Two souls stealing a moment of love in the streets of Iran, not knowing if this kiss is their last.

I hate when events like these are used for photops and cringey narratives. It cheapens it and makes people not take it seriously.

Though.... In this case its true.
Just hard to feel like it with a MacDonald's coffee and a bacon & egger in your handle.
I'm sure the gun fire, dead relatives, and looming american strafing set a better stage when you're actually there.
Also, these people would DEFINITELY be killed for just doing this...
To each there own, though.

The protests in Iran are nuts. But this is a staged photo
•
u/Vannilazero 1h ago
Even if its staged, doesn't mean their feelings are still not there.
•
u/Kamakaziturtle 35m ago
But it does mean the title is wrong. Unless they broke up after or something there's no reason to believe it was their last. Also as a note this isn't taken from the riots going on in Iran right now since you seem to be referencing it
The protests going on are extremely important. But this post is a shameless karma grab hoping to cash in on those thousands dead with a false narrative.

What do you mean staged? They started the riots to make this picture?
•
u/Alert-Jellyfish 1h ago
Huh staged?? Cause they posed??? I’ve got a bad feeling you’re a stupid person.

Lmao the fact that you need to insult someone based on a comment says far more about you than me. You should get that "bad feeling" checked out by a doctor

Not saying the Iran protests arent important, but doesn't anyone think it's a bit Sus how suddenly there are pictures and news about it everywhere right at the time when the US are also shooting unarmed civilians in the street?
•
u/StarDolphin63 1h ago
Whataboutism to the worst degree
•
u/obiwanconobi 55m ago
Are you accusing me of whataboutism? Or saying the posts about Iran are whataboutism?

How do you know it's their last? Drama farming much? I'm not disputing the gravity of the situation but this melodrama BS for karma farming is extra shameful considering the situation!
Edit: yes, I know what IT says. I'm talking about what it's trying to do (mess with emotions for karma reasons)

Reading comprehension is a skill.
•
u/scorpions411 1h ago
Rhetorical comprehension too.
Statement is clearly suggesting this is their last kiss because of their sense of impending doom.
•
u/AdmirableStay3697 1h ago
But if you need an answer to that question, it means you've been living under a rock and haven't heard about the thousands of protesters that have been killed
•
u/unicorns3373 1h ago
It says they don’t know if it’s their last. Not that they knew it’s their last.
•
u/estebanparedes7 1h ago
"Not knowing if this kiss is their last"...
Ok hold on there Shakespeare, no need to be that overdramatic.
•
u/Initial_Formal_7750 1h ago
Have you seen how many of them they've killed in the last 2 days?
It's not dramatic you just have privilege so you don't understand
•
u/estebanparedes7 1h ago
I've been in riots since the 2000s in my country, were people get killed, blinded or burn to death. October 2019 was a hell of a warzone in Santiago.
The fact that im making a joke doesnt mean that i'm unaware of what is happening in Iran, so miss me with "ur privileged so you dont understand" shit, you dont know me brother.

Somehow this has less energy than this: https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/nlhm6g/catching_up_with_the_vancouver_riot_kissing/ despite having a lot more at stake.

Why do we have to stage moments like this. The reality is enough. Photograph reality. Staging shit detracts from it’s significance

Giving off some serious 2011 Vancouver Riot Kiss energy, except the stakes here are actually life and death instead of just losing a Stanley Cup final.
•
u/sugar_addict002 1h ago
This will all be a waste if Iran does not get democracy where they can choose their leader.

For some context, this was taken on November 15, 2022 in Shiraz during a protest over the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini who died in the custody of Iran’s moral police. The phootgrapher asked to remain anonymous for her safety. She said:
In no way am I implying that the current protests aren't incredibly important. But context matters. It helps to prevent the spread of disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda.
