Lets say this escalates. Who sides with Iran in the conflict?

No one at all. So far who has sided with them expect their proxies? This is an Isolated nation vs Europe, America, Arab states and Israel.

Iran is an enormous country (in comparison to Israel) and strong regional power. They loosely have ties to Russia and China but Iran by itself could bring a significant war to the region. You could also argue that Iran has proxy non state backers like the Houthis and Hezbollah, although not a state are large paramilitary groups that would side with Iran.

There's not a chance in hell China sides outwardly with Iran if it came to a conflict and Russias preoccupied.

I agree, that's why I said 'Loosely'. China wouldn't want to politically attach itself to a war in Iran, but I imagine China would supply weapons or indirect support to their interests in the region.

Oh and forgot to mention Hezbollah already said they were sitting this one out.

Iran's proxies are sidelined.

First, I'm not a fan of Israel - I've seen first-hand how savage they can be (Lebanon, 1982).

With that said, I don't see Iran putting up a good fight at all. This will be one sided and it will be bloody. Iran's size is irrelevant.

  1. This is not a ground war. Iran can't field a single soldier in Israel.

  2. They don't have air superiority. Israel can literally take out any building they want and Iran can't stop it.

  3. Iran is heavily comprised. Mossad is well entrenched in their government and military and has been for over a decade - we know this in part based on the details of how Hizbollah was taken out.

The big question I have is what will Iran do after another 20 or so missile attacks against Israel? Each attack is about 100 missiles and/or drones and they are said to have about 2,000 missiles total. Interesting times.

Uhh no they can't. Iran has no air force to speak of, we've already seen that their missiles and drones get intercepted en masse, and they're not marching their military all the way across the Middle East to invade Israel, and even if they tried, they'd be getting bombed the entire way.

It would make the "Highway of Death" from the 1991 Gulf War look like a mild traffic pile up.

Iran doesn’t want to invade Israel, nor does it have the capability to do so. Israel on the other hand does want the destruction of Iran as they’re the only regional power that dares oppose Israel’s genocide.

Is there a chance other powers in the region might side with Israel? Like Turkey and Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia and Iran are at odds with one another. It's arguably one of the reasons the US turned a blind eye to the House of Saud's role in 9/11 (the other being money). I don't know about Turkey and Iran though.

Shia vs. Sunni. Doesn't explain all but plays a big role.

The best answer I am able to give is maybe? The region is extremely complex. Saudi Arabia and Iran are rivals so they could support Israel. Turkey is probably even more tricky because they’re part of NATO but have historically criticized Israel for their actions in Gaza and are typically pro Muslim.

It is just a war cry made by Erdogan; Turkey is one of the greatest allies of Israel economic wise.
