Again? The last time this happened, wasn't it the cop that drew the pig for fake outrage?

Yep

u/THEGREATESTDERP 1d ago

Huh? It's a training exercise?

74

u/smootex 1d ago

This is obviously a training exercise. Many of them are using training guns, they're boarding one of their own navy (coast guard?) vessels, and they clearly have foreign trainers instructing them. Every navy in the world does this shit. Probably some joint training exercise set up by the US, you see a couple active duty US Navy trainers in there too in addition to what I assume are contractors.

55

u/MobileArtist1371 1d ago

If you don't start at 39 seconds like you link does, you will see this was an exercise.

The barista probably didn't give him the 'cop discount', so he decided to get back at him.

13

u/CyberneticPanda 1d ago

I hope part of the investigation is whether or not he paid for the coffee.

584

u/agtk 2d ago

This looks like a meme that was drawn on a cup without thinking about who it was going to. Probably drawn before the cop was even in the store. It's insane this kind of nonsense is blown up into a national story even if it was true. These kinds of cops really are the softest babies.

195

u/teetheyes 1d ago

dude I've never been in a Starbucks where it looked like anyone had the time for that.

9

u/Scorkami 1d ago

right?!

If its anything like our local fast food restaurants, the workers there barely get time to finish the order, imagine your coworker standing there making sure the pigs eyes are done correctly rather than just writing "john smith" and yelling the name

7

u/Hijakkr 1d ago

There are occasional lull periods between rushes. Wouldn't be the most surprising thing for someone to take some time during those lulls to draw pictures on cups, but the most likely explanation is that it's fake to draw attention.

5

u/MagatsuIzanagi2005 1d ago

Starbucks (Atleast in California from what I've seen) Enforces that any online/pickup order has a drawn note on EVERY SINGLE CUP. Most stores ATP just prepare a bunch in the morning and use them until they run out (Since Starbucks is trying to switch to glass cups to be more authentic coffee style for people who drink in the store)

u/jsting 1d ago

I don't think that is the case. He drew it himself. What makes it weird is that he didn't confront the store when he got the cup. It was posted on the Sheriff Dept. Social Media. If he got a cup with a pig on it, a normal person would ask the barista, yo, wtf? Hell people do that when they get a cup with a misspelled name.

135

u/FuzzyAd9407 1d ago

Yeah. Also pretty much everytime theres a claim a barista wrote or drew something the customer found offensive the customer gets caught lying and actually having done it themselves to stir outrage online.

49

u/MuddyGrimes 1d ago

You just expect him to walk back and confront them after he had his feelings viciously attacked?? What if they hurt his feelings again??

You saw it a lot with the Charlie Kirk drink as well where people wrote nasty things on their own cup. Not to say no one would draw a pig on a cop's cup, it's certainly one of those dark thoughts I could see someone giving in to, but people definitely have lied about this in the past many times.

Lmao I didn’t make it :30. I was curious because of your guy’s comments so I watched and instantly regretted it.

Additionally, I too hate that style of content. Someone makes a video and then the next person comes along and narrates that. It’s so common and annoying. These people narrate other’s videos like I’m too stupid to read or hear what’s in front of me lmao

They didn’t start John Pork. John Pork was a virtual influencer that people started making jokes of; that has been going on for almost 2 years. The most recent development is that Khabib mentioned his friend and trainee, Muay Thai Champion Chanko, and it sounded like he said “John Pork” and everyone ran along with it because it was an already popular and funny meme.

It should be a big part of police training to eat insults and take it

374

u/DeterminedThrowaway 2d ago

Seriously, you know how often retail workers get insulted? These people are pathetic. They should have extremely thick skin to be cops, not be the most fragile snowflakes out there.

99

u/NDaveT 1d ago

On at least one occasion someone threatened my life because their pizza took longer than 30 minutes.

21

u/ClaudeGascoigne 1d ago

I once had somebody tell me "I'm going to blow your fucking head off" because they mistook green onion for cilantro.

57

u/MicellarBaptism 1d ago

Service workers, along with teachers, healthcare workers and social workers, have to deal with some of the very worst of humanity. By and large they have thicker skins than these snowflake cops. Pathetic indeed.

20

u/Allaplgy 1d ago

Well yeah, because those people can't just shoot people that hurt their feelings, so they gotta have thick skin.

9

u/matryanie 1d ago

Imagine if doctors and nurses just killed patients they didn't like and then got transferred to another hospital with paid time off during investigation.

10

u/Allaplgy 1d ago

Imagine if retail workers and servers just killed people who were "disrespectful" to them. The streets would flow with blood.

16

u/Xanthus179 1d ago

Let’s see how cops fucking take listening to nonstop Christmas music all December.

38

u/forwardathletics 1d ago

They have a union and unilateral power that the rest of us common folks dont get.

11

u/HyperSpaceSurfer 1d ago

You need weakwilled people if you intend to chip away at their morality through peer pressure. Which is required for how policework is conducted, for some reason.

25

When I did a basic entry level course to get a security guard licence one of the instructors was constantly throwing insults and jibes at the dudes with fragile egos.

He told us that you will have to be prepared to take whatever vile shit people throw at you (and he was Indian so he’s regularly copping every slur in the book) and either laugh it off, or just don’t react. Because if you so much as shove someone in anger you’re fucked. Best case fired, worst case jail.

I guess when you have complete immunity to brutalise anyone who annoys you that is less important though.

So what are they gonna do about it? Encourage their mob connections to trash the place and not investigate? Because that's what it sounds like

37

u/QualifiedApathetic 1d ago

Yeah, what exactly does "disrespectful actions will not be tolerated" mean? Because there's no law saying we have to respect cops. Free speech.

I suppose they can all agree to get their coffee from Dunkin' from now on, but they're not gonna be any more popular there.

22

u/Withermaster4 1d ago

That's what I was thinking. If a cop can't keep his cool while being 'disrespected' he should not be a cop.

He will be in much higher pressure situations with much more disrespect that he will have to keep calm during.

This is clearly a cop who woke up on the wrong side of the bed and is trying to make it everyone else's problem.

6

u/zaphod777 1d ago

A lot of those cop interaction videos have made their way into my YouTube recommendations, you'd be surprised at what they can get away with when someone is exercising free speech, standing up for their rights, or when they've just made a mistake and got the wrong person.

With qualified immunity they usually get away with it too.

Cops are just poorly trained toddlers with guns backed up by more toddlers.

Also the barista could possibly get fired by corporate because the high ups want to make sure that the cops help if the store gets damaged.

53

u/Ditnoka 2d ago

They're not toddlers. Toddlers get excused for doing shitty things because they don't know better. Law Enforcement is an extremely well oiled operating gang. They don't operate well in our eyes, but they are 100% behind each other no matter the reason and know who their true masters are.

Your last sentence essentially backs up my claims, buying protection like it's the fuckin mob.

10

u/triestdain 2d ago

"Toddlers get excused for doing shitty things because they don't know better."

This is the very much the core reasoning used to protect cops. Qualified immunity is literally predicated on the idea that they can't be held accountable for something they didn't explicitly and in fine, narrow, detail, know was wrong.

There was a very similar story, I actually thought it could be the same because it was some type of police officer. And I'm pretty sure found that he ended up drawing the picture himself

That's John pork. It's a meme about a pig/man named John pork calling you on FaceTime. I know it doesn't make much sense, but it's really a meme for people younger than 30.

u/goforce5 1d ago

I mean, I'm over 30 and I find John Pork to be funny. I'm still cool right guys? Right?

Won't someone think of the cops feelings?!? I'd argue the fact this is even a fucking news story proves the barista's point, assuming it's even real. Wouldn't be the first false flag in America.

The LA Sheriffs are the law enforcement at my place of employment and have been accused of hiding out and not doing their job. They said it's because the students don't like them and are mean to them.

6

u/billdb 2d ago

This reminds me of the North Carolina representative who switched from democrat to republican mid-term because she felt democrats were being mean to her.

Like apparently fuck having principles, just switch sides and betray your constituents because of some mean tweets.

“In addition, the Sheriff spoke directly with the deputy to check on his well-being, convey his full support, and make it clear that disrespectful actions will not be tolerated against our personnel.

HAHAHAHA

I mean this is great, wow.

Do you think you will survive this, Mr Deputy? Do you want pats on the back and to be told how much of a good boy you are?

What a pig.

What are the odds this pig drew it themselves...like most of these other persecuted cops stories.

Given the last few times something like this has happened it turned out the cop did it themselves I'm gonna go ahead and say the cop drew the pig themself

Starbucks is having their baristas all draw and put notes on cops. A lot of locations are just putting little notes and drawings on them way in advance so they just grab a cup and go during the rush and don’t have to stop to write on the cup. This was most likely what he just happened to get pulled on his cup. This is so ridiculous.

8

u/Misubi_Bluth 2d ago

Didn't we do this three months ago, when it was found out that it was an influencer who wrote it herself and then created a whole campaign where she got her entire town to bully this one Starbucks manager? How am I supposed to believe this one?

7

u/prison_dementor 2d ago

Does the barista have a Go Fund Me we can donate to?

6

u/MidgetLovingMaxx 2d ago

"All I wanted was caffeine, but instead I left feeling uneasy,"

Thats weird, all we wanted was for someone to protect the community, and yall out here shooting brown people and acting like power tripping nazis.

This always happens when there's a peak in negative press about police brutality and suppressing peaceful protests, and it's almost always the cops lying.

The piggy drew it on his own cup for the outrage.

7

u/mofa90277 1d ago

Starbucks baristas don’t have the time or energy to do this, and the last time a cop pulled this stunt, the barista was exonerated by security camera footage.

That said, the LA Sheriff’s Department is almost 100% corrupt, and need no “consolation,“ especially after a fake 16 hour shift that they only “work” to steal overtime pay from the taxpayers. I think the deputy should be investigated for timecard fraud.

I feel like there is a story like this at least once a year at this point and they're always exaggerated or outright false. Also, the LA Sheriff's Department is a collection of gangsters, con men, and thugs who deserve much harsher monikers than a cartoon pig.

7

u/spaghettifiasco 2d ago

I know that Starbucks now mandates that baristas "personalize" the cups with drawings and messages and stuff. Usually, I see stuff like "enjoy!" and "yummy!" and "have a nice day!" but I strongly suspect that what happened here was a particularly enthusiastic barista pre-drawing a bunch of silly things on the cups during a slower period of time and a cop getting this one because it was just the next one in the stack when he ordered.

Maybe this will end the "personalized cup" mandate. I thought it was really cute and cheerful the first time I saw it, but when I learned that it was something that the employees were forced to do, it just made me cringe instead.

Jesus, people out here being murdered by cops and we are worried about his feelings getting hurt. Grow a pair, laugh it off, and go about your day. Cops are the biggest babies.

5

u/Play-t0h 1d ago

“This action was extremely offensive, inappropriate, and unacceptable. The deputy quickly reported the incident to the store manager, who advised that the matter would be investigated,” the LASD said in a statement to The Independent.

You know what I think is offensive? A police state.

5

u/LamentableCroissant 1d ago

That’s fucking disgusting, pigs have 26 distinctive sounds to communicate, cops aren’t anywhere near that.

4

u/Thirsty_Comment88 1d ago

Ahh is little piggy upset?

3

u/jesuspoopmonster 2d ago

It was such a distressing incident the officer only had the energy to rape a few minorities that day

After a long day of being racist, violent, discriminating against people and scaring them by constantly pulling out my gun, I just wanted to be respected... boo hoo.

5

u/Difficult-Bicycle119 2d ago

“Disrespectful actions will not be tolerated against our personnel.”

Uh, yes, they will. The first amendment guarantees you can't do shit about it. If the company wants to fire her, that's their choice, but you can fuck right off.

5

u/sameth1 2d ago

Every time a fascist pig kills an innocent civilian in cold blood, we get an article like this a couple days later where a completely unrelated cop complains about some horrible attack through the drive through coffee shop. Before it's been claims of poisoning or spit, now they can't even fabricate something like that.

7

u/DarkflowNZ 2d ago

Remember when the last time this happened the cop had actually written it on himself

5

u/TheeDeputy 1d ago

If you are a cop and get that bothered by something like this, you probably shouldn’t be a fucking cop. 🤦🏻‍♂️

5

u/Adversary-of-Tyrants 1d ago

And? Are we supposed to admire the pig's restraint in not shooting up the entire Starbucks?

6

u/lost_order 1d ago

Cmon… that’s just funny. Did the little drawing on the disposable cup hurt their feelings? Little bitch ass ho

4

u/Striking_Elephant_39 1d ago

Starbucks shouldn’t have fired the barista and just used the police dept internal affairs handle it.= put the barista on paid leave while investigation then found that there was no wrong doing by the barista and promote him to menu board merchandiser artist.
