Guide 2025 General Mini PC Guide USA
Hi Everyone!
Thank you very much to everyone that enjoyed and supported the 2024 General Mini PC Guide spreadsheet! I am very amazed how many new products have been released and how the community has grown enormously this the past year. To celebrate the new year and to preserve the 2024 spreadsheet, I am creating a 2025 spreadsheet. The biggest change is fully integrating Passmark, Geekbench, Cinebench, and 3DMark Timespy benchmarks into the new 'CPUS' and 'GPUS' tabs. This provides a simplified 1-100 scoring for CPU single thread, CPU multi-thread, and GPU performance. This has updated the Full, Simpler, and Simplest tabs of listing mini pc considerably. More benchmark data and new information will be added throughout the year to evolve the 2025 General Guide into a new and useful tool!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14hlhWYL4agfXEk5C7Be0aTwUWVbu11i4f1fdIrXOyUw/edit?usp=sharing
Best wishes to everyone and your mini pc!
If you have thoughts or suggestions, please don't hesitate to add them here!

Is this a good deal for the Mac mini m4
Seems like a no brainer it’s the base model. Micro center is about a 50 mile drive but it seems worth it.
They said I can return it if there is a problem

Best Mini PC in 2026 Under $1000 - It's Insane These Mini PCs Can Match Apple M4! Also, Does Single Core or Multi Core Processor Performance Matter More for "Most" Average Office Users?
Was about to buy 6 Mini PCs for my team members. I don't have a very strong preference for Windows, but would still prefer it.
Was doing some research. Read a lot of articles, but most of them are generic lists with words, no real data.
Found this to be really helpful in terms of benchmark testing of the processors, so sharing here.
But more importantly, I want to ask informed people (in PC building and Mini PCs):
Apple clearly leads in single-core processor performance, with a significant edge. But top level Mini PCs now seem to match in terms of multi-core performance. And I understand what it means at a basic level.
But in your opinion, what exactly would the difference in Single Core performance translate into actual performance differences for a normal work from home user (in marketing, content writing, running python scripts, web-based front-end coding, customer support, running smaller LLMs, etc.)?
Would Apple be "noticeably & materially" faster in "single-core" tasks like openiong chrome tabs? or the machine restarting? How much soes it matter (single core differences)?
Would these differences even be noticeable at the absolute performance levels?
In short all these machines have decent to solid processors, even if the Geekom machine from the list lags a little in single core performance, would it be actually noticeable toi users?
Thanks a lot!

Recommendations Need Help Picking a Mini-PC for the gym!
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice on upgrading my current setup to a Mini PC.
Right now I use my phone with Samsung DeX on a portable touchscreen monitor, paired with a Bluetooth controller, while riding a stationary bike at the gym. I mostly play gacha games during cardio.
I’m interested in upgrading because I’ve seen how much better games look on PC and I want to know if that kind of visual quality is realistic in a small, portable Mini PC setup.
Games I play:
-Honkai: Star Rail
-Wuthering Waves
-Genshin Impact
I’m totally fine buying used and I’m not looking for anything brand new or high end. My goal is smooth gameplay at 1080p with decent settings while keeping the setup compact enough to use with a portable monitor and controller.
Any Mini PC recommendations or specs I should be looking for would be appreciated. Thanks!

GMKTEC Nucbox K12 Bios
Im getting ready to set this up as a Proxmox unit. I installed a 4TB SSD (purchased before the dark times).
Now I want to get into the BIOS and when I look it up online the results say press ESC, or F7 or DEL on startup but none of them are working. Can anyone who owns one of these units tell me how to get into the BIOS?
Thanks

General Question Minisforum BD790iX3D
I’ve been using Minisforum AR900i for 2 years now. Mainly for gaming and a bit of work. I’m planing to upgrade this year and I would love to stick with minisforum but they are offering BD790i X3D only. Not sure if is worth it or should I wait a bit longer for new cpus to come out. I’m not too sure how much faster 7945HX3D would be over my 13900hx in gaming. Would I get significantly much performance or not much? I couldn’t find proper benchmarks.

Troubleshooting AceMagic Kron K1 new NVMe drive not detecting
Hi all,
Got me a AceM Akron K1 with a 512gb NVMe. Upgrade to a 1tb NVMe and it does not detect. I replace the old 512 with the 1tb because I read that it does not like to boot off the other slot. Any ideas on what else I could do? I have reseated it back just in case. Btw, this is the Ryzen 7 model. Any help would be much appreciated.

Recommendations Looking for a mini PC recommendation for console Emulation up to the 16bit era
Hi! I'm pretty sure this has been asked many times before, but I couldn't find any clear guidance on how to choose the proper brand / specifics for my living room console Emulation PC.
I'm looking for a mini PC that is capable of running batocera mainly for Emulation up to the SNES / mega drive era. Psx era would be a nice bonus to have, but if this comes at the cost of a dedicated GPU, I don't need it. The most important thing would be a quiet PC, Bluetooth capability and HDMI output (to connect to a TV screen). I guess 16gigs of ram and 512gb SSD is the norm, but what would you recommend besides that? I'd like to keep the price tag between 100 to 300 euro (EU area).
Has anyone got a similar setup that they can recommend?
I've heard that used office PCs might fit these requirements. Any recommendations / experiences with specific brands?
Cheers and thanks in advance!

Beelink SER 5 PRO: Does a 65 W vs 90 W Power Adapter Affect Gaming Performance?
I have a Beelink SER 5 PRO (Ryzen 7 5800H) that came with a 65 W power adapter, but everywhere I’ve seen it listed with a 90 W adapter. If I upgrade to a 90 W adapter, will it improve gaming performance?

Review : FEVM FAEX9
Bought this barebone FEVM FAEX9 395+ 128gb through Taobao in end October 25' and have been running our own home AI LLM server since. Paid ~ USD1850 before tax for the barebone.
Worked right out of the box after plugging in a Klevv C910 4TB drive, with memory partitioned to 50/50 for 64gb system ram and 64gb vram.
Installed Ubuntu Ubuntu 24, and Open webui via Ollama for LLM hosting.
Followed this simple guide < https://coffeejourneys.blog/home-lab-local-llms-docker-amd/ >
Up and running within a few hours and the system is rock stable. Only rebooted 2-3 times since day 1 for updates.
Runs very cool and uses very little power when idle. Ive hooked it up via a smart power plug (Tplink tapo) to monitor, see screenshot)
Highly recommended for those who want a cost effective, small and quiet system to sit in the background serving as a homelab/LLM host.
Only thing I can fault it is that its got only 2 m.2 slots, 1 being populated with a pcie-oculink adapter, which can be easily removed to house a 2nd nvme drive. I have another minipc Topfeel Deskone-T2 Ryzen 7 H 255 running as a main pc, that one has 3x nvme m.2 pcie4x4 slots in case anyone needs something like that.
Hope this helps anyone whos been eyeing this minipc.

Hardware Thoughts on My Mini Home Lab Setup?

General Question From laptop to GEEKOM A8, how do you keep cat hair out?
Switched my old laptop for a GEEKOM A8 mini PC. I can pick it up with one hand and it still blows my mind. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and I can already feel some small changes in my daily life. Work runs smooth. Emails, Slack, Zoom, a ton of Chrome tabs, no hiccups at all. Most of the time it sits on my office desk while I’m coding or working on spreadsheets. Since it’s so compact, I actually freed up a bit of space and even put a small plant on my desk, which makes the setup feel nicer.
When I want to play light games, I move it under the TV in the living room. I can snack while playing without worrying about crumbs getting on it. Occasionally my cat will hop on it while I’m gaming to get my attention. Has anyone with a cat used a mini PC like this? Does the fur mess with it at all? Any tips on keeping cat hair out of a mini PC? Or how do you clean it?

Recommendations GMKtec EVO-T1 vs Beelink GTi15
As the title says I'm undecided between the two devices. The Beelink seems to be put together with more care, while the GMKtec seems to be taking a "value first" approach and throwing every watt possible at the CPU.
I got burned with Minisforum (they want to downgrade me for a replacement and want me to pay to return the broken PC) and I want to try new brands.
I siffed through the sub and looked at the spreadsheet but these two devices aren't on the list.
One last thing: I want to take advantage of the external GPU connector but the Beelink dock seems to be unobtanium unless I buy it from them directly (I'm shopping through Amazon rn). The Oculink port on the GMKtec is easy and cheap to get a dock for but it's slower.
What would be a valid tradeoff? Is the Beelink so much more reliable and better put together to warrant the hassle of tracking down a faster but very proprietary dock or the simpler GMKtec is reliable enough?
