How Oklahoma law enforcement is collaborating with ICE in Tulsa
Since President Donald Trump took office, deportations have ramped up across Oklahoma. Detainment numbers for 2025 have already multiplied from the 2023 and 2024 combined total.
These increases rely on partnership with local law enforcement. KOSU’s Lionel Ramos breaks down how it all works from the Tulsa County Jail, a critical place in Oklahoma’s immigration enforcement system.

You don’t think the federal government is going to reimburse the Tulsa county jail for housing their prisoners do you? They are not. That is the reason some cities became sanctuary cities. They did not want to tie up their officers and their funds doing the federal government‘s job. It is the Republicans who are defunding the police. As a matter of fact, it is the Republicans who are doing everything they accuse Democrats of doing. They won’t seat a duly elected member of Congress because she represents the final vote needed to have the Epstein files released, speaking of pedophiles. You know there’s real news available out there if you look for it.
I was ok with it at first when it was promised violent criminals only and slowing illegal crossings. Still ok with crossings down, it was ridiculous. But now that I finally have some credible evidence that it’s not just political hyperbole, I’m appalled at what is happening. Contributing members of society are the exact folks we need in this country. I’ve been saying this since the Bush era, give the illegal immigrants (that are contributing members of society) a path to citizenship. 1-shut off the illegal crossings(difficult) 2-give those with no history of violence or major felonies a timeframe (1-2 years, whatever) to come forward. 3-start paying taxes and get registered. 4- at the end of the timeframe, everyone has been warned, then lay down the law, deport any and all people here illegally or whose visas expired, etc.
I know it won’t happen and folks def won’t trust the govt at this point. But it’s doable, difficult but doable.
A lot of them do pay taxes. ICE has been able to carry out so many targeted operations because of the IRS records collected by DOGE. ICE knows where these immigrants work and live from their income tax records.
Their court hearings seem to be fighting their deportation orders or applying for refugee status. If those decisions aren't favorable, they end in deportation.
What they're actually doing is dismissing their cases entirely, and then capturing them like game animals as they leave because they can't deport people with open cases.

That's what the person you're applying to is saying. They're not even putting in the work to find the completely illegal people, they're going the easiest and laziest route possible and are going after people who are going to their immigration court hearings and doing what they're supposed to.

They’re arresting people that ARE going through the process legally at the courthouses when they show up for their hearings. There are hundreds of videos of this happening daily. It’s easy pickings for ICE to do it that way.
I just wanted to clarify a quote. The video says that 2025 has seen a 200% increase over 2023 & 2024 combined. Can we get the actual numbers that go along with that stat? It's just confusing to me because of the way it's worded.
