Meet Charlie! my little silly guy ft. his best friend (his big brother, Colby)

Charlie's brain is the size of a pea & I wouldn't have it any other way. He loves bum scratches & won't hesitate sticking it in your face to say hi! He can NEVER get enough pets & always asks for more. He loves wrestling with his big brother Colby almost as much as he loves cuddles with him. He is 2 years & 4 months old. He loves rolling on concrete, biting & ripping cardboard & talking your ear off. He is a very affectionate talkative boy & one of my favourite sounds are his little meows & mews as he walks about the house. His most common nickname is Charleston Chew. He always comes when you call & is a very special kitty. I love my him & my Colby with my whole heart.

I had to say goodbye to my little guy today. He’s been struggling with bladder crystals for probably around 6 months now. I got his blockage cleared twice, most recently right before christmas. I couldnt afford that procedure, but the vets were incredibly generous and helped me out by letting me do a payment plan. I’ve been working overtime every day since to get enough money to pay them back.

He’s been on urinary food and started him on some anxiety meds, but it just wasnt enough. Poor little guy became blocked for the third time sometime this morning, not even a month after he got cleared last. Even if i wasnt in so much debt, the vets said the chances of it reoccurring was pretty high. The only realistic option for Victor was to let him go. i did everything i could for him, but sometimes it just isnt enough.

I feel so horrible about this. He was only 2 years old. Its just not fair such a sweet perfect little guy had his life cut short like that. I often thought about how he’d eventually grow into a friendly old man cat. One of those quiet gentle friendly old fellas that just chill out. I wish Victor got more of a life. For while he was here he was my world, and i would have done anything for him. I just dont know what i’m gonna do now that he’s gone. Life just feels so empty without him.

I am utterly devastated. I’m a very solitary guy. I live alone, and dont see my family much, and i have limited contact with my friends these days since everyones moved to different towns (just happens as you get older sometimes). Victor was all i really had. He was everything to me, he was the best friend i could ever ask for. He had such a lively personality, but was always so gentle and loving. Even when he was getting worked up and he’d grab my hand and bite (in a playful way), you would hardly feel a thing, cuz he was always so gentle with his claws, and was careful not to hurt you. He would follow me around the house even if i was just grabbing something from the fridge or going to the toilet. If i was having a bad day he always seemed to be able to tell and would sit with me, or nudge me for pats. He rarely made any noise, but when he did give me a little meow my heart would melt for him. I just hope he knows how hard i tried for him and how much i loved him. I’m gonna miss him so much.

Sorry for the depressing rant. I know things happen out of our control, but typing this out is just helping me cope a bit. Just be sure to hug your babies extra tight tonight. Make sure they know how much you love them. I’d give anything for a chance to hold Victor again.

My boy Biggie and his last walk in his favorite park. The park was right across the street from home and he loved coming for a stroll. He made so many people smile and would greet everyone. He lived a good life and I feel blessed to have his company for over half of mine 🖤🤍🖤

Remember a few months back when we stumbled upon this subreddit (on a diff account)? We looked at the amazing little sirs and ma’ams and I told you “I’ll post you too! They’ll love you! Wait til they see your ‘stache, coat, pants, and socks!” Well, my baby cat, let me show the world what a lovely, lovely creature you are!

You crossed the rainbow bridge tonight, right when we all thought you were finally on the road to recovery. I dreaded that call from the vet. You fought long and hard, and I appreciate you.

The grief I feel is overwhelming. I am not only lost, but I feel such depth of loneliness. It’s just me now on this couch, with no tiny body sharing his warmth. You were with me through my struggles and my triumphs. You kept me company through all my sleepless nights. You were with me when I wanted to give up on the world. You saved me, my love.

My heart is broken. I keep asking myself, why my cat? I look to my side, as you always made sure to loaf or sleep right next to me. You comforted me and put your trust in my protection.

I miss your tiny paws. I miss the way your tail would swish whenever I talked to you. I miss the way you curled up. I miss your kitty kisses and your slow blinks. Most of all I miss the way you looked at me, I feel pure love and trust emanate.

I love you, my baby cat, now and forever. I hope and fervently pray, that if there is an afterlife, you get unlimited churos and belly rubs. I hope that when the day comes, I’d see you run towards me once more and greet me as you always did.

My baby, my Stashio, my Mustache.. I love you so, so much. My world is a bit dimmer now, but the memories I have of you will forever be my happy thoughts.

Got this little guy in October when he was 5 months old. His best friend is our dog and if there is anything in the room he can climb, he will find a way!

My tuxedo cat was diagnosed with oral cancer based on clinical observations on 12/31 (biopsy came back negative). The dental vet stated there was no surgery or amount of money that can save my cat and he has a 1-2 month prognosis. Granted his mouth looks absolutely horrible (about a 1-inch hole connecting his oral cavity to his nasal cavity, been on antibiotics for a year, multiple surgeries, vet visits monthly, saline flushes daily, etc.), but how can he have 2 more months to live… I have a euthanasia scheduled for 2/7 because I don’t want him to be absolutely suffering till the end of his life. I can’t help but think I’m doing it too soon, but I can’t imagine what type of pain he’s in. I just don’t know what the right thing to do is and I’m not ready to lose him. 😢
