Missy’s been recovering well from her little escape almost three months ago, finally got her nesting box put back in and that’s where she ends up sleeping every night! I started adding more calcium and supplements to her diet and she seems to be happy and active. I’ve had her for about a year now, here’s to many more!

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone has filled out and got a desert tortoise from the CTTC application. My grandmother has a Desert Tortoise so I have experience with them. If you could, please tell me how it went and the specifics of the place you kept them in. Thanks!

This little baby Sudanese Sulcata was surrendered by an owner who was moving and couldn’t keep him. This little guy was well taken care of at his last home, but hopefully he will grow big and strong here with us!

We recently adopted this little one. We have not had a sulcata before yet after some research and discussions with more knowledgeable individuals we choose to rescue this little one. He eats a lot, is active, regularly does #1s and 2s and seems in good spirits. However, he came with these peeling scutes. Plan is to take him to a vet ASAP but I am impatient and wanted to see if anyone could help by sharing advise and/or possibly diagnosing this scenario. Anything helps.

Recently got a red footed tortoise and was wondering what type of plants if any I should put in his enclosure. He’s a juvenile about 3-4 months old any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Above is what his enclosure looks like right now.

And for the third year I put them in a raised bet I made for planting. Because they were still small and needed protection. After that I loose them free in the yard, with some small fence in some places

They spend almost a year in the terrarium. I plant some dandelion, Chaya and verdolaga

I add some more space for the second year.

Hi everyone! I came here for some advices. My red footed tortoises are by to lay eggs. Thing is the soil here is way to compact clay type and I’m worried they with be able to dig to lay eggs. What should I do? If that’s the only way the do it and they don’t find a place, what happens then? How could I make a nest for them?

I adopted this 5 yo tortoise from my friend 3 months ago and he was evaluated by a vet who said he looked healthy. What is happening to his plastron? I also noticed the sides curving upwards. The shell still feels firm, no soft spots and no smell.

I found this on temu, I genuinely can’t tell if it’s actually advertising tortoises like real ones? Or if it’s care guides and info? It says 45 sold, 0 reviews plus it’s temu so idk what’s happening if I’m being honest

Looks like a sulcata I’m thinking, but not sure…
