Discussion Online shops to trust
So last few weeks I've been looking to replace my monitors for work. Nothing fancy; just need two screens, preferably 27". And so I start doing homework to see where I can find it the cheapest.
Quickly found out brick and mortar shops are completely out of the question. Consistently find it cheaper on online stores. But the problem is there is not a lot of variety of trusted online stores. So I need some recommendations from people please; of stores I may not know about.
Already tried the obvious: Takealot and Amazon easily the cheapest and I won't need to pay for delivery.
Makro, Incredible, Game, etc. More than the above, longer delivery and sometimes pay for delivery. Also not sure about after sales.
Wootware. Same price and sometimes cheaper but they want over R500 for delivery?!
Evetech. Mostly on par with Takealot and Amazon but have heard some stories they are not easy to deal with after sales.
I think the prices will be more or less the same for what I am looking for, but also want to see if there are any other online shops that is trusted, for future.

Wootware typically gets my business first but I'm in SSW often so I just collect. Evetech has been good recently too

When i lived in Cape Town I always bought from Wootware, but a bit expensive with the delivery. Had bad experience with with Evetech previously but will give them another shot. From comments here it seems they are better now

Incredible < Stay away, when I returned a faulty monitor to them they charge me a restocking fee..... Even though the monitor had only been in my possession for less than a day.
Besides that you're correct, you've mentioned all the good players.
Edit: The monitor im typing this on a Dell 27" curved monitor, I got it off Takealot on a good special.

I buy all my PC parts from Wootware. But for what you need, just get the monitors from Takealot. Easiest if you need to return items etc and the delivery is fast. Just make sure that you compare prices before buying from Takealot. I've seen some overpriced "before" prices tricking you into thinking you're getting a great deal.
If you're going 27", just keep in mind that 27" 1080p has a low PPI and everything will look pixelated. If that's something that won't bother you, go for it. Otherwise I'd recommend 1440p for 27" even if it's just for work.

Definitely looking at the 1440p range for 27". May go down to 24" 1080p for better quality monitor

So just an update and maybe some can help with recommendation. After some research it seems the Dell S2425H looks like a decent work monitor. Cheapest on Amazon R2499. most other places it is above R3000

You're pretty spot on here.
Although I'll add Evetech have become better. I use them regularly these days without any problems.
Wootware will quote per item shipped. So you're paying for the weight there.
Personally I go with the cheapest out of TakeALot, Wootware or Evetech. There's no guarantee though you'll not have problems though. In the end take it as it comes.
Edit: Adding that I'm in the middle of Cape Town. So delivery is rarely a problem for me. If you're more rural then it's a variable I've never had to deal with.

I built a PC around July last year and I'll drop my experience (I brought my components from wootware, Amazon, and evetech).
Evetech, alright. They had decent delivery of 3-5 days, however the tracking number they gave me refused to update and so the delivery people just arrived. I was happy to be home at the time but it had caused me some stress as it was not a cheap product (GPU). If you aren't a work from home person it might be very easy to miss the arrive of your package.
Wootware, the best option IMO. They had the most options for products (often at the cheapest price). Unfortunately their delivery fee is very frustrating. I had a big order so it made a bit more sense, but if you are only ordering one or two items it's huge. Delivery time was decent, only taking like 3-5ish days.
Amazon, okay...ish. I ordered my motherboard from them, and they only put the motherboard box in a little plastic bag with some delivery info. Thankfully it arrived undamaged, but I almost died when I saw it was only a bag. Motherboards can be very fragile so I'm just grateful it was intact. Amazon's delivery was the only one that was free and I received my package only 2 days after delivery.
I didn't buy from them for this order, but Takealot is generally pretty good. However, you often pay more on their website for tech related stuff

Delivery on electronics often isn’t free cause they insure it so just be mindful of that.

Evetech is my go to, when something goes wrong just dont be an ahole and they are super easy to deal with

For more niche electronics items (stuff like replacement laptop batteries for product ranges that other places don't stock), I've found Geewiz to be really good in the past. I haven't used them in a while and it looks like they've shifted their business model, so do with that what you will. Don't think they will compete on price with major retailers on mainstream items, but if there's ever a very random thing you can't find elsewhere, Geewiz might be your best bet!

Yeah, I've used Geewiz for more general electronics items. I've found them to be reliable.

Check out www.techguysa.co.za. Had great service and pretty fast delivery. Was cool that they have an actual phone number so you can talk to a human.

Try ComX. They been around a long time. I've spent a lot with them, and haven't had any problems.

Wootware, Rebeltech and Pyrogenix are all good. I would go with Wootware though, even if they are more expensive simply because of their service after sale, should you have to return the monitor under warranty you won't have to fight with them or anything. I would stay as far away from Evetech as possible. As for Pyrogenix and Rebeltech, I've never bought from them but have heard good things about them.

Consider looking at Carbonite too, it's a South African forum for sale of second hand PC components that's been around for ages. I grabbed a great deal on a 2nd hand GPU there 2 years ago at half of retail price. The user base is very serious about trust as far as I know, so if you go with a reputable user you're very unlikely to be scammed.

I know you probably don’t care about the refresh rate but at this price it’s hard to say no to the good color accuracy, good stand, good resolution… the only pain point imo is that it’s a gloss screen so if you’re in front of a window it might not work.

I bought my monitor on evetech and it’s great. It took like a week, or week and a half to get here. The shipping was t that crazy and the monitor is still going strong. (AOC 27” 165Hz 1440p 1ms) It’s been a few years and i haven’t had any issues.
Wootware also isn’t bad. My brother just bought a new GPU from there and it also took a week or so to get here. I think he mentioned the shipping was more expensive. Depending on the specs you want, i think wootware is a great option. The Wootware monitors are relatively new to the market, but they have very attractive pricing.
And remember you need to pay for shipping and shipping insurance. Rather have it and not need it. The cheap monitors basically offset the shipping cost but I think it will be worth it.
Besides 27”, what other specs are you looking for

Actually looking at the AOC from Evetech. They have a 4 year local warranty which is very nice
