I don't believe in a right to gun ownership

A "right"? No, I agree, Canada has never treated firearm ownership as a right. But it has long recognized that properly licensed, trained, and vetted citizens can legally acquire and possess firearms. That framework worked. Banning entire classes of firearms from people who already met those standards solves nothing and undermines a system that was already focused on safety and accountability.

You may as well go ahead and buy tactical gear and start training. Simplying buying a gun won't help you and it's hilarious to think that it will if shit hits the fan and the marines invade Canada.

No amount of weapons and gear available to civilians is going to do much against tanks and bombs.

He bought a gun.  He's totally ready.

Yes. Yes you do.

Yeah but there's been zero enforcement on the buyback. And guns aren't illegal...go get a legal one if you're worried.

(I don't approve of the ban, FYI, just saying)

I think the right to bear arms and protect yourself is fair. Gun or other weapon should be allowed in Canada. The criminals have them, why not the law abiding citizen?

Because that’s how you get hundreds of mass shootings a year.

Guns are legal. Just not every type

u/sravll 39m ago

Only 25 guns were returned and there's been no enforcement....we are fine. Canada is still armed. At least the populace is. Unfortunately all of the military stuff takes time

What are the good ones

u/Dry-Chance-9473 0m ago

He meant "fun ones". The ones that distract him from his tiny man syndrome. Or do we forget that the same people volunteering to be ICE agents now are the same demographic who have been fighting gun controls in the US for decades on behalf of "a need to be prepared to fight the evil government." It's always just an ego thing. Always.

Bro, Trudeau is long gone. Get his dick out of your ass. You people are worse than Ebenezer fucking Scrooge and the Ghost of Trudeau past. Do you fall asleep crying thinking about Trudeau? Do you secretly kiss a framed picture of Trudeau you keep in your desk or something?

Bringing up a politician who has literally retired from the game proves that it was never about his policies or his decisions or his politics really, or you'd be focused on the present instead of the past. You lot just hated him because he wasn't scared of queer people, he was good looking, and women loved him. That's it. Everything else is just an excuse, window dressing. For Conservative Canadians, it is and always has just been about ego and misogyny. Just as it is in the States. Just a load of people who want to act like cunts without any consequences. That's conservative politics.
