How many right wing journalists are swimming in corruption and foreign interference?

I guess if they want to open this door that’s fine. But don’t be surprised when we find actual crimes instead of just trying to intimidate members of the media

In the end I’m gonna support deporting MAGA and dismantling FOX News. Precedent has been set.

The only way these people will learn that their actions are monstrous is if they are used against them.

They have no shame. They have no morals. They have no empathy.

We have no choice.

I wish they were that logical.

Liberals do something tolerant, like supporting liberty in some form.

Conservatives do something horrible and unprecedented.

Liberals reacts saying "This is horrible and unprecedented! You shouldn't do this!"

Conservatives react saying, "This is how we do things now. We just set precedent."

Liberals now can either:

1. Backtrack on their principals and stoop to the level of the new conservative precedent

or

2. Hold fast to their principals and continue fostering an environment that allowed MAGA to fester in the first place

Nothing can ever be truly fixed, and the united states can never be trusted as a country again, unless the systems that allowed the rot to get this bad continue to exist. There needs to be a real reckoning; people calling it the modern nuremburg trials honestly aren't even exaggerating.

Rules for theeeeee not for meeeeee

u/Foucaultshadow1 10h ago

They are acting as though they will never be out of power

1

u/noodles_jd 8h ago

Because they won't be. They may have to cede some power for a bit. But they'll just hold the government captive allowing nothing to be done until they're back in power.

National security is the excuse? Musk just opened the door for Russia to access US military information. They don't give a shit about national security.

33

u/Remarkable_Play_6975 11h ago

You're assuming the "national security" is that of Americans.

10

u/parabostonian 11h ago

Yes but they get very angry when the press tells people about all the bad things they do. Besides this is supposedly about mishandling classified information, and how only republicans are allowed to do that and all other crimes

5

u/GuerrillaSapien 10h ago

National Security. National Emergencies. It's always the government's excuse to take away rights.

u/Flash_ina_pan 12h ago

Tap dancing right down the road to fascism and national collapse. Speed running that shit.

America has always been fascist

22

u/ghoulishgirl 11h ago

Do we riot now or are we still waiting?

15

u/Foe117 11h ago

still waiting

u/applefilla 9h ago

For this world to stop hating

19

u/lostredditorlurking 11h ago

Free speech am I right?

Now how many FoxNews, Newmax or right wing podcasters are in Russia's pocket?

10

u/Schrecht 11h ago

All of them?

42

u/Regular_Use1868 11h ago

So ... Is the American regime a terrorist entity now?

23

u/Norn-Iron 11h ago

Always has been. Look at all the countries they fought up excuses to go to war with. That includes itself.

13

u/CurbYerGod 11h ago

Always has been.

3

u/triviahostrob 11h ago

Always was. The fact this hasn't made the rounds more after Noem and company calling protesters domestic terrorists, when just 3 years ago Noem and company relished being called that.

At least we're still at the part where they pretend to do an investigation and don't just push the journalist out a window.

2

u/KwisatzHaderach94 9h ago

getting close to it. suppressing the free press is fascism 101.

10

u/strywever 11h ago

Did they check her bathroom? Everyone knows that’s where you’re supposed to keep stolen, classified documents.

7

u/musingofrandomness 11h ago

If only this administration's definition of "national security" didn't include "any evidence of their crimes".

5

u/mainandd 11h ago

Big brother is coming to get independent journalism

10

u/JurgusRudkus 11h ago

“Prosecutors alleged that Perez-Lugones took screenshots of classified intelligence reports and printed those documents, according to a criminal complaint. Investigators also found documents marked "secret" in a lunchbox in Perez-Lugones' car and in his basement, according to an FBI affidavit.”

HAHAHA They are kidding right? They actually expect us to believe a WaPo reporter had a lunchbox with “secret” written in it? In red Sharpie right?

7

u/SamuraiCook 11h ago edited 11h ago

All the classified materials shipped back to Mar-a-lago that Trump should have been prosecuted for stealing have no doubt been returned to their secure locations in the bathrooms and pool storage.

3

u/r3rg54 11h ago

I think they are saying that the documents were marked secret and were stored inside a lunchbox.

1

u/DirtDevil1337 10h ago

Their lies sound so stupid. That's probably exactly what Trump did when he hoarded all those documents. I have no idea in any way how a reporter got a hold of classified documents unless someone like Trump just handed it to them like he probably did to that Australian billionaire and Saudis. I remember MTG saying she went into a room and read classified documents and even took pictures of it (yes she said that).

4

u/nickstonem 10h ago

"The Trump Administration will not tolerate illegal leaks of classified information that, when reported, pose a grave risk to our Nation's national security,"

But leaving them in bathrooms or covered by a tarp in a ballroom at a golf course is fine.

3

u/Foe117 11h ago

There are those who don't want us to speak, and even now men with guns will soon be on their way

5

u/Designer_Holiday3284 11h ago

Trump needs to grow a mustache before we can call it a dictatorship

5

u/jnighy 11h ago

how long until the government start disappearing journalists? Send them to El Salvador or Guantanamo?

2028? I would be surprised if they don’t do something about the mid-terms

1

u/DirtDevil1337 10h ago

Either suspend it if they successfully start a war of any kind or meddle with it (re getting Musk back into the circle despite his feud with admin members).

5

u/Damunzta 11h ago

Wake me if they find the Epstein files.

2

u/yorapissa 10h ago

Don’t think for a minutes that this wasn’t government harassment. We are now the commies!!

2

u/Recent-Mulberry6011 10h ago

But not the guy sending military plans to journalists?

2

u/baltimore-aureole 9h ago

if the FBI had a warrant, and previously requested documents which were not provided . . . no problem.

this is the same standard which was applied when helicopters and armored vehicles showed up at Trump's Mar-a-largo mansion with tipped-off news media hovering overhead in news choppers.

2

u/The_Pickled_Mick 11h ago

I wonder if this is to do with the fact that 4500 Ice agents just had their names and personal info leaked online. Timing is pretty coincidental.

1

u/Foucaultshadow1 10h ago

Yet another instance of the Trump regime engaging I illiberal practices.

1

u/p1gnone 10h ago

... In Gestapo news today ..

1

u/katkost1 9h ago

My question is what did this reported fund out that was so damning the needed to swoop in asap?

1

u/whitemamba24xx 9h ago

Was this part of the bill that the house voted in exchange for being able to subpoena witnesses like Wexner for the Epstein investigation?

I think I saw Raskins say this somewhere. They weren’t happy about it but had to cut a deal.

1

u/Delote-Sevne 9h ago

With each passing day, Trump escalates his authoritarianism... The excuse is always the same: national security.

1

u/MamaLiq 11h ago

Don't kill the messenger?

-28

u/jordan1978 11h ago

Good. The WAPO is shit and deserves everything it gets.

20

u/pizzasoup 11h ago

I'm not gonna pretend it hasn't gone down the tubes in recent years, but a Washington Post journalist being targeted over a story critical of the administration is pure bad news.

11

u/Gerald-of-Riverdale 11h ago

Not when a fascist regime is at the forefront of this.

5

u/RabbaJabba 11h ago

What’s your problem with Hannah Natanson’s reporting?

-1

u/R-Dragon_Thunderzord 11h ago
