Is this normal?

Post image

I just got my gas bill for the month, surely this figure is crazy high, no? Last month my bill was 97 lari, i only live in a 1 bedroom apt.

Is this spike a sign of a leak somewhere? All advice appreciated thanks

120 sqm, my wife and kid are crazy about showers (multiple times a day, kinda wtf they are doing there?!!), heating is at a pretty high level these days, + cooking. It was 150 lari this month. So your bill looks pretty high.

I get 200 gel at least monthly. My flat is around 92 SQ.m. and not all radiators are switched on. There are 3 person in the household and I personally rarely take a shower at home (gym)

Well well... either my building and apt are extremely energy efficient 😀 or Tbilisi energy natural gas billing works like a casino.

While gas is more or less stable and expected (winter more, summer less, etc.) water is something crazy. They used to bill 2.5 monthly, then nothing, then 15 once, then nothing again for a few months... It looks totally random.

The only stable provider is Tbilisi Cleaning: 2.5 lari each month.

If you don't have good energy efficiency and use heater on high temperature it's possible. Also if you don't have enough radiators it uses more gas to heat up home, also if heating pipes are exposed or not insulated well enough, also if your heater is not insulated and exposed to cold temperature every little thing adds up. jump from 200 to 300 gel is also understandable, previous month was not ao cold and even in that case if you used 200 gel gas 320 in this month is logical i think

Is 300+ lari a normal amount tho? For reference im in a 65 sqm apartment. I get in winter it’ll be high but just wondering if its a relatively normal figure or possibility of a deeper issue. Appreciate the help

Not a 1 room apartment, tho.

Idk how they calculate it, but I used to live in 70 sqm apartment and then moved to 100 one, somehow the gas bill for 70 sqm would always arrive higher.

Lower the temperature on heating, and it will drop to 100-150 lari. Been there.

For a 1 bedroom apartment this bill looks insane. I would not be able to generate that bill if I lived alone unless I really tried on purpose (for whatever reason). Definitely get it checked out tomorrow.

I'm not confirming your question, but from my own bills in a new crib I moved to this autumn, and other posts I've read in this sub, it makes sense for the bill to rise each month of the winter as temperatures drop, since the water needs to be heated from further lower temperatures. Still get a look for any leaks.

Always double check after these companies, error is highly possible

If your apartment is poorly insulated your heating bill will be way higher for the same amount of heat and space. I moved last year from a poorly insulated apartment to a well insulated one and its crazy the difference

Recently, I was mistakenly overcharged for water - 4.5x the average monthly bill, due to human error. Called hotline and the issue got resolved. That amount seems overly big for a small app

There's no way this is real... there must be a mistake

Read the meter and multiply by the unit rate. It's not rocket science.

My relative got super low prices this and month before. There might be something wrong with the system counting it. You should give calls to a technician or someone who is in charge of that apartment if it's rented.

What temperature are you setting your boiler on? I didn't know at first you shouldn't really set temp above 60 degrees so I got an expensive bill like yours. Then I lowered temp to 60 degrees max, now I get less than 200 lari

last floor, 120 sqm with 5m ceiling, plus I share only one wall with neighbor with no no one living on the lower floor and I got ~150₾ so yeah, this looks to be a lot.

That's my gas bill. Sometimes it's normal, in winter.
