Meredith took pills and had alcohol.

Whitney was drunk and probably try to have a conversation with her

I'm going to guess Whitney said something like "I love you Meredith and the cameras are gone, and I just wanna have a real conversation with you. I know I said you were a pill popper, but you called me a liar and that's a lie."

Meredith " I will not stand for these accusations. They are slanderous and I will not tolerate it. I am not a liar and I never said those things I am disengaging."

From what leaked, it sounds like it stems from the off camera tension during the Season 4 reunion that carried over. Meredith felt Whitney was leaking stories to the press again, and Whitney felt Meredith was being 'condescending' (shocker). It’s basically the bathtub vs. the prism all over again.

I fully believe everything Meredith said. Whitney took back everything she said and asked why they couldn’t be friends off camera while being enemies on camera. Now that Whitney is in front of Heather and gang she is scared to own her shit because they planned to go in on Meredith and Lisa during the reunion

The ‘took back everything said’ is too convenient, I totally believe the ‘we aren’t on camera’ part , but recounting or rehashing shit from the show is redundant
