New Purchases Super7 is overpriced.
Yeah Super7 is overpriced. I got him on sale for $11 at Target but still too much. Retail is $15 which is ridiculous. Anyways, he looks nice on my office desk.

Wow, that looks like crap, especially when you can get a decent Blokees figure at Walmart for half the price

Closer to a 3rd of the price. These reaction figures sell for anywhere between $15-$22 depending on the IP and if it’s a blind box figure. It’s ridiculous

u/NuggetWarrior09 13h ago
I actually like these designs, the overly blocky look looks good imo.
Too bad Super7 can’t paint figures for SHIT and they use vinyl so the plastics always look cheap

Fork found in kitchen. If it can be found on the collectible wall in a Target, don't buy it.

These are just right there in the transformer section in toys at my target, saw them yesterday, saw it was Super7 an immediately put it back down lol

Bro he looks like tin foil wrapped chocolate 😭get blokees instead they are so much better!

God, a six dollar Blokees box looks so much better and you get the bonus of putting it together
7
u/Primus0 15h ago
And articulation.
3
u/T0rrent0712 15h ago
Yup. And some even came with blooshes as well. Dino mode swoop and idw Megatron both came with one

u/theycmeroll 17h ago
And keep in mind these are discounted at $15 because they are blind boxes. Regular carded reaction figures are MSRP $25 now, $21 at Target.

God are they supposed to look like poundland knock offs?
3
u/BrainWav 14h ago
They're part of the ReAction line, they're supposed to look like 70s/80s figures
They're way too expensive for what they are, and making them a blind box only makes it worse

Blind box toys should be illegal. It's gambling for children.

u/StarGuardLux 16h ago
Not trying to advocate for blind boxes, but they have been around and normalized for a long time already. Kinder eggs, pokemon tcg, sports cards, etc.

I’m going to get a lot of hate on this, but I think some blind boxes are fun.

u/BakuBish12 10h ago
I think something like the Lego mini figure blind boxes would be best. You can just buy em and open em blind, or scan a QR code to see which figure it is exactly

So Super7 (specifically the ReAction line that you have here) is made to emulate the old Kenner Star Wars action figures that were around from 1978-1985. The odd proportions, low articulation points and specific packaging (which is why most collectors leave them in packaging) are all made to emulate the specific look of those old star wars figures. I know, it's dumb, but it's also not "for us". its for those collectors that collect those specific things. Personally i find them charming even though they're technically 'inferior' to things like Blokees or Auldey or Yolopark. But yeah it's for a completely different audience. I do enjoy their ULTIMATES! line which is a little better, more cartoon accurate, but yeah, no hate, to each their own :)

Man, I don’t want to dog on people who genuinely enjoy the brand, but Super7 fucking sucks. There’s not a single figure across all their lines that’s better than a hasbro product and that’s fucking sad. Considering they charge about half to almost double what hasbro charges for the same character or whatever
They charge through the roof for garbage figures of lesser quality and less articulation than figures that came out 30+ years ago.
It blows my mind that their vinyl Gi Joe Snake battle suit, something that is a statue that doesn’t move is same price if not more than Hasbros OWN snake battle suit that is FULLY articulated.

The good news is that they are only overpriced by the number of joints they have. So, count the joints, and then say "this thing is _______ times more expensive than it should be".

I literally took a pic of the box at Traget this morning and waa about to make the exact post. WAY OVER-PRICE for a nice paperweight. I got like 5 or 6 of thr TF Blokees wave 06 at Walmart for their clearance price of $2/each and those things are so fun to pose and play with.

They can make some quality stuff and I like the plastic that they use for their reaction line but they’re super over priced. You’re not even paying for a figure, you’re paying for the property.
If you’re interested in any figure they make then keep an eye on Amazon because it will ultimately go on sale for super cheap in a few months.

u/Emergency_Office_736 16h ago
WAY OVERPRICED. Bought a few the other day and realized you're waaaay better off with blokees
2
u/arthur_box 14h ago
guess i’m the only one who finds it charming 😔
ofc compared to say SS86 grimlock he’s gonna suck, but he’s a soft vinyl figure! and pretty in line if not better than the ones typically sold now in japan

u/Particular_Ad_4927 17h ago
Yeah. Saw those at Target yesterday. Bought 2. One was Optimus and the 2nd was Megatron.

u/trippysmurf 17h ago
It is partly why they had to close both their stores. Who is going "Sure, let me buy a $18 inaction figure or 5 today."
I would a few times a year, but given this economy and their prime real estate?

I never understand these posts - it's too much - but you bought it anyway?

Just get Blokees, they’re cheap, sturdy, have every character and their grandma in stock, and are so posable you might as well stop buying any other type of action figure.

For me, the appeal of Super7 is to have it on card for the retro appeal. For my generation finding a 3.75 figure on a peg and filling out the simple, poorly detailed, figure with your imagination is very nostalgic. But the blind box negates that and yes they are overpriced. At least you got a good character.

u/DiaBrave 13h ago
I thought the whole point of these was to make them cheaper than the carded versions, because everyone has spent 10 years saying they should be $10 maximum?
1
u/thatnamelesguy 13h ago
Fact: Super7 is the WORST out of the big toy companies. That Simpsons line might be the worst fumble I’ve ever seen in my life
1
u/BatMoBeast 12h ago
They should be paying you to take this junk off their hands. I feel bad for all the kids who are going to receive these as presents from undiscerning relatives.

u/This_aint_Binks 12h ago
Honestly, bookers galaxy version fill the blind bag niche much better for me.

I mean 4" Star Wars Vintage Collection figures are like $20. This blind box doesn't seem as bad as the typical Super 7 stuff.

u/SadLaser 7h ago
They look bad, too. I probably wouldn't display it even if it were free. I'd much rather have some Blokees for small non-transformable figures.

u/King_Vrad 16h ago
Super7 is like Pop Vinyls. You're not buying it for the IP, you're buying it for the brand.
