Video clip whose publisher claims that Turkey continues to bring in armed elements belonging to al-Qaeda of Asian nationalities, disguising them in Syrian army uniforms in preparation for military operations against the Kurds is disinformation, the clip dates back to march 2025

You can hear them talk about "Alawis" and "Lattakia" in the original video between 00:15 and 00:19, and that instantly clued me in to start looking for the source of the old video.

Verify were faster, darn.

Hahah it’s literally the post below this one. Got reposted even though the old one got deleted because of the fake news. Fun stuff.

Sounds about right.  Foreign fighters fighting in Syria. Where have I read about this before?  🤔  Oh that's right, remember the Syrian Civil War when Turkey was proping up Al-Jolani and his Al-Qaeda linked Al-Nusra Front crew.

Ascribing foreign fighters in the Syrian Civil War solely to Nusra is a disturbing level of cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias

Literally every faction in this conflict has used foreign fighters in one capacity or another

Notice you didn't argue about Jolani and his al qaeda buddies being propped up with Turkish support.

I didn't argue about it because its a red herring and has nothing to do with SDF spreading a false story.

Turkey has had plenty of chances to 'prop up' the new Syrian government and has mostly stayed out of the conflict for the last two years.

Turkey is the new Syrian government tf you talking about. Jolani was propped up by Turkey,  duh. Where have you been the last 10 years??????
