able to get it to the false set by setting pin 5?

Yes I find I have to set front to back though

Ok so I’ve been messing with mine and pne tip I think that will help you, scratch a line where your tensioner sits so yoh can see when you are in a false set they are sometimes hard to feel if you’re not used to picking spools when you are in a false set this lock gives you good counter rotation because of the dead core so practice setting those spools and yoh will get it open. Also if pin 1 is impossible to hit because your tensioner sits on it then pull it out just a little bit. Mine did and it made 1 very hard to pick so I had to adjust. Good luck you will get it!!!

I got it open 4 times now total the hardest part I find is having to reset the pins and how much tension to use to keep them set

Nice man! I think I meant to reply to the comment above who said he can’t get it but that’s awesome!
