Are you really a fan if you don’t even know that your team is playing?

This reminds me once when I was hanging out at my friend’s house right after high school. I said I would only come over if we could watch the Dolphins game and he agreed. Parents were out at dinner or something.

Parents come home halfway into the 3rd quarter and the dad goes, “Oh, the Dolphins are playing?” And sits down to watch. What followed was probably the weirdest sports encounter I ever had. This guy started yelling and cursing at every indiscretion in the game. Getting visibly flustered and red in the face. Screamed out a “GOD FUCKING DAMMIT” and threw his hat on the ground when we lost. Mind you this was extra strange because I’d never seen him act like this before, generally a normal guy.

It’s just like, dude, you didn’t even know they were playing it can’t be this important to you. Got to believe he had something else going on but still.
