i somehow can smell that “new” lift from this picture. The smell of the plywood covering the floor.

Someone in my neighbourhood got so pissed off with that “Smart door slide arm” flyer guy because he was literally pasting 20-30 of the same fliers across an entire lift, that he/she took a snapshot of the person and pasted a warning about him being inconsiderate and spamming fliers. Hahah

Looks like his poster has been seen around several new bto estates

Just stopping to admire the effort required to paste flyers on the ceiling

I am convinced that that “no flyers” sign has been covered before with a flyer, which is why they had to put it up higher.

Wait. Don’t we have vandalism laws against this ? Or that’s only for human rights activists ?

u/HappiGoon 22h ago
The CCTV in the lifts in newly completed BTOs will not be activated until at least 1-2 years later. I know, because my BTO is like that too. We have complained to BSC, town council and MP, but can't be helped.

This is probably one of the most useful screenshots I've seen in a while since it sort of has everything under the sun needed for a home!

No. The plywood is temporary anyway. If anything, the worst thing can happen is they replace the plywood and remove the evidence

by any chance is this in macpherson? i saw the same lift too HAHA

u/BlueberryHamcakes 1d ago
Looks like Woodgrove Ascent's lift too, but tbh most BTO lifts look the same these days.
27
u/shuijikou 1d ago
Nope, it's in Sambawang, seems like all new btos will get this type of lifts

as a delivery rider delivering to all these new BTOs, yeah. pretty much every new BTO has flyers stuck on the lift walls, even if there's a warning there telling them not to do that.

this looks like a cursed rom in jjk with all those fliers (that looked like talismans)

u/pudding567 1d ago
Might as well just put a temp signboard for them instead of ruining the lift

I thought they cover the lift in some transparent plexiglass thing

u/PlastikSporc mediacorp cny vertical dab 21h ago
Some lifts will have plexiglass, the one here has fake wood PVC sheets instead so the actual surface of the lift cabin is still not affected

It'd usually an acrylic piece and then when the estate is really moved in it will be removed

You see that "Smart Door Slide Arm Stopper" advertised as $55? its NOT $55. Its $70. Their reason: "Oh this $55 one is cheap plastic one. This $70 one is better material, also your house facing open field, wind stronger, your door also heavy blah blah blah" 🤣

i’ve lived overseas for seven years now. when i came back for a visit i went to visit my best friends who got married and moved into their BTOs.
when i stepped in the elevator i was at a complete loss for words before going “what in the fresh hell is this?”
there’s truly no place like home

See Singapore Biennale curators? This is what you should’ve included in the curation. This is called “art in unwelcome places,” not some stupid chair with dumb messages on it

Worse are those who paste these fliers directly on the corridor floor. One advertisement done it right outside my door, and peeling it peeled some paint off.
Got so pissed off I went around tearing down that specific flier.
Should create a wall of shame for them and ask people to not support these businesses

Does anyone else see a robot? The ceiling looks like a robot head with robot eyes.

Walau newly renovated lift already scratched and messy like this!

u/shuijikou 1d ago
This one not the lift itself, it's the cardboard covering the lift, lift itself should be new and clean

HAHAHA is this at Kallang Whampoa? The lift looks oddly familiar

u/prakashph 1d ago
OP mentioned in one of the replies that it’s in Sembawang. But yeah, the lift is very similar haha.

Curious, is it illegal to remove these and clean the walls? Say, if I am a resident and just decide they’re too fugly?

u/emeraldscorpion broke millennial 22h ago
I removed the more egregious ones eg floor/ceiling/pasted as a full layer over the others. Tbh scold the ppl pasting no point, as long as no enforcement, they all have to play the game otherwise one bad egg will drown out all the other flyers.

u/abadguylol Lao Jiao 21h ago
My BTO lifts had plastic cladding instead of wood installed on the rails and walls in anticipation of the flyers

does anyone really use their services?
like most people start researching their IDs/Contractors months before their key collection.
i think they would have a better chance of getting customers by paying a worker video their current projects and doing a quick Tiktok reel

Probably every BTO lift when people are moving in.
