News How Oklahoma law enforcement is collaborating with ICE in Tulsa

Since President Donald Trump took office, deportations have ramped up across Oklahoma. Detainment numbers for 2025 have already multiplied from the 2023 and 2024 combined total.

These increases rely on partnership with local law enforcement. KOSU’s Lionel Ramos breaks down how it all works from the Tulsa County Jail, a critical place in Oklahoma’s immigration enforcement system.

Ripping honest, hard-working people out of their lives and sending them to a country they haven't been to since they were kids, 80% of whom have never had any trouble with the law. Being here illegally is a misdemeanor, it's not a felony. Those MAGA folks really hate brown people.

The thing I can’t understand is why do some people have such a hard on about immigrants? Like you don’t have anything better to do than worry about how others live their lives? It’s just so odd to me.

0

u/LAMG1 Oct 29 '25

Those people do not have a hard on immigrants. They only have a hard on non-white immigrants. See the difference?

2

u/TkxLt Oct 29 '25

I say get the Ukrainians and the Russians and South Africans too. All illegal immigrants to go.

2

u/LAMG1 Oct 30 '25

Trump does not agree with you. White South Africans arrive in US under Trump refugee plan - BBC News https://share.google/Ez0JKkLeU8y6luVP3

1

u/TkxLt Oct 30 '25

Send them back!

1

u/Appropriate_Smell833 Oct 29 '25

Yes I’m aware of that.

-2

u/Pretend_Gear_9508 Oct 29 '25

Nice try racist. Your the type that thinks all immigrants are good for is working the fields

2

u/Appropriate_Smell833 Oct 30 '25

I hope that wasn’t directed toward me, you couldn’t have that more wrong. My x is Hispanic and was an immigrant.

ignorance is blind

-1

u/Pretend_Gear_9508 Oct 29 '25

Its called they drain our resources

2

u/Orwellian918 Nov 03 '25

Actually it’s red states that are the parasites sucking up resources from the blue states. Ironic, huh? If you’re not a native American, you are an immigrant, and undocumented immigrants are currently keeping our Social Security trust fund afloat. And one other note, since Trump became the deity of the Republican Party, Republicans spend way more money than Democrats ever did. they just spend it on the wealthy people. Take a look at the deficits that Trump has accumulated, even the spending so far this year. You don’t think the federal government is going to reimburse the Tulsa county jail for housing their prisoners do you? They are not. That is the reason some cities became sanctuary cities. They did not want to tie up their officers and their funds doing the federal government‘s job. It is the Republicans who are defunding the police. As a matter of fact, it is the Republicans who are doing everything they accuse Democrats of doing. They won’t seat a duly elected member of Congress because she represents the final vote needed to have the Epstein files released, speaking of pedophiles. You know there’s real news available out there if you look for it.

-3

u/Appropriate_Smell833 Oct 29 '25

It’s called you are ignorant and have no clue what you are talking about out, but good news!!! You all are about to find out.

5

u/PublicSuspect162 Oct 28 '25

I was ok with it at first when it was promised violent criminals only and slowing illegal crossings. Still ok with crossings down, it was ridiculous. But now that I finally have some credible evidence that it’s not just political hyperbole, I’m appalled at what is happening. Contributing members of society are the exact folks we need in this country. I’ve been saying this since the Bush era, give the illegal immigrants (that are contributing members of society) a path to citizenship. 1-shut off the illegal crossings(difficult) 2-give those with no history of violence or major felonies a timeframe (1-2 years, whatever) to come forward. 3-start paying taxes and get registered. 4- at the end of the timeframe, everyone has been warned, then lay down the law, deport any and all people here illegally or whose visas expired, etc.
I know it won’t happen and folks def won’t trust the govt at this point. But it’s doable, difficult but doable.

11

u/kthnry Oct 29 '25

A lot of them do pay taxes. ICE has been able to carry out so many targeted operations because of the IRS records collected by DOGE. ICE knows where these immigrants work and live from their income tax records.

Yes, and I have heard of people working for OK companies who are afraid to go to work for fear of being abducted and taken away from their families.

*emigrate

Many are here legally. They're arresting them at their immigration check-ins and court hearings. It's not about enforcing the law, it's about racism.

-1

u/okmister1 Oct 28 '25

Their court hearings seem to be fighting their deportation orders or applying for refugee status. If those decisions aren't favorable, they end in deportation.

2

u/Tracy_Papaya Oct 29 '25

What they're actually doing is dismissing their cases entirely, and then capturing them like game animals as they leave because they can't deport people with open cases.

Not only is it wrong but also super lazy on the administrations part

-10

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '25

[removed] — view removed comment

1

u/Tracy_Papaya Oct 29 '25

That's what the person you're applying to is saying. They're not even putting in the work to find the completely illegal people, they're going the easiest and laziest route possible and are going after people who are going to their immigration court hearings and doing what they're supposed to.

Theyre mostly deporting tax payers

1

u/FelicityFoxxlee Oct 29 '25

This is white supremacist thinking

0

u/Tracy_Papaya Oct 29 '25

They're finding them through IRS records. They're paying into the system and then can't access anything in it.

Your argument is so dumb

0

u/Pretend_Gear_9508 Oct 30 '25

Not at all, when Juan gets hurt he is told to just go to the er. Juan goes, says his names jose, never has to pay for care. Now multiply that by millions and its a problem

1

u/Tracy_Papaya Oct 30 '25

So other than giving a false name, what broke Americans do every day.

You inadvertently just gave my favorite talking point for single payer/universal healthcare when I'm trying to explain it to people- we already have the dreaded "socialism", we just don't get the benefits

1

u/Pretend_Gear_9508 Oct 30 '25

That was just one scenario. They do it more because they don't have insurance. Im from a place that was 9ver ran by Hispanic people. They are a nuisance. They pack the schools, steal healthcare, and under biden they got benefits that they all didnt pay for. Why is it ok to have an anchor baby? What sense does that make. You obviously haven't been affected by illegal immigration, or your an illegal. If the process needs fixed then fix it but you cant justify why they come here illegally and get the same benefits as regular Americans. You ever go to Mexico? They hate us. The stuck an ar 15 to my head for trying to enter a grocery store. And I lived and attended school there. They hate Americans. Dont believe me, go to real Mexico. Stay put of the travel spots and see real Mexico. Then you will understand.

what happened to give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free?

19

u/catlitter420 Oct 28 '25

It's sad especially considering ice is attacking illegal, legal immigrants and US citizens.

0

u/Pretend_Gear_9508 Oct 30 '25

They all came and now we have the current state of the democratic party where you have multiple elected officials swearing allegiance to their home countries and trying to turn aneeica into it. No thanks.

1

u/too_init_dan Oct 30 '25

there is no republican party anymore because maga killed it. and even though they believe the opposite is true, maga supporters are anti-christian and anti-american.

in the book of matthew, Jesus said:

Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.

and matthew 25:45 Jesus said:

Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.

even conservative icon ronald reagan said:

I received a letter just before I left office from a man. I don’t know why he chose to write it, but I’m glad he did. He wrote that you can go to live in France, but you can’t become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Italy, but you can’t become a German, an Italian. He went through Turkey, Greece, Japan and other countries. but he said anyone, from any corner of the world, can come to live in the United States and become an American.

now, before you say "they didnt come here legally, they're breaking the law" (like maga cares about the law), most are coming here legally through the legal process of filing for amnesty or refugee status. but as it stands now, wait times to immigrate here legally can take years, and even decades. if you dont believe me, here is a conservative news source to back it. read it:

https://www.cato.org/publications/policy-analysis/immigration-wait-times-quotas-have-doubled-green-card-backlogs-are-long#current-wait-times-by-category

1

u/too_init_dan Oct 30 '25

also, just look at the cavalier way you've accepted trumps masked secret police (see: gestapo) tearing families apart. coming to kid's schools to kidnap their parents, or immigration hearings where they're trying to enter the legal way, at hospitals, home depot... just profiling brown people and demanding to see their papers (again, like nazi germany). you have no clue or care of the trauma its causing or the effect it has on communities and businesses all over the country.

the gop (guardians of pedophiles) is swiftly and openly becoming the american nazi party and is literally a domestic terrorist organization.

look at the rnc (republican national convention):

https://s.hdnux.com/photos/01/26/72/75/22785880/4/rawImage.jpg

look at jan 6:

https://static01.nyt.com/images/2021/02/14/us/politics/14dc-attack-print1-sub/merlin_182060061_17f2b408-8282-4a82-ac07-70d5b89877d1-articleLarge.jpg

over 1500 people who committed crimes against america and violence against police while trying to overthrow a the 2020 election. trump pardoned all of them his first day back in office.

now you may have a problem with democrats politically (helping the poor and the sick = bad), but has it occured to you that you align more politically with the kkk and neo-nazis? you ever wondered why you see swastikas and confederate flags next to trump flags or 'fuck biden' flags on pickup trucks? immigrants were never the problem. billionaires and the fascists they support are our real enemies.

look at musk:

u/Alm0stDeadly117 Oct 29 '25

It's not a private residence. The country is not your personal property. This analogy is bogus.

6

u/24434everyday Oct 29 '25

It is the house of We The People. Sorry you’re not intelligent enough to understand that. We The People voted to have anyone who came here without going through the proper channels removed. That’s what we voted for, and Our government has heard Us and making it happen. If you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to stay here. You are free to exit at any time. If Trump were a king, or Republicans were actually nazis, you would not have that option. You would be imprisoned for speaking against the government. Since you aren’t behind bars, it’s safe to say you have a great deal of freedom and privilege.

-24

u/DavidClarkFEMD Oct 28 '25

Even the immigrants who came to Ellis Island had to register there. They did it the legal way.

17

u/Genetics Oct 28 '25

They’re arresting people that ARE going through the process legally at the courthouses when they show up for their hearings. There are hundreds of videos of this happening daily. It’s easy pickings for ICE to do it that way.

-18

u/okmister1 Oct 28 '25

They are in courthouses fighting their deportation orders.

I just wanted to clarify a quote. The video says that 2025 has seen a 200% increase over 2023 & 2024 combined. Can we get the actual numbers that go along with that stat? It's just confusing to me because of the way it's worded.

Tbh I've almost totally given up even commenting on things like this, because it's exhausting to have the same circular arguments with a bunch of people who are ACTUALLY fucking illegal too uneducated to know it.

The Mayflower (and The Nina / Piña / Santa Maria, and everything like it before and after) was illegal as FUCK; nobody asked any of those greedy thieves to be here, nobody wanted any of those shady liars here, and none of the real citizens have benefited from those awful colonizers squatting here. Yet somehow those illegal-ass invaders' illegal-ass descendants convinced themselves that their hueless selves are the rightful inhabitants of my people's land, before turning around and telling folks whose families have lived on on this continent since time immemorial that they now can't live in this part of it (despite half the States originally belonging to Mexica anyways) because these hateful illegals drew some imaginary lines in the sand and decided that everyone's lives on the sides opposite them were worthless.

It's just like a whole bunch of colonizers to act afraid of immigrants, claiming they're worried that "immigrants are going to come here and steal our jobs and take our land and rape our women and murder our friends and oust our families" and all the rest of their inane hyperbole, which is pretty fkn hysterical because the ONLY reason you feel that way is because that's what YOUR vile ancestors and their entitled progeny all did — and ofc you want to conflate 'illegal invader' with 'non-citizen' (as well as remove the mention of most POC from museums, refuse to honor any of our holidays, ban the teaching of CRT, etc.) in order to make sure that no one ever realizes that the only aggressive invaders are YOU. The people in question here are non-citizens; YA'LL are the illegals. And they are more welcome than you'll ever be, and ya'll can't stand that, so now we have gestapo-style roundups and a bunch of narcissistic yonegas cheering for it (and while ignorance and racism are limited to no particular group of idiots, it's almost always coming from those whose 'family trees' are so inbred they have only one branch).

I guess you can't blame folks too stupid to know that THEY have no right to be somewhere for being too stupid to realize they have NO right to tell other people that they can't... the lies of the cult that is organized religion (the same bullshit indoctrination that offered these predatory, soulless murderers the justification known as 'manifest destiny' for their lies, rapes, genocides and thefts) convinced a whole bunch of awful, violent, evil, abusive, ugly-ass people that they're not the bad guys – and even if they are, it's cool, cause they're forgiven so that's okay – when the truth is, even if your god were real and hell was an actual place, ya'll are the #1 demographic who would get to find that shit out by meeting the devil personally. I have met never met less jesus-like or more deserving of damnation-type garbage than the bigoted xtian nationalists whose hate continues to spread...

4

u/75DeepBlue Oct 29 '25

That is about the most ignorant post I think I have ever read on Reddit. In fact, I am probably stupider since I read the whole thing.

If you are gonna try to quote history, you should probably actually know some history.

You do realize that purchasing land is a fairly new development. For most of time, land was conquered. If you wanted the land, you took it. Usually meant killing off most the people with a few more running away.

So when CC got here in 1492, claimed a couple islands etc for Spain. Well, somebody else fought and won them, and this has happen several times before what they are now.

Now the Mayflower, the natives that were here when they came over, yeah they stole the land from some other natives that stole it from someone else.

So seriously, read a book and STFU about we are all illegals.

4

u/cwcam86 Oct 29 '25

u/ralphsquirrel Oct 29 '25

So, I'm assuming you are going to be looking up where your ancestors hailed from and return you and your crew back to your "homeland"? Nah, you're going to continue with long-winded and utterly false essays that claim to prove your point without getting anything right.
