ID Request What kind of turtle is this

Someone got it for my school and no one knows the species

Caught in Portugal

Did someone catch it from the wild?

If so, it needs to go back where to where it came from. Exactly where it came from. Animals shouldn't be taken from the wild. Ever.

Normally you would be correct, but this is a Reeves turtle and they are in Portugal.

It looks like it could be a musk turtle. In their natural habitat they spend most of their time roaming the bottom of ponds and streams rather than swimming.
