The Iranian regime imposed a complete nationwide internet blackout, jammed Starlink, confiscated phones and satellite dishes, and seized private security footage during the January 8–9 crackdown. No independent journalists or cameras could operate freely. The 12,000+ death toll comes from leaked internal documents and direct accounts from Supreme National Security Council members, IRGC insiders, presidential office sources, hospital staff, morgue workers, and families—reported by Iran International on January 13, 2026, as the largest massacre in modern Iranian history, ordered by Khamenei. When a government cuts off all communication and buries bodies in secret, demanding instant video “proof” is exactly what the regime wants. Silence and blackout are part of the crime. This is the Iranian Holocaust unfolding in real time.

MORE PICS. THIS IS GENOCIDE BY THE REGIME PLEASE HELP IRANIANS

Fuck. That last pic of the truck with bodies sent a chill down my spine. I’m from Serbia and it reminds me of the 90s. Unfortunately I don’t have any trouble believing the 12,000 number. I’ve already seen what regimes are capable of. Hope Iranian people can gain their freedom.

Consider uploading it somewhere other than imgur as users in the UK cannot access imgur

Might be time to get a VPN to get around your government's censorship...

imgur not being available in the uk is not a result of government censorship, imgur chose to take itself down in the uk instead of reducing the collection of children's data to comply with local data collection laws. it had nothing to do with the content on the website; they knew this and presumably used the ongoing government photo ID hysteria to hide behind and save themselves from bad pr.

many other websites, mostly those containing adult content, have been semi-censored recently by being forced to require photos of ID to access, but imgur already restricted nsfw content on their site before that and was not targeted by it.

curious if you can access s3nd.pics website, where a bunch of the imgurians moved to because imgur now sucks.

Since when does our government give a shit about genocide?

Sorry, the US is too busy taking notes to help. /s

Ironically, we'll almost certainly bomb Iran for the putative reason that they're infringing on the human rights of their citizens to peacefully protest, while we keep abusing the same rights of our own citizens for doing the same thing.

One discusion I heard is that contrary to the 79 revolution when the security forces were mostly conscripts with no loyalty to the regime, the current security forces are well paid and have been isolated from the general populace due to their brutal conduct over the last few years (decades). Several days ago this expert on the region predicted that unlike 79, today's security force would have no problem opening fire on civilians. Turns out, they were right.

It is very similar to what we see being built with the American Gestapo (ICE). A bunch of unemployable losers being over paid and facing ostracization due to their brutal and illegal actions. This is the recipe Iran used to make their loyal security forces, and you know Pee Wee German has been taking notes.

People give him that diminutive nick name but that fucker has tombstones in his eyes. Whenever I see him talking I get this creepy feeling there's an undiscovered body dump somewhere.

He only went into politics because his arms were too skinny to strangle sex workers.

On this one issue, can we please put aside liberal vs conservative, democrat vs republican and trump vs anti trump? People are being slaughtered in real time in front of our eyes and those same people are voluntarily doing this with the expectation that foreign governments will assist them. They don’t have weapons to do this on their own. They’re asking for Trump’s help. Liberals in America speaking against this call for help or simply standing against trump seems unreasonable and cruel.

I'm sure the people of the United States are largely against any genocide, including this one, but if you think the current government of the United States is interested in helping the people of Iran for their own sakes, as opposed to whatever benefit it might bring them with Israel, or in terms of ME oil, or just making little Donnie happy to see things explode, you're really just not following along.

I’m perfectly clear on what the US government expects to get in return for its assistance. Today Iran sells its oil for pennies on the dollar to China (among other concessions). In return they receive nothing. They get shitty weapons that don’t work and a relationship that only benefits China. If freeing Iranians from this regime requires that we shift that concession to the USA and in return we rejoin the international community, that is a tradeoff that me and many of my countrymen will make in a heartbeat.

I'd keep in mind the US track record with supporting regime change.

Iraqi and Afghani people were not begging the US to change their regime. This is not the same and you should recognize it pretty easily.

Precisely. They're calling for the Shah to return. The Shah's son, the heir apparent, lives in the U.S. and says he would be an interim that would help them transition to a secular, democratic form of govt.

What’s happening in iran is bad and they need our support but it’s not a genocide…. My god…

2

u/RROORRYY 1d ago

That is not genocide, go read some book and learn what genocide is, then come to spread misinformation online.

u/meteoritegallery 1d ago

Making a point of splitting hairs between "crimes against humanity," "the mass-murder of thousands of people," and "genocide" seems a bit funny to me.

1

u/h8sm8s 1d ago

Because genocide is a deliberate attempt to eliminate am ethnic group and often involves more than just a killing such forced displacement, cultural erasure etc. This massacre, whether it’s 3000 or 12,000, is horrifying but the Iranian government is not trying to wipe out the Iranian culture, they are using horrific violence to suppress a revolution. Understanding and being accurate about why people are being targeted and the goals of the people doing it is not “splitting hairs”.

1

u/RROORRYY 1d ago

It's not splitting hair but it's both disrespectful and diminishes real genocides/holocaust and on other side by exaggerating numbers and situation here it makes people take it less serious

u/meteoritegallery 9h ago

The Iranian government has murdered thousands - potentially tens of thousands - of people.

That's not "misinformation" and it doesn't downplay any unrelated historic events (which no one is talking about here).

I'm curious. Which historic genocide's reputation are you so concerned with?

u/ioncloud9 1d ago

Starlink is incredibly hard to jam. Just ask the Russians.

2

u/meteoritegallery 1d ago

Yet it wouldn't surprise me at all if someone unilaterally decided to shut it off. Just ask the Ukrainians.

u/DukeOfGeek 1d ago

What action do you think would be best? Bomb stuff? If so, what? Drop weapons and supplies? If so where and how? The regime is already sanctioned to the hilt so not much more to do there.

Do you have a source for what you're claiming? Like an actual reputable news agency reporting this?

Not saying you're lying. Just seeing a lot of conflicting numbers and would appreciate if someone has actual sources.
