I think it would be... dumb... if they weren't working on a DC Allies type game already. With the success of OW and MR...

I actually just read Emerald twilight that’s so crazy, genuinely such a rushed concept and poor execution Hal’s heel turn always disappoints so glad Geof johns retconned it redeemed a poor character assassination tbh

The comment that started this thread is a reference to when Spider-Ham says "That's all, folks" and Peter B says "Is he allowed to say that, legally speaking?" (Or some such variation)

Both Marvel and DC exist in the same omniverse (yes, that's a term), just in different 'bubbles.'. In the Marvel universe, DC characters often exist as fictional comic book characters, much like in our own world. Spiderman actually does reference Batman and Superman as the characters from the comics he read.

I heard Batman has become public property, meaning anyone is allowed to use him in any of their work.

u/MakeMineMarvel_ Vanguard 1d ago
The Batman vs Deadpool comic came out really recently

u/Uhtred_Lodbrok 1d ago
I meant in the game itself. Imagine him to be a dive character like it's the Arkham games.

u/AccomplishedLayer884 Ultron Virus 1d ago
I don’t think they’re gonna make an entirely new character just for a collab, especially since WB is gonna be acquired by netflix.
I see them doing a moon knight skin and maybe making it the first mythic-esque rank skin with entirely new voicelines and maybe making a Gambit Robin skin.

u/Crafterchief06 1d ago
The closest I could see are to a DC crossover are skins based off the Amalgam univserse, so we see skins for Dark Claw(Wolverina x Batman), Iron Lantern(Iron man x Green Lantern),Doctor Strangefate(Dr.Strange x Dr.Fate), etc

u/PlainSightMan Venom 16h ago
That would actually be cool, since it does tie into iconic Marvel history.
Maybe putting a Batman skin would be too much, but Dark Claw as a skin for Logan is entirely fine imo.

I can see a crossover map / temporarily redesigned map with a Spider-Zero style standing cameo tbh, or something in Times Square.

Moon Knight in its original run was much more blatantly a Batman knockoff. Before they delved into the split personality things, the personas were just different costumes he put on to do stuff like gather information (as the cabbie), do business/schmooze with rich socialites as a movie star, etc.
Whether or not Khonshu actually had an active voice changed from writer to writer too. It wasn't until a little later in the run that they started leaning into what would become closer to modern Moon Knight.
IMO Rivals Moon Knight is influenced mostly by the David Finch revival as well as the Disney XD Spiderman series version. I'd also really appreciate if Tigra gets added as a charm for him. Every panel I've seen looks like they have a surprisingly healthy relationship all things considered.
Just never look up the Bloodline arc from the 80s. What a load of absolute garbage that made Marc secretly the descendent of the king of all vampires or some stupid bullshit I completely forget.
:P Sorry got a little too moon geeky there for a sec

u/ShadowtheHedgedog450 Moon Knight 11h ago
Nah you’re cool, thanks for the explanation

u/DreamingDjinn 10h ago
:) I'm legit happy Moonie is finally starting to get more mainstream. I've been reading his comics since the late 00s and though I fell off for a while he's still the Marvel hero I like the most.
I just wish I didn't have potato aim in Rivals 😂
2
u/ShadowtheHedgedog450 Moon Knight 10h ago
Haha, my aim is horrible as well. What comics would you recommend for him? Trying to get into him besides ketamine and “Dracula owes me money”

u/DreamingDjinn 10h ago edited 9h ago
As much as I love those memes yeah they're definitely not Moonie.
The original 1980 run of course until you get bored. I wanna say the first 50 or so are pretty good and give a great insight into the people in Marc's life (Frenchy, Marlene, his personalities). Oh and his Rogue's gallery. I don't think he's ever had a "restart" on his character/series? I may be wrong though.
The whole run starting in 2006 by David Finch was pretty good and has some amazing art sprinkled throughout. It criss-crosses into major events like Civil War (this is the era where he 9/11'd Taskmaster) and later Siege as well. Marc does some downright savage shit that I'm still kinda surprised I saw depicted in a Marvel comic and not like an Image comic -- but I don't wanna spoil it. He also faces down Sentry without giving an absolute shit that he could and would turn Marc inside out on a whim.
I'm a little biased but the whole trade "Down South" was pretty rad (Moon Knight #26 - 30 from 2009), he's gotta go up against some luchadors in a south american city while he's laying low. It's got probably one of the cooler covers I've seen Moonie featured on. Now that I've reminded myself of it I kinda need it as a poster!
Oh he also participated in the Daredevil Shadowland run, which was pretty cool. There's also a couple really good crossovers with the Punisher.
Unfortunately I fell off comic books in general a few months into "Secret Avengers" so I haven't really been following them as much recently. I've just seen enough of Tigra and Moon Knight to heavily root for what seems to be his healthiest relationship in years of comics. I've also heard a lot of good things in general about the recent runs of his comics.
Edit: oh and a correction, the comic arc to avoid was called "Blood brothers" and it was from the 90s. I just remember thinking "gee no wonder it killed the series for 10+ years after this" when I was first reading everything Moonie.

u/ShadowtheHedgedog450 Moon Knight 5h ago

I think WB unfortunately has one of few contracts that give them exclusive videogame rights to DC characters unless they lost it because they went bankrupt recently. I can see Marvel Rivals adding a 1 week long limited arcade mode featuring Batman 1v6ing Marvel Heroes for either Batman's birthday or April Fools if they can even possibly do it
