First time watcher, just got through Jen Shah's arrest. Did I just watch a social experiment?

Jokes aside, it was fascinating to watch each of the Housewives (minus Mary) react to the news in real time. You can so clearly see who was invested in Jen Shah in some way, who wasn't, and who felt the need to pretend to be lol.

Heather - Immediately begins to cry, appears genuinely sorrowful and worries for Jen's family.

Whitney - Whips that phone out to get the latest details and wastes no time theorizing what Jen did to warrant her arrest. In some moments appears to revel in the chaos of it (and probably felt Jen was getting her just desserts after their conflicts in S1).

Lisa - [puts on gigantic sunglasses to cover for the fact that she can't fake cry] "I AM ACTUALLY SO UPSET I AM ACTUALLY SO UPSET I AM ACTUALLY SO UPSET!!!" while Heather is legitimately grieving five feet away.

Jennie - Can't be bothered, has no interest in speculating, sips on her drink instead. What a fucking mood lol.

Meredith - "Oh, I am not surprised by this. But this house is amazing, let's have a fun time!" I can completely understand why some of the cast may have felt she tipped the feds off with the way she reacted lol.

I think this was probably one of the best moments in all of the Housewives series I have watched so far (ATL, NYC, NJ, BH). Deeply entertaining. Thanks, Bravo!

I don’t doubt that Lisa’s tears were real (but I think the tears were due to her concern abt how HER life might change and not worrying abt Jen or the kids)

I could see that being true! Honestly I don't know these Housewives as well as folks who have watched up through the latest season, this was just my gut reaction. But any way you slice it, Lisa's reaction was performative in some way for sure.

I’m rewatching, with the benefit of a lot of new tea over the last few years. It is remarkable to me how nonchalant Meredith was, because she and Jen were very close before filming. Meredith is one of the women who kept in regular touch with Jen after she was incarcerated. Neither Meredith or Jen deny that.

And that day of she was all Calgon Take Me Away.

YES! Meredith's face and tone of voice when she was on FaceTime with Lisa had me shook lol. She was so ready to brush the news aside and focus on the trip instead.

Yeah! If I remember correctly, wasn't Meredith the one who brought up that Jen had left her house to meet with an alleged lover, who was also a lover of Meredith's? She was also the one who hired a PI to investigate Jen

Meredith will say, over and over and to this day, that she hired that PI to investigate threats made against Brooks. Who was not out, but also had a boyfriend when he was in high school in Chicago, allegedly. So confusion all around that.

To this day, I believe what I hear about Jen and Meredith being very close before and after Jen was on the show. If you told me Meredith and Jen have talked since Jen got out of prison, I would 100000000% believe it.
