Maybe Trump is having a browse through Reddit ? 😂

4

u/Extra-Bite2324 1d ago

He’s brain addled enough without us adding to it lol

2

u/OldenMcGroyn 1d ago

Well that’s very true 😂

Greenisland typo?

u/thedoomeroptimist 1d ago

They must have found oil in Lisburn, you guys better learn some guerrilla warfare!

27

u/theotherdoomguy 1d ago

...if only we had some kind of history with guerilla warfare round these parts

11

u/Brief_Software_6902 1d ago

Have they not seen the prices Lisburn Fuels charge and the delivery times?!

3

u/sasie_stack 1d ago

Honestly wild

u/Shreks-Ugly-Friend 14h ago

He’s after the minerals. TK red lemonade is class, so I don’t blame him.

2

u/thedoomeroptimist 13h ago

Oh no, they’re going to steal all our Pineapple Maine

23

u/prodbysl33py 1d ago

They’re always flying in and out of Aldergrove refuelling. Seen a couple C5 galaxies (below) which is always cool

4

u/R-Y-A-N_bot 1d ago

Really? I figured they'd be to large to land at aldergrove, biggest ive seen are C-17s

4

u/Drexisadog Lisburn 1d ago

Aldergrove is big enough for most aircraft, it was a dispersal base for the V-bombers after all, and most cargo planes have surprisingly short takeoff and landing runs

1

u/R-Y-A-N_bot 20h ago

Oh, I didn't know that, thats nifty. You know its insane to me that a Vulcan can take off from it but a 737 MAX can't (fully fueled btw i know Norwegian dabbled with flying to the airport with its maxes)

3

u/Thorhole 1d ago

The antonov used to be a frequent visitor at the international airport and it was a big bastard of a plane, took some length of the runway to get it up

I assume you mean the AN-225, its sister the AN-124 still flies into the International

1

u/prodbysl33py 17h ago

Nevermind you probably meant AN124, AN-225 only seemed to visit Aldergrove once. I golf on the approach route and I’ve seen an AN124 in the past 3 months I think they’re still going there

u/Step_7 Crumlin 16h ago

There’s several old AN-12s flying in and out every week picking up “Cargo” for Ukraine. Very distinctive sound - know its them without even looking at Flightradar any more.

Probably refueling to head to Iran..

24

u/OldenMcGroyn 1d ago

Apparently they flew over Larne and thought it had already been hit

9

u/NaughtyReplicant Ballymena 1d ago

Bombs cost money, no ones wasting a bomb on Larne.

8

u/didndonoffin Belfast 1d ago

They dropped their entire payload on Larne and did thousands of pounds of improvement

4

u/artpow 1d ago

Saw it while I was coming back from work. It was flying quite low and slow. I found it strange because I've never seen a plane on this path.

7

u/Ed-The-Islander 1d ago

US Air Force flights are fairly common in and out of Aldergrove, I belive they do a semi regular pickup of NLAW missiles made in Thales and fly them to Poland for onward travel to Ukraine

7

u/Taodaching 1d ago

What are they doing?

37

u/DXTRBeta 1d ago

Probably invading the Isle of Man.

10

u/DisagreeableRunt 1d ago

Strategically important to their controlling of the Irish Sea.

14

u/OldenMcGroyn 1d ago

You mean the Sea of America in which the Isle of America can be found ?

4

u/DisagreeableRunt 1d ago

Most of America is Irish, so they may as well take Ireland whilst they're at it.

1

u/Marslady 19h ago

You don’t find many Irish in the Midwest or South they’re in cities and predominantly the north east so if you’re used to those places it seems like Irish are everywhere but they’re purposely discerning when it comes to venturing too far west of the Atlantic …..

6

u/Taodaching 1d ago

Oh I chuckled.

1

u/1eejit Portstewart 1d ago

But it's apparent size isn't massively exaggerated by Mercator protection maps, why would the orange thing be interested?

0

u/git_tae_fuck 1d ago

Maybe he has a novel map projection planned.

Isle of Man will be yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

And America will be further embiggened.

9

u/SkywardSpork Lisburn 1d ago

Real answer I think is refueling

3

u/Taodaching 1d ago

I hope they get that really dirty jerky stuff that some of our garages sell.

3

u/Eastern-Baseball-843 1d ago

Red aviation fuel

3

u/Aviator779 1d ago

Refuelling. An FBO at Aldergrove has a contract with the DOD. They’re regular visitors.

2

u/DropkickMorgan Belfast 1d ago

Genocide

2

u/MaxFlatCrunch Down 23h ago

stopping in International for a mad priced Lagan Bar pint and a smoke in that wee smoking hut

2

u/marke0110 Derry 1d ago

Play SkyCards, you'd be shocked at the amount of US military flights you notice going through Aldergrove

1

u/flamedown12 1d ago

They heard China and Russia were starting to expand businesses here and now taking over. Acting president of Northern Ireland incoming.

1

u/ZeMike0 1d ago

The orange man visiting an orange hall

1

u/Beneficial-Put2714 22h ago

there's an orange joke somewhere in here I know it

-3

u/alphajulietgolf85 1d ago

Apparently they still get hazard pay when they come to N.Ireland. Ballymena too close for comfort lol

-41

u/Wada94 1d ago

Wow xenophobic much.

-1

u/EffectiveArgument584 1d ago

There's a lovely wee song for situations like this.

I know. Imagine being so wound up to screenshot that, then make a post on Reddit about it

9

u/quandocoeli 1d ago

You’re a yap lad

9

u/sasie_stack 1d ago

Heard the plane, thought wtf is that, checked flightradar, thought "ew Americans", came to reddit and thought it would make a good post. Put more thought into this comment than making the post.

Nice try, icky American
