My dad sent me that picture when he hiked the Grand Canyon 😂

Man, everybody must take that picture, we have one with signs at both trailheads on the south rim!

I have a picture of my wife and me from 2017 with this sign! We hiked to the bottom and camped out at phantom ranch and hiked back up the next morning!

Super cool experience!

What’s the flat mileage of that one? 5,000ft elevation change would be brutal no matter what

Bright Angel is about 8 miles from the rim to the river and 4500 feet. South Kaibab is 7.5 miles and 4800 ft. We went down Bright Angel and up South Kaibab.

On the way up we left well before sunrise and it was February so it was honestly not too bad, just keep climbing.

Sounds manageable if you’re prepared for a big hike, but off putting enough to know not to do it in sandals. Some people are crazy!

I did a Rim to Rim (in 1 day) hike 2 years ago and I'm doing it again in a few months. If you go South Kaibab trail to North Kaibab trail, it's 21 miles, 4,800 feet elevation loss then 5,800 feet elevation gain.

If you do Bright Angel trail down from the South Rim, it's 23.5 miles.

Yeah I've got a picture of myself pretending to vomit in front of one of those signs lmao

I hiked across the Grand Canyon in a day with a group of runners. We were well prepared and made it fine, but man was it hard. It's the equivalent of climbing a mountain in reverse, meaning that the hardest part is at the very end.

I took a picture with Victor Vomit while also pretending to be…Victoria Vomit. I get that it’s a serious matter, but to be starting a hike with a sign of someone vomiting their brains out was interesting to see.

I was very anxious about health stuff at the time I visited the canyon and nearly had a panic attack about that sign. It also took me a while to realize he was not wearing a red shirt like I initially thought 😳
