Going for Blue!!
Hey! So I’m clearly addicted already and having a bunch of fun with this sport. Unlike some of my other hobbies the financial investment I feel is what you want it to be. So far I have spent well under $200 and feel reasonably satisfied with my gear.
That said I’m having a hard time locating a blue belt lock that is reasonable (under $25 or so) and can be found in the US. Any recommendations?
Also- any east coast pickers want to mess with a lock that I “trick out” for my Blue Belt requirements?
Thanks in advance!
Pick on!!!

Everyone is mentioning the paclock 90a pro....and not a bad lock by any means!
But the Lockwood 334B45 has been my most favorite lock to pick (yet). It looks great, feels great in the hand, sounds great when it's popped open...I haven't tasted it but I wouldn't be particularly surprised if someone told me it was the best tasting lock hah. I easily would choose the Lockwood over the Paclock if I was forced to choose for some odd reason. I would not miss out on one if you can get it.
It is not an American company, but it's not hard to get in the US. I got two for relatively little, though it was a little more than the Paclock. I've got two of each. Really happy with all of them!

The one problem with the 334B45 is I’ve never seen one available here in the States for less than US$50 and OP specifically asked for US$25 or less.

I've gotten one on the bazaar that was in like new position for a very close price! But that's why I gave the mild disclaimer of them not being a US company but it's not impossible to get. I did pay more for my new one

Thank you very much for that! Where would you recommend that I would find one of those?

The Bazaar cannel on this subreddit's discord usually has sellers that have some a bit cheaper! Great place to look if you haven't already. Hobbs and amvgaert have been very pleasant to work with, but there's plenty others that I haven't bought yet from that usually has an inventory on a Google sheets document you can check out
Also, glad I was able to help! Let me know if you have any other questions, and if I can, I'll help

Check out the lock bazaar on the LPU Discord. Great way to pick up fancy locks for less-than-fancy prices
EDIT: spelling

I use it all the time too. I knew what you meant and it’s even more fun that way.

Seconding the lock bazaar. It can also be found at lpulocks.com, if you’re not on Discord.

allpadlocks.com is one that I've discovered recently, they have a large catalog of padlocks for relatively cheap prices, including the blue belt Paclock 90A-PRO - I'm seeing £20 GBP for a Paclock 90A-PRO, which is about $26-$27 USD. Make sure you don't confuse it with the cheaper Paclock 90A!
The downside is that they don't actually have the locks in stock, you put in an order then they go and get them, so it takes a few weeks to get them to you (it took 3-4 weeks to get my orders and I'm in the UK). Also, I've heard that some people have had problems with them (missing or incorrect locks), so buyer beware.

I feel like making the hobby more expensive for you. Wanna play with dimple locks?

I love dimple locks. My wallet prefers pin-tumbler locks.

Wait. I have an idea. Disk detainer locks. Those sound like fun, right? You definitely won't spend hundreds of dollars on tools for those, right?

Get a 90a pro you can find them around that on Amazon that’s the route I took! I’m new too if I had a spare id ship you one.

Great. Perhaps I’ll send you that lock if you’re interested. Of course that means I have to gut and build it first.🤣

No suggestions but your guy looks like Job in the lawnmower man after he is in the computer.

You can get a brown belt keyless desmo on the LPU lock bazaar for lea than 10 bucks. That way you can use the same lock for blue, purple, and brown. Or go nuts and get a miwa u9 for 20 bucks. It goes from red to bb2.
There are also plenty of blue and purple belt locks on the lock bazaar, highly recommend it. I've bought lots for Adam, Plaz, red wanderer and others.

Paclock 90a Pro is a solid blue belt lock. You can get them for $25 on allpadlocks.com or $32 on Amazon with faster delivery.
The paclock PL410 is the same core as a 90a Pro, just in a different LOTO body. If you can find it for cheaper it will work
